What kind of restaurant is she interested in?

Little Italy is a good fairly inexpensive pizzeria. Previti is another great place, though they took a while to deliver my order when I visited a few months ago.

You also can't go wrong with Panera Bread.

BKNY is a Thai restaurant we like to go to regularly. Russ & Daughters is a great spot, but very expensive.

Magnolia Bakery, Five Guys, Junior's, and Quan Sushi also come to mind.

Let's see....
-Quickie mentioned Junior's, which is a great choice. Order the Cheesecake.
-Carnegie is closing soon, so I'd recommend Katz instead if Carnegie is closed.
-For really good Ramen, I'd recommend Ippudo (of course, I really like the Pork Buns more. So there are other good Ramen joints. Totto Ramen is also good)
-For good straight up NY Pizza, Bleecker St. Pizza is a great place. Joe's Pizza is also good. Lombardi's is great for the original, traditional pizza. I consider Totonno's in Brooklyn to be the best place. L&B Spumoni Gardens has amazing big square slices.
-Best Thai place is in Queens. SriPraPhai.
-Wo Hop is one of the best secret NY spots in the city. Open late and really good (Go to the downstairs one)

Ill toss in my 2 cents I guess since I love food. Lily's Victorian Establishment is a real nice pub in Time Square (and Union Square as well) I dont remember their prices off the top of my head, but they tend to have good lunch specials. (stuff like 10 bucks for a quality angus beef burger and a beer, with a side of handcut fries) and they have an open bar. As well as decor to DIE for. Much as it's name implies, it's all made up victorian style.

Outside of the usual parts of the city, Goodfella's Pizza in Staten Island is really damn good. They make a killer Mushroom pie as well as a 4 cheese pie that's absolutely fantastic.
