Zero / Ragnarok Record Translations?
« on: September 06, 2013, 09:05:55 PM »
Well, it's been a good few years now since Remastered Tracks Rockman ZERO PHYSIS came out and I was wondering, did anyone ever bother translating the Ragnarok Record drama tracks from it?

Yes, I'm aware that most of them are just reinactments of the cutscenes from the game, but some of them had some tidbits here and there that were not part of the dialogue in the game. "-At Control Room- Laevatein" has always been the one that interested me the most, but thus far, all I could find online were RUSSIAN translations on YouTube.

My Japanese is rather limited, but I could make out a few things in there that were interesting me, but since I'm no expert, I was hoping someone with actual Japanese skills could provide some insights.

An unconfirmed teaser site has opened for what it describes as the "Fate/stay night film." The domain is registered under the name "Geneon Entertainment" by the GMO Internet service provider.

A movie, huh? Compilation of the Studio DEEN anime? Alternative take on the Fate route? Completely different route animated this time, or even attempting to cut all 3 routes together?

The BONES, Casio Entertainment, Production I.G., Studio 4°C, and Toei Animation anime studios are animating Halo Legends, a DVD anthology of seven short films based on Microsoft Studios' Halo game franchise. Microsoft's creative staff is approving the visual and storytelling. Two of the creative directors are Frank O'Connor of 343 Industries and Shinji Aramaki (Appleseed). Aramaki's short will cover the history of the Spartan warrior class from the games. Studio 4°C will animate two 30-minute shorts about "the entire 100,000 year history of the Halo universe."

Warner Brothers will release the anthology on DVD, Blu-ray Disc, and digital distribution in early 2010. A trailer is planned for the Halo panel at San Diego's Comic-Con International on Thursday, and Xbox 360 users can see a preview this fall on the Xbox Live service.

Animatrix and Batman: Gotham Knight must have been quite successful. But Halo as an anime? I say it might work. The Haloid fanmovie proved that I guess.

On December 10, the January issue of Gakken's Animedia magazine published a quote from the Sunrise anime studio's Code Geass unit for its New Year's feature, "2009 Love & Beef"*:

All of you have shown us much appreciation and made the DVDs as well as the CDs so popular. Really, we have been blessed with fervent fans…. Thank you very much. Like we have said before, [a major character development happened] but Geass cannot die. It just ended, but we think it would be nice if we can still do something more. In any case, when we can announce something, in the not-so-distant future…

Sunrise created and animated the Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion television anime series and its R2 sequel. Sunrise did not indicate the format that any hypothetical future plans might take. The Adult Swim television programming block has been running Bandai Entertainment's adaptation of the R2 sequel in North America since fall.

* 2009 will be the Year of the Ox, according to the traditional Chinese Zodiac.

Seriously? No, just no. CG is awesome, really, but the series does not need another season, as long it's a continuation that is. I wouldn't mind a little more prequel info though. I want C.C.'s real name and the origin of Geass. But I don't want to see Lelouch walk around again, he's dead and that's good.

The official Japanese website for the anime adaptation of Sega and Chunsoft's 428 ~Fuusa Sareta Shibuya de~ visual novel has launched with the announcement of the anime's official title: CANAAN. The visual novel for the Nintendo Wii tells a present-day story about a detective, a young man, a virus researcher, a freelance writer, and a cat mascot character who are brought together by bizarre events with worldwide implications in the Tokyo neighborhood of Shibuya. Sword of the Stranger director Masahiro Ando (not to be confused with the similarly named Sailor Moon animation director Masahiro Ando) is overseeing the animators at P.A. Works (Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex: Solid State Society, Darker than BLACK). Type-Moon is already producing a bonus anime scenario for the game. Screenplay writer Kinoko Nasu and original character designer Takashi Takeuchi of Fate/stay night and Tsukihime, Lunar Legend fame are involved in both 428 projects.

I thought it was already worth making a thread for this. I'm really looking forward to something new from the guys behind TYPE-MOON, despite being only the animation based on a bonus scenario of the game, but at least it IS being handled by Nasu and Takeuchi. Thread is being edited with new info as they come.

On this weekend's ComiKet 75, a short 17-second teaser was also shown which is available here

Rockman Series / Best of Zero's themes
« on: November 15, 2008, 04:10:32 PM »
OK, so let's try this again.

Out of all characters in the Rockman Universe, Zero is pretty much the one with the most recognized and unique themes, usually a new one per game. So, what's your favorite one out of these?

For myself, it's a pretty hard decision actually. Lots of these are quite awesome themes. But I believe I will still go with the original, with the SNES version of X3 and the Command Mission theme close behind.

General / Regarding Games, Movies, TV Series and Animes
« on: November 08, 2008, 05:04:16 PM »
I just talked to PB about this and he likes the idea, so I'll just share my thoughts about this.

Now that RPM is in the middle of starting over, I think it would be a good idea to go a bit more into detail regarding video games, movies and TV series and anime. What I mean is that people don't just create a thread about one of these with just some random comment like "It's awesome. Somebody else watchin' this?" but instead add more information regarding the medium they are talking about. I've done this with the Gundam 00 and Kara no Kyoukai thread so far. As you can see, I added a picture, some statistic info and some general plot outlines.

I'm neither saying we should turn the forum into a database nor forcing anyone to do it my way, but I just think it would be nice to keep this all just a tad more organized now that we have the chance to do it. We then also could make pinned index threads so one could check right away if the game, series or movie already has a thread.

As I said, I was merely thinking. Anyone wanna share their opinion on this?

First Season Plot

It is the year A.D. 2307. Fossil fuels on Earth have been depleted entirely, with mankind turning to the next available power source: solar energy. During this time, 3 orbital elevators with solar power generation systems are built, each under control by the World Economy Union, the Human Reform League and the Advanced European Union. However, not all countries are able to enjoy the benefits of this system, leading to widespread resentment and war. Arising out of the conflict, a mysterious non-profit military organization known as Celestial Being appears, dedicated to end all warfare using Mobile Suits called Gundams. This begins the stories of Gundam Meisters Setsuna F Seiei, Lockon Stratos, Allelujah Haptism and Tiera Erde as they are thrown into conflict between the 3 superpowers and the other various factions.

Second Season Plot

4 years since the final battle between Celestial Being and the UN Forces. Humanity, having established the Earth Sphere Federation, forms an independent security preservation force, A-LAWS, separate from the formal Federation army to further unify nations and the will of mankind. But the reality was the inhumane oppression of anti-government powers, doctrines and ideologies in the name of unity.

Saji Crossroad, who followed the path to becoming a space engineer to keep a promise to Louise Halevy and fulfill a dream, is also compelled to become involved in Federation government reform.

Meanwhile, Setsuna F. Seiei, surviving the final battle 4 years ago, saw the future of the world that had been changed by Celestial Being. With the defeat of guardian Alejandro Corner, he dreamed of a peaceful world without conflict. But before his own eyes was the reality of the continuing strain on peace, the oppression caused by A-LAWS. He decides once more to fight with Gundam, the power with the potential to change the world.

Where will Setsuna's and Saji's paths take them as the world is set into motion once more?

Reviving this topic as well before Lelouch does =P

Episode 6 of 2nd Season tomorrow and I absolutely can't wait.

When an odd string of suicides begins to occur at a local high rise building, most of the townsfolk treat it as an unfortunate series of events. One girl, however, senses something more sinister at work - especially when a close friend of hers falls mysteriously ill. After witnessing one of the deaths for herself, Shiki begins to realize that a strange connection exists between each of the girls, and predicts a total of eight will die. With seven dead and the accuracy of her prediction unclear, she sets out to put an end to the killings. Yet, as she nears the truth, she finds herself closer and closer to the brink of death; will Shiki become the town's savior, or the next victim?

Probably should have made a thread about this on the old board, but whatever.

Since last year, the earlierst work of TYPE-MOON head author Nasu Kinoko is being turned into a seven part anime movie series. And it's one hell of a series. Having not read the two volumes of the original work, I can't really comment on how faithful the adaption is like with Tsukihime and Fate/stay night, but to me, KnK pretty much is the production of the year so far. These three movies that have been released on DVD so far and have been fansubbed (part four is scheduled for DVD release in December, part five in January) have been quite mindblowing for me. The animation is the best I have ever seen, the atmosphere is quite tense and the music is nothing short but awesome.

Freshmen to TYPE-MOON works probably may have some problems with Kara no Kyoukai, not only because they might not get the references or connections to the other works of Nasu but also because the movies, like the books, are not in chronological order, kinda like the TV broadcast of Suzumiya Haruhi. The actual chronological order is 2-4-3-1-5-6-7.

So, who's also watching this? What are your thoughts and impressions?
