Apparently tomorrow those with a 360 and Xbox Live will be able to get an update, provided they have a hard drive, that'll change the 360 dashboard into something like this: http://www.xbox.com/en-GB/live/NXE/ (http://www.xbox.com/en-GB/live/NXE/)
What're your thoughts and opinions about this? Remember, the update's tomorrow!

I was actually just asking in the channel; Since this comes out tomorrow, will the update be available right at midnight, or sometime during the morning?
I haven't had the 360 for long, not familiar with the update system yet.

Beats me. I'm terrible with updates, unless they have to do with Playable Blues or Dr. Mario RX Online.

On a related note, I couldn't care less about the update, I can't get my 360 to go online, much less receive updates.

Microsoft/Rare(I think) already have, and even said it's been in the work since before Miis IIRC.

<.< if they've been working on it for over 3 years, then it should've been there in the first place. Mii's were on the Wii literally when it came out. Heck, the game that came with it used nothing but randomly generated Mii's along with your own created ones.

They do to me. I just see so much of a resemblance, it annoys me. At least Home on the PS3 has different looking people.

Simply means that Mii's... apparently... were a good idea, so other companies are using similar concepts.

Personally, this "NXE" crap seems pointless to me. There's nothing wrong with the blade menus.

Just thought that I would leave this here for those of you who might be most interested in the NetFlix capability the 360 will get. As it turns out, Sony made a pretty low blow strike today making sure that all Sony Pictures releases would not be appearing on the 360's NetFlix Menu. Yeah, I admit I was like "...oh, neat.", made my avatar and went on my merry way.
I will admit, though, I do love the quick-shutdown function they added to the blades when you push the Xbox button. I also like that you can remove games from your profile that have 0 Gamerpoints to your name. I've been wanting to lose Mortal Kombat 3 after sampling the trial.
Also, for those interested, I tested a few games by installing them to the hard drive. Across my three games (Devil May Cry 4, Tales of Vesperia, and Sonic The Hedgehog (2006),) none of them had really noticeable changes in loading speed. For the prior two, the load times aren't that bad to begin with. For the last one, though, it's infamous for its gigantic load times. Installing them to the hard drive doesn't speed it up whatsoever, as expected. Still, it was worth testing it out.

They look like 360's answer to Miis to me, but I'll probably be interested in trying it out on my friend's 360. It seems they have more customization options than Miis do.

Just finished DL'ing it. Took me 3 god damned hours >_<
So far, I like the menu changes visually, But It feels even MORE Cluttered than befor.

But over all, awesome. I didn't give much of a [tornado fang] about the avatars, but they're getting addicting. Wiiaboos can [sonic slicer] all they want, doesn't change the fact that the avatar creation is far supperior then the shitty Miis.

it probably didn't even take me that long. mine was really fast.
i've had the new dashboard freeze on me once. very weird, but nothing shutting off the system didn't fix.
and i discovered that you can make your avatar burp. funniest thing i've seen in a while.

i also somehow got him to hit his head on the screen. don't know how i did it, though.

Don't know the burp, but to hit their head hold up for a second or two, then go down. Do the same thing with left or right to make your avatar spin with a gleeful expression on their face. XD

Only thing I'm a little sad about is that you can only make one avatar per account. I wanted to mess around with the creator and make a few more, since the choices are much MUCH more varied than the Mii's. Perhaps in a future dashboard update?

More than likely. If there's one thing that enough people love to do with Miis or any sort of character creation program it's create things out of sheer boredom, and I don't think MS would be so stingy in that regard especially considering the audience this is designed to capture.

I'm pretty sure it's just a predefined background. After a while it loops back to the Xbox shantee.

The potion to change the colors would have been awesome as well.
Randomly, everytime I start a game via what ever the last option is in the main screen, it freezes. I always hit the guide button to start them.
Also you can now delete games from your tags as long as they have 0 ahceivments. I got rid of all those demos, and that stupid kengo game.

I can't remember who asked, but if you buy a premium theme, it changes the background for your friends to other stuff.

I think Setsuna asked, but yeah I saw pics of that happening. Sadly though, I'm cheap. It'll have to be something really really good to warrant me spending for that.
