That sounds like Homer Simpsons Patented "Moon Waffles".

If I remember, the recipe is A ton of waffle batter, a whole bag of Caramels, and a Bottle of Liquid smoke. After done, Pry it out with a spatula and wrap it around butter and put a stick in it. It's also a pain in the ass to clean up apparently.

You Can't skip the liquid smoke! Thats like one of the main flavorings!

I guess you could make some... by pouring water on smoke from wood chips.
