Like the Shy Guys! And Birdo! I'm a bit sad that the other bosses never returned to the Mario series.
Personally, I think it's a tie between Peach and Weegee. Indeed, Peach's flying ability is strategic when it comes to certain areas, but jump height can net you many things you wouldn't normally be able to get, not to mention that his floaty jump was nearly as useful as Peach's flight.im with Shiki on this one Luigi was a great when it came to secret route for me and Peach on the ice and sometimes desert

The fact that the likes of enemies such as Cobrat, TryClyde and ESPECIALLY Mouser, have never been seen again, hurts me to my soul.Quoted for truth. I miss my Mouser and TriClyde a ton...

I'm pretty much split between Peach and Luigi when I play. More often Peach, I guess
How about that one part where they totally skipped Mouser in World 3 and replaced him with Mecha Birdo in Super Mario Advance? =w=;Actually, the second Mouser is in the game, he was just moved to World 6. They booted the second Triclyde. :'(
Sorry PB. But Toad doesn't hold a candle against Luigi floaty movements (IMO)

If you have to know, I support all 4 of them.
When I play a full game, I tend to switch to each character on each level.
Mario first, then Luigi, then Peach and then Toad in that order.
That way, when the game is over, all of them has 5 points in the ending. ^^
But in any case, if you really want to blaze through the game, in the quickest way possible, all you really need is Toad, actually.
Toad has the unique property of not only lifting things better than any one else, he also goes FASTER, the heavier the item is! With the right item, he's both the fastest way to get around on foot, as well as through those annoying digging passages. XD
If all you want to do is clear the game in about a half-hour or less (using warps), Toad is your mushroom-man. And if you got either Newtype-esque, pixel-perfect timing (or TA-ing through an emu), you can make it so Toad can get double-jumps to give him more maneuverability. Then that just makes him even better. 8D

WHAT THE?!
...shortly after I got out of the Negative World, I quickly picked up a small turnip as Toad. Next thing I know, it's stuck on his head, and any items I pick up still work, but I can't see 'em!
...huh?
Also, someone explain the double jump.
Ahhh yes. The game where "Luigi Blew It" came from! 8DNow I need to know what this inside joke is about. It has something to do with singing along to the underground song, right?
Actually, I think Toad was the best myself. His superior fast pulling ability made him so very very good against enemies and bosses. Not to mention he can snag you a few more coins if you enjoy the bonus game.

This can be abused to place Subspace doors where they weren't intended to be, among other things!
