someone on 2ch brought it up like a couple weeks ago. (but i've seen it before that once before)

And i wish i could have you guys play my mm3 hack that i started in august 2005 ....but i sadly just have several more years to go until i could ever hope to be done. :( I do not show screenshots on message board sites cause it's pointless for me to when it's going to take me like a decade to finish this by myself. Only want to when im close to being done :(

Sorry :( I'll try to make it short then.
Just was saying that how the reason the game designers prob never used it in the end because it was such a big graphic, it will wrap around from one side of the screen to the other in a very short amount of time of walking in a direction, and it prob would of seemed too weird for people to imagine that the earth rotated in only a minute or whatever.  ???

It's nothing special really. The planet graphic was there originally in the rom. It was placed on the 2nd screen if you look in a level editor.

The reason it never showed up though originally is because the stage uses a special parallax scrolling effect right??

Well the NES can only scroll the current screen as it is. And it will be repeated infintely, in other words it will never draw anything to the screen above the division line between the parallax scroll, and the normal playfield. If the planet graphic was placed on the very first beginning screen, then it will appear, and stay there being scrolled very slowly, but infintely wrap from the left/right side of the screen to the opposite side.

The original game designers probably did not have it there for the final version of the game because since it's a giant graphic, it would feel really weird to keep seeing it appear on the oppositie side of the screen repeatedly as if world rotated fully every minute.

It's very close to being like parallax BG's on the SNES...except the major downside is ...because of NES limitations, you can virtually never have any level design in the "affected" area of the screen that's doing the parallax. It has to be a completely black screen, or a repeated pattern. That is why many of the NES megaman's fortress bosses like wily, use those scrolling techniques, however it can only be on pure solid black with no BG design whatsoever.

Wether some people already know this or not, i just felt like explaining for anyone that may have not actually understood or knew how it worked.

Is it seriously that short? :( I was expecting it would be at least a few hours with the shop system and extras and everything. (i still dont own the game or a 360/wii/ps3 for the matter so i dont have any idea, and dont wanna know) ..but i just had to reply to your comment  :o

Well i dont know about the 2nd ZX game as i dont own it. :( But i just beat the first one earlier tonight for the first time now. And about this topic dicussion i'd say ...that one sidequest where you gotta deliver a letter from a guy on the airship, to this girl in town over and over like 10 times literally >_< ...and how the girl kept saying "what's his problem, you dont know how to treat a lady, leave me alone" etc.

I was all like ..i honesntly agree with this girl...that guy's plain stupid seriously. He'd never get that girl ... I sure did get a TON of E-Crystals from it...

Someone apparently coded a small editor allowing anyone to be able to help out with creating the levels, there's even a documentation guide explaining how to use it, but course it's in complete pure japanese :P

« on: November 09, 2008, 09:58:21 PM »
I onced tried those hard hat games before along time ago, but i can never really play them. If i recall, the keyboard setup is all totally reversed similiar to how the controls were screwed up for the gamecube version of mm anniversary collection. And that the program does not give you any options whatsoever to change the keyboard setup, and that's why i didn't ever bother playing, and it really didn't run well on my computer anyways either....

Original / Re: Megaman 3 Insanity IPS Patch
« on: November 09, 2008, 11:47:02 AM »
Well you have to had made changes to the mm3 rom via an hex editor (i recommend fceuxd), then using lunar ips's "create ips patch" button you select the original unmodified clean mm3 rom, then your asked to select the modified rom that you did the changes on, click OK, it'll then create the ips patch.

If you're only going to change a couple bytes in the rom, then you really dont need to make an IPS patch download, but instead just tell people the exact offset locations of the bytes you edited for people to then edit.

But then again, sometimes people dont want to go do the changes via hand by hex editor because they may not understand hexcidemial, or how to use a hex editor, then a patch may be okay

It's bogus, i ran it through a hex comparison, no change.
Then opened the IPS file in notepad, and say PatchEOF meaning that you posted a usseless ips patch that does not alter megaman/rockman 3 in any shape way form.
If there were any changes, they would be in "after" the word patch, and before "eof". so in the middle
