Well, according to an upcoming exhibit at the Smithsonian dedicated to 40 years of video games as just that, that would be the case. Suck it, Ebert.  And the best part?  You get to decide what video games are showcased!

As a person who was forced to study craptonnes of art theory an artist I went for the games that felt different and immersive (Well, 'artistic' as opposed to simply 'entertaining' I suppose) as opposed to just 'looked nice' \o/

I'd vote for Newgrounds to get their own exhibit featured at the museum. I'd love to see Treasure, Nintendo, Capcom, 2K Games, and more at the museum. Wishing I could go~
