Hello, sorry for this years late reply but. I want to ask how can i get this "without" requiring steam ?? I have the original game with the 1.05c version english patched...and i'm more than willing to pay for this again for the 1.06 update originally from the japanese author's site but... I cant get this through steam.

I think i suffer from one of the 1.05c bugs mentioned on the japanese site about "the game will not run in certain enviorments" which was fixed in 1.06 - because sometimes i'll be able to run/open it just fine, but say a week or so later it wont ever run anymore unless i completely reboot my PC... this was fixed in 1.06 i understand, and thats why i wanted the new english version (not japanese)

Why does the "playsim" page just link directly to the steam website at all ?? I thought it could be bought/downloaded seperately there instead as an alternative, this playsim site is completely useless. :(

I wanted to get the actual folder with the game like it was originally...how can i do that, or if there's any other sites to get this from ?? without being forced to have steam or whatever.

I've attempted to comment on the blog where TDOMMX is from, but it always says "cant connect to blogger.com" whenever i try to post... -- all the links from the rosenkreu wikia page i found are all "page not found" ...and his own "contact us" page on his blog is gone too. :( (page not found)

yea i'd perfer the original layout, ...not this one. :(

the bolts counter really freaks me out. i didnt even notice until after i saw the trailer video for the 3rd time ... 6 digits ...it's scary to think you can have just nearly 1 million bolts instead of 999.

I gotta say that i really think those custom art pictures for the intro story are super cool and detailed. :) it's great to see especially kalinka outside of regular sprites from NES megaman 4.

Ah interesting, yea your absolutely correct. It is kind of a bug in mm3 originally ..well maybe not exactly, but the whole "cant shoot with 0 hp" thing happens with regular buster too.

But the thing about dieing at the same time as touching the black teleporter thing is a bug for legacy collection, and not megaman 3 or others.

It seems like the explosion balls thing will still activate the teleporter after dieing. I think i've seen that in a few other youtube videos before on the other mm games.

ohhh, auto save. Okay then. just didn't know.

And im on Windows XP - as i mention, it was perfectly fine on the first run for some reason. i had the box checked in the installer about "run megaman revenge of fallen after installation closes"

so it was all good and fine there, just "2nd time" and beyond...never wants to anymore. :-/ -- i see the huge image of megaman and the robot masters pop up covering the entire monitor screen, but that's it.

edit btw: maybe was cause i run it in "sandboxie" maybe ? I dont ever install programs on the hard drive directly anymore. I only do it through this program called "sandboxie" - dont know if that's the cause

hrm.. played it once, everything's fine and all, i wondered why there was no Save screen or anything like that after the intro stage..

so i go play the 1st level, knight man --- later get a game over (no problem cause i just began anyway)

Still curious why theres no script on the game over screen to save game, so im confused...i notice there's no "X" button on the top right of the window ...took me a few minutes to realize that I had to press ESC key to stop playing for now.

So i wanna open the game again cause im still pondering the saving issue....and now the game never will open anymore period...

just wily 1 only and that's it ? wow. i didnt know that.
maybe was because of the protoman fight before dr light's lab.
Weapon and life get refilled 1 frame before the screen fades out when megaman teleports away after the protoman fight.

That's probably why.

Anyway your welcome, if you ever want to do this for any of the other NES mm games. i can make IPS patches no problem for any of the 6 NES games you want to do this on. (cause of all my many years of romhacking experience, i can do anything to any of the NES mm's)

is all this stuff you've done going in someone's fan game...or your own ??

or is it just all "only for fun" type of stuff and non-serious ??

i do not understand, sorry :(

here you go for your playing pleasure.

It's really not even worth of making a IPS patch for. i only changed like 3 tiny little bytes to do what you said.

** Weapon energy never refilled after beating levels (but it will happen on game over)
** no item drops from enemies.

We have to see if that $2,500,000 can be reached before that.

i really want console version. but i have doubts that it would make it to 2.5 mil :(

i perfer console instead of PC..

Original / Re: Why does everyone like Mega Man 3 so much?
« on: August 27, 2013, 08:58:15 AM »
when i was 5 or 6 years old, i went over to my next door neighbors house one time to play my friends NES, and megaman 3 which he had, was the very first megaman game i ever played in my life. :)

that's why 3 was my favorite, because it was my first experience ever for a mm game. :)

im personally a romhack guy myself, as opposed to "fan games".

I dont like fan games that much cause of many reasons. Sometimes people dont have a "customize controls" feature. And some fangames i've tried out years out, i quit and deleted them immediately just for that reason..like jump and shoot would be backwards..or some other dumb setup.

I dont like games that force full-screen on ya. I perfer playing window'ed mode. I know everyone will probably disagree with me. sorry, no offense.

I have other reasons but i'll stop talking.

I like romhacks better. as far as the japanese community is, megaman romhacking is far more active than anything-english. There's always new romhacks being made every few months today still since the late 1990's/early 2000's.

http://rockman2ips.tripod.com/hacklist.html - the earliest one dates back to 1996 according to this page, it's in the megaman 3 section

part 2 of the megaman unlimited Time Attack / Speed Run.

The tricks in the glue man stage are freaking awesome.
I was amazed at how he gets through the "secret path" in glue man.. without ever needing any "spike guards" ... :)

he even does  "rush coil to rush jet" trick at the beginning of the secret path, which in megaman 10 is very difficult to do in real time.

Sorry i hope im not driving away the conversation from you guys or anything. :(

This speedrun is really exciting and fun to see. He's got every little possible detail about the entire mm unlimited memorized. :)

i've seen quite a few youtube videos of people trying speedruns of unlimited, and none of them compare to this japanese player's skills.

I want to share this video with everyone, i just saw this morning.
A japanese person doing a Speedrun / Time Attack of mm unlimited.

It's pretty darn awesome. :)
the Jet man battle is totally amazing how he does it. :) i watched that part literally 5 times over.
i wont spoil how it looks.

i finished the game this morning.

I dont think it was bad at all unlike alot of people here.
I thought it was pretty decent and alright.

I guess it's just because i've been so used to playing endless amounts of megaman rom hacks (japanese ones usually) for several years. So i didn't find myself fustrated or anything in any levels honestly.

I got through the yoku man level even, on my very first try, cause i started with 9 beat's and 9 spike guards.
Reached the boss doors with just only 2 spikes, and 3 beats remaining.
And 1 HP seriously. proof:

the RAM and CPU usage about this really bothered me too. always running 100% CPU nonstop, or about 50 to 60% overall total.
the fan on my laptop revs up to maximum loud-ness.. 2700 RPM to 3800 RPM...

no other fan game, or the rosenkreustillete PC games, have ever come anywhere near as close to this. or ever done this.
---------------

but im enjoying the game, honest! :)
i do not have any complaints about gameplay or music, etc at this momment.
music's awesome

I never experienced any slowdown whatsoever on my 6 hour playthrough. It seemed totally perfect the entire time for me... except that it made this laptop go up to 190 degree's Fareignth only on a couple specific levels. :( Usually would average at 170F for all the other levels..

But it never lagged, crashed, slowed down or anything.

I had to play through the whole game 2 times over because i got stuck at the 8 boss rush area with no e tanks... and that one at the start of the level never re-spawns after game overs..

So after 50 game overs of trying and trying to do the boss rush without E tanks, and 2 lives... i gave up and restarted all over to collect them from the levels.. and not use them until then.

I used only 1 for the Boss Rush, and 4 more on that final boss fight, so i barely beat it.

i seriously did not have any idea that you could get energy refills by shootin the floating balls in the background... which someone mentioned in this thread a couple pages back. I never even thought to try such a thing like that.. darn - oh well

check out the videos posted by this particular guy, he went through the whole thing without ever getting hit, but... he used savestates though un-fortantely. :(

japanese rom hackers are just naturally the type to always make extremely difficult hacks. I dont know but it's just like their nature or something like that, megaman... mario... whatever it may be.

Seems like everyone is wanting to color the gameboy stages these days heh..

Just this morning on the japanese rockman remodelling dicussion thread on 2ch, a person named "ririka" just posted these 3 screenshots of himself/herself coloring a couple random gameboy screens too...

Take a look:

http://kohada.2ch.net/test/read.cgi/gameurawaza/1307808908/564-565
The screenshots are within these 2 posts.
And has plans to make his/her own mega mania project too...

I search myself tons of times, in relation to megaman odyssey, as it helps to figure out if there was any new videos of my rom hack showing up one day.

Holy cow i was just laughing out loud so much trying to follow all the multi paths just for even the 1st level.
About the wily stage mockup image earlier..

That's the most freaking epic type of level i've ever seen for a megaman game...seriously. :P

I was even thinking just the 1st level is enough to be the size of the whole entire wily castle ... 4-in-1 :P

but there seriously has to be several "restart" points spread out in tons of places for such a gigantic humungous level size like this. :)

no...i never died a single time while playing the stage for my first time...

try it yourself...get to that point in the stage where there's a ladder...walk to the right...dont go down....you find beat and pick it up...you keep going right and see another ladder...ignore it and keep going right...and the screen scrolls right...into blank emptyness....just keep running around and your just stuck forever...

im not lieing, that screenshot was my proof. I dont have the time to test it again right now..

yea, saw the little icon of the wing, and got it. I never used it though.

I just kept walking to the right instead of going down the ladder right next to the icon...cause i was just curious, ya know ?? And it just ended up making me go into nothing-ness..and i was forced to just close the whole program..

oh...and the very start of the level..i dont know what or how it happened but...sliding got disabled for whatever reason, and i couldn't continue ...but luckily i had rush jet to bypass a sliding part. :(
