What was your worst experience ever in an online game?  For me, it was last night while playing Mario Kart DS (worldwide setting).  I was playing with 2 other people (1 disconnected), and we were on the 3rd stage, which happened to be Yoshi Falls.  I was pretty much whooping them, but they weren't too bad.  I noticed that this one guy would just sit still for a while and wait for me to overlap him.  I simply paid him no mind, until he did something really annoying.

The guy (using Mario) gets a star, and runs over me.  Normally, it's not a big deal; after all, it's what most people do when they get one.  However, the guy switches into reverse and runs me over again.  Then he pulls forward again and hits me again.  The annoying part was that it was inescapable.  He hits me with this "combo" of his until the effect of the star runs out, and then he pulls off, despite the fact that he was already lapped.  The other opponent took advantage of this and won that race.

Times like this make me wish voice chat was an option in that game.   >_<

OH GOD, where do I start and end... XD

I have a good one though. Playing Zelda's online during Brawl lag. They always, ALWAYS get the Smash Balls and ignore everything else going on in the match. God forbid you're the type who'll go after them and beat them, because for the remainder of the time that you're in Basic Brawl, they aim for you alone. XD

Also, [tornado fang]ing Mario Kart Wii... If I throw a [tornado fang]ing shell at someone, it shouldn't fade through them, hit them 5 seconds later or they get away unfazed. Seriously, I flip [parasitic bomb] when I see someone drive through a blue shell carpet bombing like it was nothing but the breeze. XD

Well there was this one time when a clearly 13-year-old started cussing everyone out in a match of Grifball. I called him out on it, and he started cussing me out. I think he even went after me in the match as well. Needless to say I killed him more than he did me. The whole time I stayed civil, and didn't bother cussing back at him while he continued his lame assault. Ah, that was a good game.

...Oh wait, I was supposed to say my worst experiences online... Well, getting onto Brawl usually ended in failure. So I stopped using the Wii as an online system except for getting stuff from the virtual console.

I don't play online anymore except a few occasions. I remember a time when in Brawl, some guy (it was on a tournament, probably a brawler named Boo Mansion) cheapily used Ike on me about 6+ times. [tornado fang]ing annoying that I NEVER got a chance to attack because of that guy's range.

Same thing in MKWii, only he was using DRY Bowser and I was stuck using the origional one (Dry Bowser is bloody Speedy Gonzales in this title). Wii Wheel my ass.

At least in TF2 they give me a chance as the Pyro.  -_-

Workshop/DA/YT/Photobucket なにかんがえてるの!?
So its about ass now huh? EVEN THE ASS HAS 'EXCEEDED'!

One mention of LEGENDS and everyone goes batshit.  :\

Yep, every time when someone mentions that game people get energized for an apparent reason whatsoever. It's like this everywhere else, trust me.

It got really messy to find my sprite and comic topic, so it's in my sig.

Ike?  He hasn't given me much trouble online, a few can use him to annoying degrees but I manage to work with it.

Something I find odd is that I virtually never see anyone use the allegedly "top-tier" Brawl character online, that being Meta Knight.  Personally, I suck with him to extraordinarily shameful levels (I'm talking THREE Easy Mode deaths on All-Star), but that's hardly unusual since the tier rankings have pretty much meant jack [parasitic bomb] to me from day one.  Besides Marth, anyway.

In "Mario's" defense there is a legitimate reason for practicing such tactics:  Snaking revenge.  Thankfully most of them have moved on, but if you are unfortunate enough to run into them again, annoyance is your only recourse (well, besides hacking a Battle stage and waiting for them to do something that crashes their game, thus forcing a disconnect/loss on their end).  I myself would turn my kart around and race backwards.  The decent players would take a hint after that.  The assholes paid a visit to Pipe Plaza. 8)

I don't play a lot of online games so I don't have too many bad online experiences.  Besides temperamental nights with the Smash Bros. servers, anyway.  >.>  The worst of those would probably be when they kept on kicking us out of my "Dragon's Lair" stage while we were trying to have a 2.0 Damage Coin match.  I don't really understand that at all, maybe the Nintendo servers just couldn't cope with the sheer number of flying character ricochets.

Then there's Pokemon Battle Revolution.  Some guy came at me with a Spore Breloom and Fake Out Mew.  Took me three tries to dismantle it, and when I finally had victory in my grasp, the connection was conveniently lost.

But I'm not even that adept at snaking... :|

So "snaking revenge" is (or was) common practice on wi-fi?  I don't even remember snaking that much during the match, and the guys playing weren't even that great.  Still, that's a technique (snake revenge) I'd expect from from a 5 year-old.  I still find it funny that I ended up winning anyway, the "revenger" disconnected sometime during the next race.

Well, I'm not saying it's THAT common.  And if there was no reason for it, hey, some people just like to wreak havoc for the sake of wreaking havoc.

That kinda disappointed me about Mario Kart Wii, the fact that its filters kick anyone doing anything goofy.  It's not like those people are EVERYWHERE or anything.  Those who manipulate the system are far more annoying than any who simply disregard it to screw around could ever hope to be.

one time, the lag in Brawl was so bad, one frame of animation took upwards of 5 seconds to register.

Like every second game of CT when I get charged by someone in another room or get jumped when I'm clearly berserking or whatever atrocity Ubi manages to come up with.

People call me a [Top Spin] sometimes, too, I guess, but who cares? If you start crying because someone on the internet was mean to you you need to get some self esteem.

Oh yeah also also also the DoW2 automatching. You're not meant to give me someone who's 55th in the world in my second game. Like seriously. Come on guys. That one's not that bad, but, y'know, it's recent, so it gets bonus points.

I'm going to have to give a double nomination here. Surprisingly, neither of which is Mario Kart, though some of the boys can vouch when RPM was having a Mario Kart night and I vowed to take down someone we met on WiFi and when I did, he disconnected.

Double Nomination time:

-Gears of War: Although this wasn't so bad when I was playing Annex the night the mode launched (the people playing were awesome and full of sportsmanship, even the other team), the ranked matches are [tornado fang]ing retarded. Pretty much, the only "skill" is to know how to shotgun someone and god forbid if you didn't.

-Mega Man Star Force 2: (rubs hands) Oh, this is a good one. Usually, I couldn't care less about Auto-Tribe King users. They're pretty easy to dispatch and counter. My beef is with disconnectors. Yes, you're doing fine and taking me down gradually in HP, but god forbid I lock you in place and I drill your 2800 HP down to 200 in rapid succession. They immediately disconnect. Now, if it's a new player... 600 HP, mediocre card set, I'll happily accept it, since that's a really unfair pairing (I'm sporting around 2100-2300 HP...something like that). But when it's seemingly evenly matched and I take you down?

As a side note, most of these bastards are sporting a [TUS] tag in their name. Never knew The UnderSquare bred so many babies who can't stand being paralyzed in place, grass paneled, drilled by LeoKingdomGX and the DarknessHole'd.

I'd have mentioned Brawl for bad connections and people targeting me for playing Sonic, but I let my actions (and subsequent victories with the blue blur) speak nicely there.

Mario Strikers Charged is sometimes pretty annoying.

First off, I like to play fair. My team usually consists of either Luigi or Wario, then Shy Guy, Koopa and Monty Mole. If I score, it'll be the pass-shoot way. I'll admit, I'm pretty aggressive with tackles, but that's as far as I go.

- Boo/Dry Bones/Waluigi teleporters need to DIE. The game is Mario FOOTBALL, not Mario TELEPORT THROUGH THE KEEPER EVERY 10 SECONDS
- Whenever I DO play someone who uses a similar team to mine, they usually disconnect once I take the lead. (say, 5-2 in my favour)

Why can't I play someone who acts like I do?  :'(

Last night.

I was trying to complete the eighth story quest (Act 7) in Shin Megami Tensei Online.

The lag was so [tornado fang]ing absolutely horrible, I'd revive, and I'd start walking somewhere, only for minutes later discover that I got killed at the exact same spot I was laying dead and the game was delayed in displaying this on my end.

Story one...

Tribes 2, back during its peak.

Katabatic.

We're outnumbered.

Most of our base disabled.

Assassins are in the base to keep people from repairing the generators.

Everyone else outside is pounding us with everything they could throw to keep us from escaping to break the siege.

A tank just past the mountains with spotters who actually know how to use their damn laser pointers aiming their mortar for them, two bombers overhead with shrike escorts, and not only a mobile base but several deployed inventory stations to ensure they can resupply at any time.

We're outgunned, out maneuvered, and unable to recover. They have us entirely out performed. They're GOOD.

My team's response is not to struggle on, it is not to quit, it isn't even to try to switch teams. No, it's to degrade into a self-destructive orgy of violence, trying to team kill each other while blaming everyone else for the enemy owning us.
