Title: WarioWare Do It Yourself (Made in Ore) Nintendo DS & Wii Ware
Post by: N-Mario on April 23, 2009, 10:09:19 PM

Looks like this is going to be one inetresting game. It lets you make your own WarioWare mini games for the DS, and possibly Wii.

It has pre made games though, but you can make your own. You can even make your own graphics. I'm pretty sure pixel graphics are do able in this game too. So for example, the player could re-pixel draw megaman in their own mini game. There is a video somewhere showing someone drawing the pixelated balloons from Baloon Fight.

This game is out in Japan as of April 29 as Made in Ore. There is no word on US date as of yet.
http://www.youtube.com/results?search_type=&search_query=warioware+myself&aq=f

So, some player would really have to be motivated to draw, or pixelate megaman in their own wario mini games. ;)

And we have our first entry in the list of known megaman minigames for Made in Ore (Wario Ware Myself). :D

This game is one of the major reasons why I want a DSi badly. XD

Wario Ware for the DSi is apparantly crap if you don't have good lighting. This game is completely different though. All DS systems can play it. The Wii thing is just an extension of the game. It lets you play them on a big screen and upload them for contests. Still looks awesome though. There will definitely be some Mega Man goodness in my games.

I'm curious..... Are the games you make touch ONLY? Or can you make a game which you can use the control pad to move? Because that would change a lot of the aspect of what I originally thought this game could make for micro games.

Since I tested on the Wii Ware version (as you can see on my GIFs), the games are ONLY touch.
You have to also make sure that you touch inside the game screen, and not outside.

Hmm........ Well...... In that case I suppose someone could draw out an NES controller on the touch screen, make all the controls (direction pad, A & B buttons) working in the touch screen. Although you'd have to hold your DS awkard, and use your fingers instead of a stylus to move the character. Similar to that iphone MegaMan 2, but this would be a fan made micro game.

Why have I not seen a Golden Sun micro game yet?

YOU'RE DISAPPOINTING ME, JAPAN. :|

That said, I think this is probably one of the best moves the series has made yet. I'll definitely give this a pick-up if it works on other DS' (and I don't see why it wouldn't.)

Now you can draw your very own "Made in Boxart" and print it out on paper! >U< (http://www.nintendo.co.jp/ds/uorj/package/index.html)

(http://lol.rockmanpm.com/MadeInVixy.png) (http://lol.rockmanpm.com/MadeInVixy.png)

You can change the size of the red pen. If you make one mistake, you have to start all over because there's no 1-step-backward command. When you're really proud of your work, write the name or word of your boxart (example "Made in -word or name-) and then click the big yellow button in the corner. Press the yellow button that shows up on the next step on the right, and be ready with the printer. ^o^

I was able to get this game for the DS now, so I'm gonna skip past a few tutorials in-game and then I can create the silly RPM games. ^^

Any ideas on what kind of micro games you like to see? I can send it over to the Wii Ware version and play it there. :3

I wonder how people draw that well on the DS.  I tried using a homebrew animation program before, and it was really hard to make anything.

It IS hard. But you know, you could go for some trial and error.
If a line is wrong somewhere, you can erase it and fix it.

Oh yea, the tool you're using for drawings is "Wario Paint". You will love it. ;3

I'd like to make a microgame where you have to draw a pentacle on the floor with goat's blood. Get it right in five seconds and Satan gives you ultimate power; get it wrong and Jack Chick beats you to death with a banana!

I'm going to have so much fun if I can get my mitts on this game.

This is DSi only or is it DSL only? I know that the game can not be on a rom file since it uses a inbuilt memory that it can't emulate.
If DSi only sure i'll buy one. Ive wanted to upgrade my DS Lite for some time now.
It works just fine no real issue, but more and more DS games requires the DSi.
It's like Ps2 is almost dead and Ps3 is taking over.

Wut? The "inbuilt memory" has already been emulated a few days after release. 8D
It's a 32MB .SAV file. Game plays perfectly fine in R4 and Acekard2i with it. :3
It connects just fine with the Wii Ware game too.

I'm releasing this .mio pack that I organized myself, and it will be updated whenever there are new things showing up.

madeinore_wariowarediy_mio_dlc_collection.zip (http://lol.rockmanpm.com/madeinore_wariowarediy_mio_dlc_collection.zip)

Quote from: What is a .mio file?
.mio files are a special type of files that is ripped from the save files of Made in Ore or Wario Ware DIY. Games, Manga and Records can be ripped from these save files, thanks to the programs miotool and CrygorTool.

These .mio files can be Games (64 kB each), Records (8 kB each) and Manga (14 kB each). Any of these .mio files can be transferred to another save file with miotool/CrygorTool, or edited with another software called mioedit (as long as you are allowed to edit the Game, Record or Manga). These .mio files are a way to back up or preserve these creations so that they will always be available to anyone who wants to play them.

This is a way to keep these .mio files intact, as well as being able to share them to those who owns Made in Ore/Wario Ware DIY, but can't find a way to access these files. A service is available so that for those who are interested, they can have these files sent to their game with a little Friend Code connecting. But if you are able to open your own save file with miotool/CrygorTool, then this pack is here for you to add them to your save file yourself.

So what kind of micro games is in the zip file?

(http://lol.rockmanpm.com/G-Shigatake-0017-000.png) (http://lol.rockmanpm.com/G-Shigatake-0036-000.png)

You want these games sent to your DS/Wii game, but can't use miotool/CrygorTool?

Heh, as of right now i don't own a legal copy of WarioWare DIY (playing it on flash cart that only works on ds lite). But my birthday is coming up soon (April 16) and i'm asking for it for my birthday.

But until then I guess I can extract my games from my save as mio files. Will that be alright?

That's perfectly fine. And then they can be sent to your legal copy later.

You can also send them the Wii Ware route. ^^;

Hey, is Sendspace okay with you? Or do you have a preference for uploader?
http://www.sendspace.com/file/yz14vx

There's 6 of them. 3 of them are Mega Man general. The other 3 have Gyotot in it.
Ill probably make a video of these later when I get home from vacation. ;)

Though there was something that bothered me about loading the boss stages.

Whenever i load & play a 'boss' game normally on the DS, it acts like a normal game, except the timer does not run out. It doesn't recocnize the game as a boss stage. I think it only recocnizes them on the Wiiware version.

Is this normal? Or can the fan made boss stages (using the template) be recognized as a boss stage on the DS version?

I think it takes note on the music looping point. When you won the game and the music gets to the loop point, then the game stops. ^^;

It should work on DS too. </wii>

That's not what I mean. This is what I'm talking about.
You put a -BOSS- stage in your copy of the DS WarioWare DIY. When you beggin to play it, the words "Boss Stage" do NOT appear before the game. As I said, it seems to load as a normal micro game. The onyl difference is it's timerless.
But from what I can tell (have not tried this yet, but looking at other fan made boss stages), when you upload a boss made stage to the Wiiware DIY Showcase, it seems to recognize it as a boss stage? In other words the text "Boss Stage" appears before the game starts.
I don't know what triggers the "Boss Stage" text to show up on fan made boss stages. Maybe it only works under certain conditions? X_X

Do we need to keep mentioning about CrygorTool? For all I know, its still in development from the bloggers page. From what I can tell from searching around the home page I don't see any download links for this tool. We just know its a WIP tool, right? Or has it been released?

I'll check the music when I have time.

BTW, are there any way to play these files without having to import them into WarioWare DIY? You know just to check/try them out but not actually keep them? Because I think the whole process of exporting/importing, saving, then running in DIY takes a bit of time. Esp since we're loading them into DS flash carts. Not to mention I doubt there is a way to try all your collected games/records/comics with a legally owned Wario Ware DIY cart.

Another one my my microgames

Both files in the zip should be the same game. One was extracted using a beta version of Crygortool. The other one extract using miotool, in case the other one doesn't work.

a few more games to add to your archive.

- One is just another timer less game template with a win and lose button.
- There's a Mario game where you collect the star coin and exit out into the pipe to win.
- The last one is a cute Ninji dance game. You sync with the other ninjis as they do the wave motion.

Since you weren't in the chat at the time I post this, I'll go ahead and post them here. :)

EDIT: Mario game fix.
http://www.sendspace.com/file/g00y9h - The fix for this game just makes it so you can't tap Mario again after you tap the pipe. There was a bug if you tap Mario while he was swimming toward the pipe, you could still win by tapping Mario to swim forwards, and still touch the pipe.

Here's a new RockMan game I developed. I couldn't think of a name other than 'MegaMan Rock' XD
http://www.sendspace.com/file/or22ox
UPDATE - http://www.sendspace.com/file/1z1hpp - Screen transition after door opens is faster now.

Tap MegaMan to shoot. Tap the screen to make him move.

I was basically experimenting here, trying to see how screen transitions would work in a DIY game. The BG is kind of simple.

Oh yea, im at the beach for this week only, and I was able to connect my DS online. So yea. Temporary or for whatever long ill have these for this week.
Here are the FC's that I have for WarioWare DIY.
DS Lite - 3309 7413 1054
DSi XL - 0646 8616 2129

REVIVE!
Becausee I have a question
Is it possible to import mio files into the Wiiware version of the game?
Or am I doomed to wait for proper emulation of the DS version (because as of right now, you can't save [parasitic bomb]).
I so want to make and play some of those games but... ehhh.

One way is to send the games/music/comics from the DS version to the Wii Ware one.
Acekard2i is able to make a 32MB savefile and then you can use that to insert/extract mio files with Crygortool/Miotool.

If you don't have a flash card that supports DIY yet (which is strange, since it should work with mostly everything by now), you can ask someone who owns the DS version to send it to you from Wii to Wii (you need Wii friend code for this). ^^;

I update my blog sometimes, so you can find the latest things nya~ >U<

http://vixynya.blog6.fc2.com/

There's still some Japanese games from another archive I have to extract and fill up my zip archive with.
They have mixed creativity, cuteness and some adult things too. ^^;
Title: Does anyone still play wario ware DIY?
Post by: marksmith on July 04, 2013, 07:56:27 AM
I know that the gamefaqs board is nearly dead, though still just barely alive. I was also wondering if there was any way to get more japanese games outside of Vixynyan's archives. I have found someone who still makes games in DIY, but I think the only way to get his games is to add his FC,which is posted on his site. Also, I found a wii save file for someone else's games that I would really love to play, but I can't put the save on my wii because it is for the japanese game. Is there anyway to extract .mio files from wii saves?  :\

Man, this topic brings me back!

I miss playing this game. This thing had so much potential, yet it was extremely limited. I was even working on a big Mettaur Boss game, and I just never finished it. I was running out of lines. Such a sad waste of potential. :(

The game could have been less limited, and not so fast pased, more buttons to use from your DS to your games rather than tapping screens,  and called it something else. Though Petit Computer does not help ether. I can't understand a bit of anything in that, and that's the only alternative of fan gaming on your DS.
