Taking a cue from this Kotaku post, (http://kotaku.com/5091872/hearing-voices-+-the-top-faceless-game-announcers) I thought this would make for a fun RPM topic. Who are you favorite game announcers? You know, the guys/gals in the background telling you how it is, giving helpful advice, or just giving off such positivity that you can't possibly fail.
Like Power Stone 2, for example. That's my favorite game announcer right there. It's so [tornado fang]ing uplifting and positive, I can do anything! Plus, he's just totally awesome.
So ANNOUNCE your favorites!
-
Mortal Kombat guy who says, "Whoopsies!" Does that count? Or the Smash Bros. announcer. Because when you fail the target test, the way he says FAILURE really makes it sound like you truly failed. Do those count?
-
The correct answers from the Nintendo 64 camp are Super Smash Bros. 64 (FREE FOR ALL) & StarFox 64's Narrator (Corneria. Third planet of the Lylat System...).
-
Announcer guy from SSB64 and SSBM.
Just so awesome.
-
In no particular order from the games I've played:
-Smash Bros 64 announcer
This one needs no explanation, if you don't recognize its awesome there's something wrong with you, or as he'd say, "Failure".
-Soul series announcer
"Trascending history and the world, a tale of souls and swords eternally retold *insert Soul Edge intro here*," and all his prebattle speeches make him awesome.
-Mortal Kombat series announcer(s)
There's just something awesome about him, the fact an awesome song has been made with the main theme and his voice alone gets him another point, not to mention "Finish him/her!""Fatality."
-Pokemon Stadium announcer
How can you not like someone as excited about his work as he is? XD
-
All great choices.
"This victory has strengthened the soul of Swordmaster!"
-
I like the guy from Guilty Gear... and besides that... I love it when someone selects Olimar in brawl.
OHLAMAHR
-
SSBM example.
Select Pichu, and then Ness really quickly.
Pi-NESS!
-
GAME OVER, YEAH~
-
Metal Slug series.
HEAVY MACHINE GUN!
You're Great!
Mission, all over!
-
I am ashamed of all the article and some of these posts for not mentioning probably one of the best Engrish announcers ever.

Power Stone's.
-
That was PB's vote, in the first post.
-

-
He said 2. Not 1. 1 was more awesome than 2.
-
You didn't specifically say 1. You said Power Stone's, which could be interpreted to mean the series, not just the first game.
-
If I wanted to say two, I'd have said "Power Stone 2." By saying "Power Stone's", I was saying the first game. Simple linguistics. :P
-
I see your point. What I'm saying is that if you were saying what music you liked, Rockman's and Rockman 1's could be the same, or it could be different. Specificity can be your friend.
-
Pokemon Stadium. Now there's some classic enthusiasm.
Pokemon Battle Revolution... just LOL. It's so obvious that it's just two completely different clips stuck together. GARDEVOIR is hurt by the poison!
Super Monkey Ball. That is one fabulous "Ready... GO~!"
-
Soul Calibur
"A Tale of Souls and Swords eternally retold"
Link vs Talim.
-
COMPLETE.
FAILURE.
[tornado fang] yeah SSB64.
-
I post a youtube link, and that makes me very awesome!
Now I'm stepping in and ruin your post!
Hah, I'm correcting your mistake!
But you didn't correct it well enough.
Yes I did, but now I'm doing it in a more smart ass way, so I win by default.
Point taken...
Seriously, who cares?
-
I like DDR announcer.
"Your grandma is hot!"
-
He's not an announcer, per se, but Mel from Hot Shots Golf 3 is funny.
"CREAM CHEESE!"
-
He said 2. Not 1. 1 was more awesome than 2.
No way, Squeaky Tattle Mouse! 2's was superior to 1's.
-
The announcer guy from Sonic Advance 2 & 3. Press the reset combo and you got this guy on loop. 8D
"SONIC ADVANCE.. SONIC ADVANCE... S- SONIC ADVANCE!"
-
SSB64, and, contrary to what most people think, the announcer from Street Fighter Alpha 3. :P
-
the announcer from Street Fighter Alpha 3. :P
One of my favorites as well due to the cheese factor with which he delivers his lines. I also like the announcers for Gundam Battle Assault 1&2, especially when they state, "You need some practice," after you lose to the AI opponent.
-
"It all depends on your skill. FACE IT STRAIGHT!"
-
"You have FISTS OF GOD!"
-
"It all depends on your skill. FACE IT STRAIGHT!"
yush.
that voice that says "ready" in X5/6
-
No way, Squeaky Tattle Mouse! 2's was superior to 1's.
I'm sorry, but the overblown "KAAAAAY OOOOH!" is priceless when you destroy someone in your powered up mode.
-

Oh, I agree. So is the totally drunk "Are you ready?" before you begin. Be that as may, the 2nd game's announcers quotes on each level, plus the positivity on the way to the next level is just so [tornado fang]ing hilarious.
"What a massive enemy! But it's not unstoppable. AIM for it's head!"
-
"You have FISTS OF GOD!"
"You can't give it up. Fight, or DIE!!"
GOOD GOD, that guy was awesome. XD
-
"Beat 'em up, guys! Go for broke!"
-
Sounds familiar, but why can't I remember which announcer it was? :(
-
A few lines I like:
ARE YOU READY? IT'S COOL!
LET'S ENJOY A GREAT SHOWTIME!
Bonus:
DECIDE THE DESTINY!
-
Sounds familiar, but why can't I remember which announcer it was? :(
Street Fighter ZERO/Alpha 3! o.o
-
No wonder, I've never been able to play much Alpha 3.
-
HEAVEN OR HELL, LET'S ROCK!
ROCKET LAUNCHER(Metal Slug Arnold Schwarzenegger)
