Topic: Cave Story+ - Available Now on Steam

Yep, Cave Story gets another English release in the US by NICALiS, this time on Steam. But before you ask "Why should I fork over money for an indie game that's still free?", here are some of the new features of Cave Story+.

• It's available for both PC and Mac
• This version of Cave Story features the ability to change between the low-res (320x240) visuals and enhanced hi-res visuals, just as with the WiiWare and DSiWare versions
• The original and arranged versions of the game's soundtrack is also featured (not sure if it's the same as the Wii/DSiWare's music)
• Six new game modes, such as Bush Rush and a new Wind Fortress area
• USB controller support
• Four possible endings
• Future content updates

Cave Story+ was just released yesterday and it's available for $10 - BUT WAIT!! As part of Steam's Autumn Sale (November 22nd-27th), you can save 15% off Cave Story and buy it for only $8.50!

Wind Fortress? The place that had the unused music still in the game? Sounds neat. Not yet sure if I want to fork over more money for a game I own on both the Wii and DS (And soon to be 3DS when I get Cave Story 3D.)

Not sure if I want to go with another round with the Doctor. Well, I might try the new area, but that's only about it. However, if it's boss is Balrog, then bah! I should know all his attack patterns by now..

Played it a bit. It's the same as the WiiWare version.
Since it's played on a PC, the screen quality looks so detailed and amazing.
Music is the same as the "patched" WiiWare soundtrack.

For those trying the game, I recommend Window mode, and Sharp scaling.
That way the game will be set at 640x480 and no blur filters will be used. Pixel perfect. ^^

It's great that it's on steam but seriously how many times are they going to re-release this game before they make Cave Story 2.

I'm playing on Fullscreen with Sharp scaling and the game looks great on my end with a 1440x900 monitor.

Need to check out if the "Original" graphic settings looks just as good on my brother's PC... Done!

Phew. Just got through Wind Fortress with a 4 1/2 Minute time, I don't know how they expect 2:00. I simply can't play that skillfully.

[spoiler]G-Clone was a pain in the ass, it was bad enough that the 290 counter in the stage is bugged in that it won't reset the time if I die. But having tons of Curly Clones spawning to [twin slasher] Quote was rather annoying.[/spoiler]
