Been playing Arkham Origins since Thursday. What a fantastic game, though not without flaws (mainly technical, sadly).

Actually, I've been working on it the last couple of weeks now that you mention it.  I've just about got the next strip done and it should be up in a few days.

I'm glad that someone's still interested enough to dig up the thread and ask about it. :P

Well, I've been a fan of your comic for quite a while now, not only because it looks good but also because it has an interesting story and I can dig the whole female Zero approach. It really would feel very disappointing if this comic would just end in the middle of things with no proper conclusion. So please, continue ;)

*digs up this corpse of a thread from the graveyard*

Since I know that Kieran still frequents this forum now and again...

It's been almost a year since your've updated your Comics. Are you still planning on doing something, or can/must I consider "The Other Side" to be dead? Would be a shame, really.

Split timeline theories... I'm getting some baaaad Zelda vibes here.

Quote
Command Mission has always been classified as a "gaiden" or "alternate universe" because it takes place in "22XX", the distant future of the X-series.

A "Gaiden" is usually considered a "sidestory". Majora's Mask is a sidestory to Ocarina of Time, but is still part of the official timeline (screw that one, by the way). I have no knowledge of the contents of R20+5, so I would welcome some elaboration. Yes, I can see why one would think it doesn't really matter to the overall franchise because the story is hardly connected to the rest of the series and the Force Metal concept was unique to this game, but I still don't really feel that it should be considered non-canon. I would consider it "an episode" in the line of duty of X and the others since there's not even a mention of Sigma and the overall Irregular War, but still...

Not to mention I'm having a hard time believing that any sane person would go out front and tell people that a game they made in a long-running franchise can be completely disregarded. In some way, that invalidates the entire game. That in turn would turn Command Mission into either a "what if" scenario or "originally-canon-turned-semi-official-fanfiction".

Then Zero being studied for more than 50 years (of a maximum 102), Elf Wars and another hundred years of slumber... we arrive at 2267 or later...

I would like to enquire any sources you can provide in regards to the duration of Zero being studied. I'm aware of that line from the mystery scientist in X6 that it would take roughly 102 years (I recall it being 104 years for some reason) until whatever procedure Zero was subjected to would rid him of the virus, but what's with him being studied for more than half a century?

Have to wonder however if X6's Zero Ending really has to be regarded as canon, no matter where it is placed in the timeline. I mean, the purpose of Zero sealing himself in X6 was to get a thorough checkup and have whatever traces left of the Zero / Irregular Virus inside him wiped out so he wouldn't continue to spread it anymore and give rise to people like Sigma and Gate. I don't recall him consenting to being studied by the powers in charge to develop counter-measures against it (i.e. Ciel's ancestor) or Anti-Irregular weaponry (i.e. Vile). Am I to assume Zero went to sleep and then the government stepped in, dragged his unconcious body off to some secret laboratory and stuck probes in his circuitry for 50 years?

Zero / Re: Mutos Reploids and Mythology
« on: September 27, 2013, 07:16:15 PM »
The Anchortus brothers being inspired by Samurai seems like the most plausible thing I can think of (at least visually), though neither of them seemed to be acting upon the ideals of Bushido and the way of the Samurai from what I can remember. Then again, Boomer Kuwanger wasn't going by that either. The lightning angle you mentioned is interesting though.

As for Cactank, the CLOSEST thing I can even think of is the old Tenochtitlan/Aztec myth, in which the god Huitzilopochtli guided the Mexica/Aztec to a place where they witnessed an eagle devouring a snake while sitting on a cactus, which was regarded as a devine sign to build their new city there. From Wikipedia:

Quote
The Mexica/Aztec were said to be guided by their god Huitzilopochtli, meaning "Left-handed Hummingbird" or "Hummingbird from the South." When they arrived at an island in the lake, they saw an eagle which was perched on a nopal cactus full of its fruits (nochtli). This vision fulfilled a prophecy telling them that they should found their new home on that spot. The Aztecs built their city of Tenochtitlan on that site, building a great artificial island, which today is in the center of Mexico City. This legendary vision is pictured on the Coat of Arms of Mexico.

How this is supposed to Glacier le Cactank however, I have no idea but I have nothing else I could even think of.

Anime & Manga / Re: Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion

Hmmm.

Lelouch Voice Actor Jun Fukuyama Joins Code Geass: Akito the Exiled Cast

So, I guess people at Sunrise finally caught up to the idea many fans had that it was pretty stupid to just "waste" Lelouch by having him geassed by Charles to just sit around in Ashford for an entire year and instead make use of his skills as a Britannian military commander. "Code Geass: Megiddo", anyone?

If you don't mind me hijacking this thread for my own purposes, while on the subject of old Sprite Comics, does anyone happen to have an archive of an X sprite comic called "Forte: Dark Messiah" by a guy named Wedge? It's been dead for a few years now and not even a Google search has yielded any results so far.

Zero / Ragnarok Record Translations?
« on: September 06, 2013, 09:05:55 PM »
Well, it's been a good few years now since Remastered Tracks Rockman ZERO PHYSIS came out and I was wondering, did anyone ever bother translating the Ragnarok Record drama tracks from it?

Yes, I'm aware that most of them are just reinactments of the cutscenes from the game, but some of them had some tidbits here and there that were not part of the dialogue in the game. "-At Control Room- Laevatein" has always been the one that interested me the most, but thus far, all I could find online were RUSSIAN translations on YouTube.

My Japanese is rather limited, but I could make out a few things in there that were interesting me, but since I'm no expert, I was hoping someone with actual Japanese skills could provide some insights.

Only knew the guy as Mr. Freeze, but man, what a loss. Such a memorable voice.

Perhaps in bad taste, but I am a bit surprised that he's being outlived by Efrem Zimbalist, Jr..

Seeing that Flame Blast (Final Smash?) over and over again gets me so pumped.

Thank you very very much Saber.

Courtesy of Protodude, but you're welcome all the same.

In other news, glad as [tornado fang] that Link is lefthanded again. Yes, I care about stuff like that.

42
Yeah Mario's "GEEEEEEEEEEEEEEZE!" was [tornado fang]ing priceless. That needs to be gif'd. I give the Internet an hour before it is!

Here you go:

HOLY [parasitic bomb]

is all I can say. Seeing Rock finally turning up in something again is good enough for me to buy the game alone, for the 3DS at least.

According to that EXE art book Slur is supposedly genderless like Serenade, other than that I got nothing else and just call her a she.

To add to that, that one brief scene where we see Proto-Slur before permanently fusing with what appears to Slur's creator, "her" voice sounded awfully male and that definately was not Watanabe Akeno.

That said, I always regarded Slur as a female, and I'll stick to that.

I have been wondering about this one. Is it a solid figure, or is there the regular Servo/Gridman figure underneath just with the additonal armor pieces attached to it?

His Shadow Ball isn't a full ball, it kind of looks like a prune I guess.

While a sad sight, this is definately not something new. The promo pictures already showed it not to be an actual "ball", though I would still question the reasoning behind that. D-Arts Full Armor X had that big Level 2 Charge Shot effect coming with it, yet Mewtwo can't have a full 3D Shadow Ball. I guess they figured they are already going "the extra mile" by including a base.

Sooooo mantastic though...

Maybe it's just me, but to me it looks like this MG Tallgeese II has a lot less color separation than the Tallgeese I kit.
