Title: Nintendo Vs. Capcom: Here We Go
Post by: Protoman Blues on March 24, 2011, 11:01:59 AM
Because we can take our dreams for a ride once in a while. Well here we are, a Nintendo vs. Capcom topic. The topic is pretty simple and straightforward: Who do you want to see in it? What supers do you think they should have? What stages would you like them to use? What's today's date? WHAT YEAR?

So, here is my makeshift list for 5:30AM...

Nintendo
Mario
Luigi
Daisy
Bowser
Link
Zelda
Ganondorf
Samus
Kirby
King Dedede
Capt. Falcon
Wario
Captain Syrup
Lucario
Mewtwo
Fox McCloud
Slippy (because he deserves a hyper combo finish)
Donkey Kong
Capt. K Rool
Mike Jones

Capcom
MegaMan
Roll
Blues
Forte
Arthur
Firebrand
Felicia
Morrigan
Fokker/Falcon
Rouge
Amaterasu
Phoenix Wright
Ryu (BoF)
Nina (ditto)
Viewtiful Joe
Sexy Silvia
Ryu (SF)
Chun-Li
Strider
Little Nemo

I'll come up with more later, like when I wake up. Well, have fun! XD

Capcom
MegaMan
Roll
Blues
Forte

Yuuuuuuuuuuuuuup...

I also really want to see Wright in a fighting game. Especially a playful one like something Nintendo would pull off.
Because no matter how they make his moveset it's gonna be interesting. (read: hilarious)
Also I want Sissel (Ghost Trick)! :< And Eliwood (Fire Emblem)! Marth is boring Roy is annoying as Ike ALSO LYN a Nintendo fighter wouldn't feel right anymore without Fire Emblem characters

Guns? In a Nintendo game starring Mario? Hahahahahahahahahaha

Even Snake wasn't allowed to keep his own.

Yanno even though I don't care too much for Dante even if he can't use is BFGs, he can still use his BFSs.

Jin (Cyberbots) is always good
Any Power Stone character, but I see the two I was going to say are already on the list!

On the Nintendo side, I'd say no more Pokemon, as I'm pretty damn sure that Starfy deserves to have a roster position.

Oh no, I love my smug princess.

I was just going for a more different, unique roster for the game. XD

I wonder what would be better, keeping everyone in its own style like Smash Bros, or experiment with having everyone in a consistent style like NxC?

Anyways, will post my ideas later, but I'll just say, while making a Mario moveset I just noticed that he's pretty much Ryu already XD

Guns? In a Nintendo game starring Mario? Hahahahahahahahahaha

Even Snake wasn't allowed to keep his own.

It's not like it has to look like he's shooting bullets. They could make up some BS saying that he's shooting magic or something and modify the look of the attacks accordingly.

Nope, guns are guns. Turn them into Wii Zappers or something.

...also, Pauline was here. Peach and Daisy are sluts.

Nope, guns are guns. Turn them into Wii Zappers or something.

You heard it here, folks. Nintendo doesn't publish games that have/involve/imply the use of realistic firearms.

... of course, this is if you don't acknowledge the existence of Hogan's Alley, Duck Hunt, Advance Nintendo Wars, Super Scope 6, various arcade cabinets, Geist...

Because all of them star Mario, right?

Read what I say CLEARLY before saying anything stupid.

I did.  And I ask you this: if characters with guns aren't allowed to be in the same game as Mario, explain the Star Fox team Smash Bros.

Oh, wait those are fictional guns, so they don't count!

Pew pew pew lasers. Not bullets.

All of Snake's weaponry like the rocket launcher and Nikita could be considered "guns", but they're not. They're not guns that fire real bullets. They're just explodey things.
Title: Re: Nintendo Vs. Capcom: Here We Go

Alright, so lazers and explody things aren't violent, got it.
Title: Re: Nintendo Vs. Capcom: Here We Go
Post by: Krystal on March 25, 2011, 03:41:33 AM
Definitely not, as we all know, burning a hole in something is less violent than punching a hole in something. =w=b

And rocket launchers are always less violent than handguns.

You seem to miss the point, and/or are stoopid doopid enough to not know that for whatever reason... lazers were always considered less violent.
Probably because yeah, they aren't REAL... that much.

For more accurate description of this phenomenon see:

The point wasn't missed.  I just enjoy pointing out the logic in broad-brush assumptions.

Has everyone forgotten that Mario or a figurine of him could be shot in the face with real bullets in the Metal Gear Solid remake?

Watch almost any kids' cartoon. The logic follows that guns will always follow lasers, and that while explosives and missiles are okay, guns, rifles and machine guns are bad.

Kids' show logic of not showing kids stuff that they might have around the house to use.
Title: Re: Nintendo Vs. Capcom: Here We Go
Post by: The Blind Archer on March 25, 2011, 03:58:56 AM
I'm still reading that as "deadly firearms are okay as long as they don't do realistic things"
Title: Re: Nintendo Vs. Capcom: Here We Go
Post by: Bueno Excelente on March 25, 2011, 04:06:09 AM
Nintendo's logic is hazy in the matter. Look at the eldrich abomination that is the Wii Zapper. Trigger in the front, of all things. Their main objective was to make the least-gun-looking-thingy as possible.

Just read around the net for information when it comes to censoring [parasitic bomb] for kids. I'm too tired to explain this.

It's just 20 x 20. If it's a Capcom vs. game, there's always room for more. I also forget Pit & Zangief too.

Lucia as boss for the Nintendo side. She will counter every single blow you make with her racket flawlessly and you won't be able to beat her without exploiting some of the faster techniques.

For this to work I think Capcom would have to use a pocket fighters art style for the street fighter characters or it would have to be more like a Smash bros/powerstone type of game.

Well, it's moveset time.

Assuming this thing would play like Marvel 3...

Mario (If any attack is similar to Smash then I'll just say which it is)

-Normals-
Standing Light
The punch that he uses when you press A in Smash. Press it 3 times and he will do his usual 3 hit combo. Hits mid.

Standing Medium
His tilt forward attack. Hits mid.

Standing Hard
His smash forward. Hits mid.

Standing Exchange
His up smash. Hits mid.

Crouching Light
His tilt down attack. Hits low.

Crouching Medium
A regular kick with long reach. Hits low.

Crouching Hard
His smash down attack. Hits low. Knocksdown.

Jumping Light
His neutral air attack. Hits high.

Jumping Medium
His up air attack. Hits high.

Jumping Hard
His backward air attack. Hits high.

Jumping Exchange
His forward air attack. Hits high. Knocksdown in the air.

-Command Normals-
-> Hard
He takes out a hammer, raises it over his head and hits the opponent with it. Hold the button to charge, fully charged it's unblockable. Hits high.

Down forward Medium
He slides like in his dash attack in Smash. Hits low.

-Specials-
Fireball (QCF attack)
Shoots a bouncing fireball to the ground at angle, the angle and speed depends on the button used. Hits mid.

Super Jump Punch (DP attack)
Mario jumps with his fist raised, if the opponent is hit coins come out of them. L version hits 3 times, M version 5 times, and H version 10 times. Hits mid.

Mario Tornado (QCB attack)
Mario starts spinning with his fists stretched out, dealing damage if he's touched. The button pressed determines the distance he travels. If the button is mashed he'll rise a little. When used in the air, the distance traveled is much shorter and diagonal, but hits high instead of mid.

Cape (RDP attack)
Mario takes out his cape and swings it forward. If it hits the opponent, he is turned around, but if it hits a projectile it is reflected. Hits mid.

Hover Nozzle (QCB Exchange)
Mario takes out FLUDD and uses it to hover around the stage until his water runs out.

-Hyper Combos-
Mario Finale (QCF 2 attacks)
Exactly the same as brawl. Hits mid.

Stomp (DP 2 attacks)
Mario jumps on top of the opponent, like he would on a goomba, koopa, etc. Hits high and can hit opponents that are on the ground too.

Starman (QCB 2 attacks) (Level 3)
Mario punches the opponent. If it hits, there will be a cinematic where Mario will jump, revealing a hidden block with a Starman which he will grab, then he runs toward the opponent and sends him flying when touched and numbers representing points show up, Mario then juggles his opponent the same way until he gets a 1-up (with its iconic sound of course).

I wanted to add a move with the SMB3 suits though but 4 supers is a bit much =(

-Assists-
Fireball, Super Jump Punch, and Hammer.

For this to work I think Capcom would have to use a pocket fighters art style for the street fighter characters

Ok that would be awesome. It'd have to apply to everyone though, including the Nintendo side.

Didn't they publish Goldeneye and Perfect Dark?

There was also Geist, but we don't really talk about that one. XD

Meanwhile, I love this idea. Let's go wild:

Nintendo - I don't know why this list feels like I'm not capitalizing on cool Nintendites that could really make for an amazing roster, but it's what I have for now:

Mario
Luigi
Peach
Bowser
Link
Zelda
Ganondorf
Samus
Donkey Kong + Diddy Kong
Mewtwo
Isa/Kachi (either or)
Little Mac
Mike Jones
Lip
Marth
Captain Falcon
Issac
Wario
Captain Syrup
Fox

Capcom - Pretty much PB's exact list with a more personal preference of Power Stone characters and Dante. Because every VS. fighter needs Dante from now on. XD

MegaMan
Roll
Blues
Forte
Arthur
Firebrand
Felicia
Morrigan
Wang Tang
Rouge
Amaterasu
Ryu (BoF)
Nina (ditto)
Viewtiful Joe
Sexy Silvia
Ryu (SF)
Chun-Li
Strider
Dante

Nah, I don't think so. I think they could still do it with the VS. engine. It'd be cool if they did do a Smash Bros. type game as well as a Vs. series type game as well.
