WII-KLY UPDATE: TWO WIIWARE GAMES AND ONE VIRTUAL CONSOLE GAME ADDED TO WII SHOP CHANNEL
Dec. 29, 2008 - Champagne? Check. Confetti? Got it. But you're not fully prepared for New Year's revelry unless your Nintendo game library is stocked with games to please everyone under the sun. As always, the Wii™ Shop Channel is open 24 hours a day for your downloading pleasure. The final slate of new game offerings for 2008 includes a couple of wild multiplayer titles on WiiWare™, plus an enthralling sci-fi title for the Virtual Console™. Load up and enjoy!
Nintendo adds new and classic games to the Wii Shop Channel at 9 a.m. Pacific time every Monday. Wii owners with a high-speed Internet connection can redeem Wii Points™ to download the games. Wii Points can be purchased in the Wii Shop Channel or at retail outlets. This week's new games are:
WiiWare
Maboshi's Arcade™ (Nintendo, 1-3 players, Rated E for Everyone, 800 Wii Points): Featuring three distinct modes and simultaneous play across three game windows, the constantly changing environment of Maboshi's Arcade creates an atmosphere unlike any other. Each of the modes is based on one of three familiar shapes (circle, stick and square) and offers the same goal: score a million points. Use the intuitive controls to bash enemies in Circle mode, weave your way through Stick mode or burn a path around obstacles in Square mode-all while dealing with power-up items and keeping watch on which effects the other game windows may have on your own. Also featuring Mii™ characters, action replays that you can send to your Wii™ Friends via WiiConnect24™, and the ability to download a version to a Nintendo DS™, you may never want to leave this arcade.
Cue Sports – Pool Revolution (Hudson Entertainment, 1-4 players, Rated E for Everyone, 500 Wii Points): Grab your Wii Remote™ controller and take a shot at this virtual billiard game. Enjoy match-ups, playing classic favorites such as 9 Ball, 8 Ball, Rotation and Snooker, as well as walk-through trick shots in Puzzle mode. Connect to Nintendo® Wi-Fi Connection (Nintendo WFC) to go head-to-head with your friends, or even hustle opponents across the world in Nintendo WFC match-ups. This game offers two types of controls, allowing you to virtually strike the cue ball with your Wii Remote controller or use the buttons to adjust the strength of your shot and then strike. Hone your skills in Practice mode, learning all the cool techniques you need to be a true hustler. Use the edit feature to create your own challenge and nail the trick shot you've always dreamed of sinking. Pull off an amazing shot and show everyone who's the biggest shark in the pool.
Virtual Console
Zoda's Revenge™: StarTropics II™ (NES™, 1 player, Rated E for Everyone-Mild Cartoon Violence, 500 Wii Points): Take on the role of Mike Jones, intrepid hero of the StarTropics universe, and once again battle the evil alien Zoda to control the fate of the Argonian people. In this journey, the island hopping of Mike's original adventure gives way to traveling through time and visiting locations around the world. And you never know what famous historical figures may appear along the way, giving Mike helpful advice or useful items. Luckily, Mike also has a wider range of weapons and improved play control on his side, so he may yet stand a chance against Zoda. Can you help Mike stand the test of time and save the world again?

Jan. 5, 2009
A new year means even more new games at the Wii™ Shop Channel, starting with a pair of imaginative titles to kick off 2009 in style. Anyone who loves Kirby™ can keep the confetti flying to celebrate the release of the classic Kirby's Dream Land™ 3 for the Virtual Console™. And if you're already desperate for a warm mid-winter getaway, check out Sandy Beach, a sand castle game on WiiWare™ that's loaded with sunny fun.

WiiWare
Sandy Beach (Konami, 1-2 players, Rated E for Everyone—Comic Mischief, 500 Wii Points): Enjoy a fun day at Sandy Beach as you build elaborate sand castles. You can work peacefully on your sand castle or enter into a battle with invading crabs in Crab Battle mode. Players will strategically build their sand castle and use cannons to defend it against an army of destructive crabs. After successfully defending your sand castle, discover beach treasures and additional cannons with your metal detector to customize your castle even more.
Virtual Console
Kirby's Dream Land 3 (Super NES™, 1-2 players, Rated E for Everyone, 800 Wii Points): Kirby, Dream Land's resident hero (and everyone's favorite puffball), must once again save the day when the mischievous King Dedede starts causing trouble. Kirby must travel through an assortment of levels, battling an exotic array of enemies (both new and familiar) determined to stop him from completing his mission. Always armed with his trusty ability to swallow enemies and gain special attacks, Kirby can also unite with some of his animal friends and make use of their particular talents. Featuring detailed graphics, challenging boss battles and the distinct charm of a Kirby game, it's no wonder this title is considered a classic.

-Kirby Dream Land 3 Released-
What’s your weapon of choice? Is it a laser gun? Or maybe just a simple deck of cards? No matter what type of game gets you fired up, the latest additions to the Wii™ Shop Channel are sure to add something new and exciting to your arsenal. With fast-flying cards, tumbling pachinko balls and sinister vampires in your midst, you’ll need every tool at your disposal.

WiiWare™
Jungle Speed® (Playful Entertainment Inc., 1-8 players, Rated E for Everyone, 1,000 Wii Points): Jungle Speed is a lightning-fast card game for the entire family, where quick reflexes and a keen eye will put you on top. Flip your cards, watch your opponents and grab the totem at the right moment to win the game. Just when you think you’ve got it down, a new card can temporarily change the rules and keep you on the edge. Play starts when the first person flips a card. Moving around the table, symbols are revealed until two of the exposed cards match. Players with matching cards must then scramble to grasp the totem in the middle of the table; the loser gets the winner’s cards and anything in the pot. With paws flying, be the first person to get rid of all your cards and win the game.
Planet Pachinko (Allied Kingdoms Inc., 1-2 players, Rated E for Everyone—Fantasy Violence, 500 Wii Points): Can you survive the Pachinkeet Temples of Planet Pachinko? In the future of the future, an ancient civilization has sealed away its riches in elaborate temples dedicated to the game of pachinko. Now the Robot family must fight through these dangerous temples in search of their lost puppy. Using their rockets, lasers, grenades and slime launchers, will they be able to survive the challenges? They aren’t the only ones adventuring through the temples. The pirate Vile Vill and his minions are looking to loot the temples and take on the Robot family. Play in single-player mode or with a friend in exciting two-player co-op.
Virtual Console™
Castlevania® III: Dracula’s Curse (NES™, 1 player, Rated E for Everyone—Fantasy Violence, 500 Wii Points): This is the third game in the popular Castlevania series and the last of the franchise released on the original NES console. Take on the role of Trevor Belmont, forefather of Simon, and battle Dracula in a time long before the events of the first two Castlevania games. In addition to his trusty whip, Trevor has a previously unseen power—the ability to transform into one of three different companion spirits that he meets during his quest: Syfa, a young vampire hunter capable of powerful magic; Grant, a ferocious pirate who can climb on walls; and Alucard, forgotten son of Dracula, able to shoot fireballs and transform into a bat. Use an assortment of weapons (some specific to each character) as you choose which path to follow in your fight against Dracula and his army. Loaded with replay value and featuring some of the best platform action ever, this title is not to be missed.

The ESRB has been a great place for us to find out about upcoming Virtual Console titles. While they are mostly spot-on with their listings, there were a few VC games that never actually made it onto the service. Below are the titles that were removed, and the titles that are still rated but haven’t hit the VC yet.
Removed: Aerofighters Assault, Beetle Adventure Racing, Hagane: The Final Conflict, Tin Star and Uniracers
Rated, but not on VC yet: Pilotwings and Pro Wrestling

OMG! *nerdgasm* MUST HAVE!Can you tell me if FF4: After Years is good? I'm planning to buy it, along with the soon to come Cave Story...when it gets here that is. (Still have 2000+ points for you here Pixel Team/Nicalis)

Pulseman™
Original platform: SEGA Genesis
Publisher: GAME FREAK
Players: 1
ESRB Rating: E (Everyone) – Animated Violence
Price: 900 Wii Points
Description: When noted 21st-century scientist Doc Yoshimaya fell in love with one of his C-Life artificial-intelligence creations, he uploaded himself into his computer, where her program core merged with his DNA, and half-human/half-C-Life Pulseman was born. Doc Yoshimaya's mind twisted as he emerged back into real life, and he became evil Doc Waruyama. Use Pulseman's ability to harness electricity as a weapon with his Volteccer attack as a means of rapid transport to fight Waruyama's Galaxy Gang across seven crazy stages. Find out why this SEGA Channel classic was widely regarded as one of the best-looking games for SEGA's MEGA DRIVE (Genesis) on release.
http://protodudesrockmancorner.blogspot.com/2009/07/virtual-console-on-way-out.htmlThe very little respect I had left for Nintendo has now turned into hatred (moreso Nintendo of America)
I'm keeping my eye on the Homebrew scene, now. I'm tired of having 4:3 only, no online play, no lightgun games, this is just ridiculous. And despite Nintendo's complete disregard for the emulation of peripherals (to say nothing of handheld games), they probably blame it all on HBC's emulators. Hey, when a bunch of guys working for free out of their basement offer more accurate emulation than Nintendo themselves, what do they expect?
And they're wondering WHY the VC doesn't do as well? WELL GEEEEEEE, let's think about it for a sec!
In Japan, the same refund offer applies, and Nintendo is providing more opportunities for free Virtual Console games. Since early this year, Nintendo of Japan has offered 500-point bonuses to Wii owners for helping others get online. Starting October 21, Nintendo will expand this program with new rewards: those who achieve "Helper Meister 10" status (by helping 10 others connect) will gain access to every Nintendo-published Famicom game. "Helper Meister 20" will unlock all Virtual Console games on every platform! That should get people going door to door.
“Funny thing…you’re the fourth person to ask this question in the span of a week. We recently had a meeting with Nintendo and one of the things we discussed was getting some more of our classic NES and SNES games out on Virtual Console”
Whats the point of that if its out on the DS?They already did that for Super Mario 64 (not to mention every other Mario game sans RPG is on GBA). And even though SM64DS is infinitely superior (you get through the worst of D-Pad conversion after World 2), the original on VC still holds its spot in the Most Popular list.
Power Rangers (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2YFaIcCoPfA)Ah, memories... That boss theme kicked so much ass.
Nice to see that for once somebody didn't half-ass their way through VC features. I'm honestly surprised Nintendo allowed anything that in-depth considering their laziness with peripherals.
Of course, I lack Shop Channel access for fear of the 4.2 update [tornado fang]ing with my Boot2. >.> WAY TO BOOST YOUR BUSINESS, NINTENDO.
Sonic & Knuckles is coming on Tuesday in Japan, and TBA worldwide.
Hm, now I wonder how the Sonic 1-3 lock-on will work. A menu maybe? ^^

Has Megaman 4 Come out Yet?.....haven't been on there in a while.Nope. Who knows, maybe they'll release MM4-6 when MM10 comes out
To all U.S. Wii Virtual Console purchasers of Sonic the Hedgehog games:Hmm...Now i can abuse Knuckles again..
Today, your purchase is vindicated.
Sonic & Knuckles is now available, and it "Locks-On" to Sonic 2 and Sonic 3 so that you may enjoy S2K and S3&K as well.
That is all.
Will there be a stream on release?
US Wii owners, you can all download Castlevania: Rondo of Blood from the Shop Channel now~ ^^b (http://gonintendo.com/viewstory.php?id=117309)
You're too slow.
Um, it came out in Japan this week. o.o;I didn't mean anything bad... I was just saying... <3 it!
Sorry if this has been asked already, but is there any kind of topic like this for XBLA or PSN games? I got a huge library on XBLA myself, but only about 5 Wiiware/VC titles.Bumping this request a week later.
Actually it's like 2 weeks later. Why not make it yourself?...because honestly, it would most probably fall into obscurity unless called to proper attention or expanded this topic itself for all short downloadable console games.

You could always ask for a sticky.A sticky with just a few posts and generally updated by me and my imaginary friend Steve alone wouldn't work well. =P

Maybe we can change this topic into the Wiiware/PSN/PS1C/VC/XBL collection thread. :PI'd like that.
DLC Content Thread?DLC is regularly considered just add-ons and expansions instead of actual games, but sure.
800 Wii Points, give me suggestions for a VC game.CONTRA REBIRTH
CONTRA REBIRTH
MAKES CHEST HAIR GROW UNCONDITIONALLY
Lost Winds is also pretty cool, brah.
Got it confused with the XBLA points, where 800 means ten bucks.
Only America would come up with something like [8=10]Americans and their fingers and foot measures. 8D
Why can't you accept our superior metric system?
Got it confused with the XBLA points, where 800 means ten bucks.
Anyway, get Gunstar Heroes.
Only America would come up with something like [8=10]You honestly think the metric system would have stopped Microsoft? If they're that obsessed with some Ounce-to-Cup-times-ten formula, then I don't think they'd give it up that easily.
Why can't you accept our superior metric system?
On principle I avoid homebrew-emulating Virtual Console games unless I already own them in some other legitimate format. Gunstar Heroes has been on there for a long, long time.Except that VC titles don't allow for save states or button mapping. That alone is a gigantic sin.
...hell, there really isn't much of anything in the NES/SNES/Genesis catalogue that the VC does better than the GX stuff. VC is faithful enough, but the laziness with peripheral emulation (light-guns, and although Wii64 is still buggy as hell, rumble) is hard to excuse. And I still don't get why Genesis games refuse to recognize the GCN control stick.
You honestly think the metric system would have stopped Microsoft? If they're that obsessed with some Ounce-to-Cup-times-ten formula, then I don't think they'd give it up that easily.
Having to use the Y and B button on a Gamecube controller is a nightmare.
You could always use <a href="http://www.uncrate.com/men/images/2009/02/famicon-wii-controller.jpg">this</a>
I bought Contra 3 on VC, and it was one of my biggest mistakes ever. Having to use the Y and B button on a Gamecube controller is a nightmare.Oh, I had the exact same experience. GCN controller is generally crap for any reasonably fast-paced SNES game, this is true. Anything that requires shifting between Y and B any faster than ActRaiser is off the table. That's pretty much the only reason I own a Classic, and even that was a gift and not something I was really willing to sink my own 20 bucks into.
You could always use <a href="http://www.uncrate.com/men/images/2009/02/famicon-wii-controller.jpg">this</a>Why can't the U.S. Club Nintendo get anything half as awesome? Tracking that thing down on the internet will likely run you 60 bucks, last time I checked.

My gypsy-bought liquid crystal screened Brick Game had that fifteen years ago.
VC "sort of" has save states for the older games, they're just not permanent. The above-mentioned ActRaiser would certainly benefit from a second save slot, though...

They're temporary save states, in which you basically have to leave the game like that, and come back to it later while leaving it untouched. My gypsy-bought liquid crystal screened Tetris game had that fifteen years ago.
Save states are meant to save your progress so you can go back to it if you lose. For harder games, they're a must, if you're not willing to go through the whole game with a few lives.
No argument here. But it is a true test of manliness to try and make it through the NES Lost Levels with no permanent states. Sometimes, though, you just want to get through the damn game.Yeah, but I'd like to be given the choice to go through the game with save states or not. =P And mappable buttons for any kind of game.
You kids and your stave sates
I think you should, and also get the extra DLC scenarios too.
Now that I *FINALLY* sank in the time to do a full playthrough of the original, my VC Collection (http://forum.rockmanpm.com/index.php?topic=5.msg39489#msg39489) is now equipped with Zoda's Revenge: Startropics 2.Yes. The music is epic too, isn't it? ^.^
Now questing for the queen of Egypt's pizza. Man, it was a great time, when games were not expected to make sense.
My DSi returns with working shoulder buttons and mic. My list (http://forum.rockmanpm.com/index.php?topic=5.msg39489#msg39489) is now equipped with Shantae and Battle of Giants: Dragons.
In accordance with my extreme Legends-fever, my dragon is named Marlwolf.
That fixed shoulder button repair will last a month.... Thats how much mine did till they started being shitty again.Oh I know, this is my second shoulder button repair. But once the 3DS is out, I won't care anymore.
This list will help you~ :3 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Xbox_Live_Arcade_games)
Omega Five (Since you got Ikaruga, you MUST get this! Bullet Hell shooter, recommended!)
And it's still not out on the euro VC. Boooooo Nintendo
I had to think about it for a while and I gave Soul of Darkness a chance, and it's a very fun game and worth the points. Good if you like Metroid/Castlevania type games where you enter different areas and get new weapons that you can upgrade with souls.Yeah, looked alright when I saw it, but... nobody here has Castle of Magic?
Yeah, looked alright when I saw it while helping my brother get some points onto his DSi. Don't have a DSi myself, but from the look of the game I had to say to him that it was definitely too tough 8D
Put the cursor on Navi Mode, hold the Select button and start that Mode.Thank you! I was wondering where the hell the arcade music was...
Put the cursor on Navi Mode, hold the Select button and start that Mode.
The only thing you need to worry about in Options is the difficulty setting, which you can set at the very top.
You can unlock Hard Mode later. There is also a Slow Mode that slows down the game. XD
*is happy she can use the Pocketstation feature~*
Wait, how is the Pocketstation usable? You need to have a Phat PS3, right?Because she has the original discs. (http://backloggery.com/games.php?user=vixynyan&console=PS&status=3)
Wait, how is the Pocketstation usable?
Um, I use a PS2? >U<
And the Pocketstation data for each CW game is 13 blocks big. It's enough to let you play the mini-game that's unique for the CW game you downloaded it from (there exist a total of 6 different mini-games), and being able to raise the strength and health stats of Rockman and the Robot Masters. You will be able to train the characters in a Versus mode similar to the SFAlpha 3 Pocketstation game, where you use 3 of your characters against 3 CPUs. Each character (Rock and the robot masters) will be able to have MAX HP at 80 instead of the default 28 (and you can raise their attack power to a ridiculous amount too), then you can transfer all that data back into your CW game and see some new changes that way. Robot masters being at the same strength as you is an interesting thing to witness. ^^;
Waiting paitently for RCW 3.As am I. 3 is my favorite.
As am I. 3 is my favorite.
I love 2, though I think 9 could have stood to kiss its ass a bit less. And wow, man, you're better than you give yourself credit for if ProtoMan is your Normal character. He's the harder one for me to use, due to the whole double-damage/knockback thing. I might like him better if his shield worked on the ground instead of the air; jumping to block just never stops feeling awkward.
Yay, it's out in Japan VC too. <3Japanese VC only or this is going to be out as an import title for US and Europe VC as well? Looks interesting. Unfortunately I'm saving the last 1,500 Nintendo Points that I have left for La-Mulana if it ever comes out. Speaking of which, forgot to update on what's going on with La-Mulana's development lately (http://la-mulana.com/en/blog/soon.html).
I'm waiting for Hebereke/Ufouria (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SAoDvMg1CTY) next week tho. 0v0

Um, you say that as if I don't already know since it was shown on E3 2 years back. >U<
You have to look into my Virtual Console and Wii list to see what type of games I play (Pretty much ANYTHING that's fun! no joke), so don't worry, I will be able to jump into all the games I want, the only thing stopping me is having enough MS Points ready nya. ^^;

Can Japanese Xbox 360 S (Slim) play North American games, or is it region-looked like its American cousin?
What about the store? Any way to get things from other region's stores? Because I'd really want this when it comes out D:Didn't this came out at Comiket 79 last year for Windows PC? Some of the guys at DoujinStyle bought / imported copies of their own

Yeah, but it won't work if you try to use it on somebody else's console.

* Two player cooperative play via Xbox Live.
* Online score rankings.
* Upload and download player data. This will let you watch high quality play from around the world.
* Greatly improved visuals. You can also play using the original graphics, though.
* As a hidden bonus, an Ikaruga shooting style mode.

Just tried out Excitebike and Pokedex. Love that my 'dex started with Hydreigon. 8)
Microsoft made a presentation earlier today to the Japanese gaming press regarding their upcoming Arcade titles. Chief among those presented was Treasure's Radiant Silvergun, a remake of the Sega Saturn classic. Treasure CEO Masato Maegawa introduced the press to the revamped Radiant Silvergun and explained some of the new features we can expect when it debuts later this year.Source: http://www.trueachievements.com/n4260/treasure-reveals-radiant-silvergun-details.htm
With vastly different graphical capabilities of the Sega Saturn and Xbox 360, it was an engineering challenge to replicate the Sega Saturn's graphics. The original Radiant Silvergun used many Saturn-specific techniques to achieve its high graphical quality which were nearly impossible to reproduce on the Xbox 360. Eventually, the team at Treasure cracked the code and will be presenting Radiant Silvergun with both a "Hi-Res" Xbox 360 mode and a "Lo-Res" Sega Saturn mode.
Online co-op play for two players is being introduced with the move to the Xbox 360, alongside the standard online leaderboards. Players will have the ability to download replays from the online leaderboards and can fast-forward the action, but will not be able to rewind.
The most interesting feature being added to Radiant Silvergun is the "Ikaruga" mode. This mode allows you to play using the chain-combo system from another of Treasure's beloved titles, Ikaruga. In order to unlock "Ikaruga" mode, you need at least one achievement unlocked from the XBLA version of Ikaruga.
Radiant Silvergun is due out this Summer, though Microsoft has yet to confirm a release date. It will be available for 1200 MSP.
The first 3DS download I actually paid for is......Tennis. What can I say, the music is catchy.
I didn't know where to put these, but it's XBLA so...Yay! >0< <3
Mortal Kombat Arcade Kollection, August 31 (http://www.trueachievements.com/n5136/mortal-kombat-arcade-dated.htm)

Oh, and Third Strike Online is out now!!! :cookie: <3
Radiant Silvergun for Xbox Live Arcade was given a release date today. It’s being released on September 14th for 1,200 Microsoft Points in Japan. The game has has 7 weapons that the player can use at any time.Source: http://www.siliconera.com/2011/08/30/radiant-silvergun-blasts-to-xbox-live-arcade-in-september/
Radiant Silvergun’s visuals have been spruced up in high-definition for the Xbox Live Arcade release (although, you can switch back to the older look), and a few new additions have been thrown in for good measure, too. Amongst these is a bonus Ikaruga style shooting mode, but no details on this mode are available yet.
The Xbox Live Arcade version of Radiant Silvergun includes both the Sega Saturn version of the game with a story, as well as the arcade version. It will support 2-player co-op over Xbox Live.
Also got Wily's Revenge. That would be the first copy of the game that I own legitimately (was one of those hoping for MM Mania).I have two originals *shrug*
3D Classics: Kirby's Adventure
Can anyone tell me any classic SNES games that I can download?
Depends.
What kind of games do you like?
Definitely go for Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars. owob
You can never go wrong with A Link to the Past, Super Metroid, ActRaiser, Super Castlevania IV, Super Mario Kart, and so many more to count~ :3
I'll maybe-probably get that.Gunstar Heroes is definitely worth picking up for 2D (Run-and-Gun) shooting action if you haven't played it.
Also I'mma just ask here so uh, is there anything worthwhile on PSN I could get for this $5 I've got left over? My usual preference for genre are shooting, platformer and stealth. Already have Sonic CD by the way.

I had just posted that above your post. :\Whoops. Got swept by the excitement. Deleting post.
Speaking of Shantae, I need to play it one of these days.
I knew a girl once who loved Shantae. She had it back when it was new. Damn it I should've never let that one go, but it's hard before you know how to properly impress girls. :(That's nice, dear.
Bought RayStorm HD due to paranoia of having the game removed from XBLA like all the TMNT games (why did the 1989 Arcade game have to go?! o//////o). I'll regret not getting NiGHTS or JSR later...

Playable Honey~!!! OMG YES!! :cookie:
Wow, that's a pretty radical collection. Except for the soccer game. I'll never understand people and their soccer games.
Virtua Fighter 2 is awesome. That was one of my first Saturn games.
How do you know Honey is playable?
So? Since when can you not play as player 2 by yourself? They're all arcade ports, right?
Toejam and Earl is no fun by yourself, just an FYI.
Updating my 360's list with Protect Me Knight.

why did you waste money on that?

I was able to help you with a couple of SnR matches if I'm not mistaken. ^^;

I hope we get the Oracle games. I really want to play them.
I needs me some Minish Cap as well. 8)
VC release of the Oracle games doesn't have the Advance Store activated. So its impossible to get whatever it was you could get in there. No Time/Nature Ring then; iirc the other things in there were a random ring and a gasha seed, both of which can be obtained elsewhere.

We JUST launched a Kickstarter campaign AND the Steam Greenlight entry for our next release, a trilogy of arcade shooting games called the Tale of ALLTYNEX!Source: http://nyu-media.com/news/just-launched-the-tale-of-alltynex-kickstarter-steam-greenlight/
The Tale of ALLTYNEX comprises of KAMUI, RefleX, and ALLTYNEX Second and is one of the most revered and respected Japanese shooting game series ever. Brain-transplanted fighter craft, reflective shield technology, and blade-based melee attacks take on a global militarized government, genocidal A.I. and ancient alien weapons of mass destruction! More AWESOME than you can shake a stick at!
The purpose of the Kickstarter is to support the final stages of the localization work and to help promote the games’ release. Reward tiers for contributors include the games, soundtracks, plushies, dakimakura, and a trip to the Winter Comiket event in Tokyo this December to hang with us and meet some of the cream of Japan’s indie developers in person! We also have stretch goals that will deliver limited runs of collectible physical editions of the games.
For LOTS of details, please visit The Tale of ALLTYNEX Kickstarter campaign at http://kck.st/ZMwFFR
Also launched this morning (it’s been a busy one!) is the Steam Greenlight entry for The Tale of ALLTYNEX this morning! Please visit the page and vote UP The Tale of ALLTYNEX to help us get on the world’s biggest digital games distribution service!

It only took them, like, forever to change that [parasitic bomb].
Microsoft are truly even more revolutionary than Nintendo and Sony.
-Sonic and All-Stars Racing Transformed is 75% off on Steam until Monday.Thought I'd clarify this: ALL Sonic is 75% off on Steam at the moment (http://steamdb.info/sales/)
Well considering that both are only on 3DS, I think that's a safe assumption.Yeah, but is it applicable to Physical releases? That's the main question, still $30 really helps offset the $50 cost of SMT IV.
Next week we're getting Shantae.
it'll be $4.99, by the way
which is perfect. if you get a $20 eShop card and use $14.99 for the StreetPass game bundle, you'll have enough left over for Shantae!
Assassin's Creed II is free to download until the 31st for Xbox LIVE Gold subscribers as part of "Games with Gold".
And no, I do not play the My Little Pony game. Yes, I was a brony. Operative term: Was. It's for my niece.
You're overthinking it.
Crackdown (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crackdown) is free with LIVE Gold now for the next half a month. Open world sandbox similar to GTA, huh? Seems interesting. And CO-OP? Hoo boy am I [and one other person] going to have fun.And thanks to Siliconera, Dead Rising 2 will be up for grabs for the second half of August.
Oh hey.
We're FINALLY getting KDL2 in the US this week.
You know, like two [tornado fang]ing years after everybody else.
NOA's Virtual Console, everybody. Give them a hand.
So this is a minor point of interest, but for you PS3/PSP/PSVita owners out there the entire Persona series (Save for PSOne Eternal Punishment) is on sale for about 50% off.
So that's $10 for Persona 1, Innocent Sin, and P3P and $5 for P3: FES.
P4G is also on sale for $20.
Is P3P basically the same game as P3: FES?
Play FES and then play P3P for the female side since that's got different social links. Also thanks to FeMC's different Social Links, there is something in the story that can be changed for the better. Not saying what though, but I find it to be quite worth it.
and I guess the original Persona games are far different from 3 and 4. More like the mainline SMT games.
Yeah. Also Wario Land 3 is coming on August 29th (finally).
We're also getting Donkey Kong NES on August 15th with TECMO BOWL to kickoff in September.
SMB3 is later this year for both Wii U and 3DS.
Wario Land 3 is finally coming out on August 29th.
SMB 3 is coming to both services later this year.
Don't bother with Either and get Steamworld Dig on 3DS instead, fun little title.
Is it worth the pricing?
No, get Summer Carnival '92 RECCA instead
Ha I used the credit on it too.
But I'd have gladly used my own money on it; really fun, really nice. Wish it was slightly longer, but it works for what it is.
Apparently they're finally going to release VLR on the eShop this week. The reason it wasn't beforehand was because of a nasty bug that could lock the game up if you saved in puzzle rooms (Or so I hear, never played the game.) so I assume its been fixed since that was pretty much the reason holding them back from an eShop release.
Some guysI almost didn't press that... So glad I did though

well i didn't think about X3 cause it wasn't out in Japan yet (X2 is, or will be soon). Figured it would be an easier request to handle if it's already on the system in some form.
But if X2 comes here, that can make demand for the following game that much stronger.
Today we are very excited to announce details on the highly anticipated 3D remake of iconic and arcade classics for the Nintendo 3DS. Each of these titles will be priced at $5.99/€4.99/£4.49 and available for download in the Nintendo eShop on Nintendo 3DS. Release dates for the titles are as follows:
3D Space Harrier, 3D Super Hang-On – 11/28/2013
3D Sonic The Hedgehog, 3D Altered Beast – 12/5/2013
3D Ecco the Dolphin™, 3D Galaxy Force II – 12/12/2013
3D Shinobi III, 3D Streets of Rage – 12/19/2013
“These games were completely re-built to offer a robust 3D experience that offers more modern gameplay while still keeping true to the original,” commented John Cheng, President and COO, SEGA of America. “We look forward to bringing these classic SEGA titles to Nintendo 3DS for fans – both old and new.”
3D Streets of Rage will feature fully remapping options for the controls, a CRT-like filter for the image, sound options, save states, level select, stereoscopic 3D graphics, both the Japanese or overseas version of the game to choose whom you would like to play, and a unique new feature. So yeah. Look forward to these!
This time, it’s one-hit deathblow mode, a new option where you can defeat the enemies with only one hit, giving a new pace to the game who will make it easer to less experienced players. Also, there is local co-op multiplayer available, so if you and a friend have a Nintendo 3DS and a copy of the game each, you can play together this classic beat-em up.
so remember sega's 3D classics that dropped in Japan some time back? good news, they're comin' this way.
Source (http://blogs.sega.com/2013/10/30/announcing-prices-and-release-dates-for-sega-3d-classics-on-nintendo-3ds/?0=1)
Also for those who are worried that these are just LET'S ADD 3D DEPTH TO OLD GAMES YAY, don't worry. There's more to these than meets the eye.
Take, for example, what 3D Streets of Rage offers. So yeah. Look forward to these!
Nice, Ecco the Dolphin.
I don't completely remember how the gameplay mechanics worked, but I recall enjoying it a lot, as a kid.

The Sold-Out Smash hit from Comiket 84 finally in English!
Developed by Japanese indie team Zenith Blue, Mitsurugi Kamui Hikae focuses on high-speed arena-based action. Use lightning fast sword slashes, hand-to-hand attacks and mysterious ancient techniques to defeat wave after wave of demonic foes.
Use skill points to learn new skills, upgrade your abilities, and take on brutal bosses. Weaken your enemies with vicious wounds, then sheathe your sword to finish them off with style. Employ hand-to-hand techniques to build your katana gauge, then cut deep with your divine blade.
Mitsurugi Kamui Hikae focuses on fast action and quick thinking. Enemies will work to surround you, work together to overwhelm you, and try their very best to destroy you. Fortunately, you have everything you need to destroy every last one of them.
Holy [parasitic bomb], they really failed to release a nes ROM this year after promising it six months ago.

Only 10 minutes in and I'm already in love with the music.
Blazblue: Calamity Trigger is out on Steam for $10. But if you buy it now its $9.
I hear it has some framerate issues (i.e. it locks to 30 fps after a certain amount of time; to fix this you have to restart your PC). Also it doesn't have online multiplayer.
This could mean it's a port of the Windows 8 version (http://www.trueachievements.com/BlazBlue-Calamity-Trigger-Windows-8/achievements.htm?gamerid=284902), and not the superior disc versions on X360/PS3 (http://www.trueachievements.com/BlazBlue-Calamity-Trigger/achievements.htm?gamerid=284902).
Yeah, I'll just wait until PS+ offers Pac-Man Museum for free.
Also, that's a shame about Arrangement, as that's one of my favorite Pac-Man titles.
I just went to have a look for that. How exactly do you find the psone classics on the store now?
I haven't used the store since before they moved it to SEN, and I'm being forced to shop on the website, which seemingly doesn't have them.
I'm not too upset in this case, as ambassador's already got those two.
Of note for anybody who doesn't already have it, buying Castle of Illusion nets you the original Sega Genesis version as well until the 29th, Its also free for PS+.
I have PS+ till the end of the month.
I'm still considering if I should keep it or not.
Huh, well I really like using it. Got a ton of great deals and tried a lot of franchises that I haven't experienced before.
Everyone should apply for the membership.
I applied for Japanese (main account), US and UK PS+ account since last year~ ~w~Well not everybody is made of money, you see.
You don't prefer it?
I guess its more that I don't really use the features of it that much, I dislike digital copies of retail games so the Instant Game Collection thing loses its value to me right there and the whole "You lose the ability to play the games/use the DLC you got through PS+ when the service runs out" thing sort of gets me the wrong way.
Downloads don't take too long for me. Not unless it's over like 6GB or something. And in that time, I just find something else to do.
Also, installation is the shortest process; only lasting about 5-6 minutes.
So apparently my PS+ is Auto-renewing.
I should fix that so it auto-renews a cheaper subscription.
Also, Atlus love this week as both Shin Megami Tensei Nocturne and Devil Summoner: Raidou Kuzunoha Vs. The Soulless Army released today on PSN.
Not sure if Nocturne is still the version that has Dante in it or not.
Another update of my 3DS collection~ :cookie: (http://vgdb.vixynyan.com/nintendo3ds/index.php)
20 cartridge-based games, and over 100+ digital games...
I can finally retire my Mega Man Mania GameStop slip! XD
Megaman V's up today. It shares its price with Xtreme at $3.99 instead of $2.99.
Xtreme 2 will probably follow suit or end up at $4.99
Wii U/3DS updates for the US this week are (obviously) Shovel knight, and apparently Castlevania 3 but since its the mediocre US version its not really worth it.Mediocre in what sense? The slightly less impressive music? The harder difficulty?
I actually prefer the difficulty, so works for me I guess.
Because I much prefer an exclusive physical Club Nintendo reward, like they've been doing for years, as opposed to something I can easily get elsewhere; and I don't like getting digital games, especially if there is an option for physical.
I missed out on the Mario/Luigi/Bowser statue and Luigi's Mansion statue, so you can imagine my frustration with just getting a digital title this year.
Yeah I sure love getting junk I never do anything with too.
Gurumin is up on Steam Greenlight (http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=286828342) and could arrive to Western shores on PC if it's greenlit. Vote "yes", join the Steam group and let them know you've voted to get a free copy once it's available on Steam (http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/updates/286828342/1405618284).
I played this game on PSP and it was boring as [parasitic bomb] but I hope it gets greenlit. If this [parasitic bomb] (http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=197667538) can be greenlit then, well, anything should be able to be.

Why was that greenlighted?
Ew, get it away.
Thief GoldDonate your spare copies of this to Irgy. He already has a million.
its because greenlight is [parasitic bomb].It's depressing to see crap like that and all of the shovelware from Xbox LIVE Indie Games being dumped into Steam and taking priority over the worthwhile titles.
just remember, somebody paid $100 to put that up.
Man, how do you keep up with this stuff?
Wing Commander 3: Heart of the Tiger up for freeUgh, don't toy with muh nostalgia...
Origin...Nope
I follow a thread on Something Awful for my info.I care but since I can't buy anything for myself 99.9% of the time, I don't see a point in commenting about it.
Then I relay it to you guys even though nobody ever seems to care.
For humble bundle they send me that stuff.
Still think I'm one of a few people who actually really enjoyed that game.
Hey guys, you know those awesome 3D Classics we got from Sega late last year? Ecco, Sonic 1, Streets of Rage, and the AMAZING Arcade remasters of Space Harrier, Galaxy Force II and Super Hang-On? You know how there's a second set of those, with Outrun, Afterburner II, two different Fantasy Zone games, and Shinobi III?This bullshit again?!
Well too bad for everybody not living in Japan, we're not getting any of that second batch.
Worse yet, the most recent release in the set, Thunder Blade, is the LAST one. No more, sales sucked, not worth it to Sega, no reason to bring them over here apparently.
Love the fact that you can generate a password with your Navi and Chip setup and then share it with friends~ :cookie:

Stuff that's coming up:*throws wallet repeatedly at screen*
Gargoyle's Quest 2 (Wii U/3DS, Oct. 30)
Demon's Crest (Wii U, Oct. 30)
Nintendo PR Typos ahoy.Is it wrong that I like Kirby's Adventure better than Nightmare in Dreamland?
Aria is NEXT Week, not this week. Can't give us two games in one week, that'd be too much! ::)
Also Harvest Moon 2 on 3DS this week.
Stuff that's coming up:
Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow (Wii U, Oct. 23)
Kirby: Nightmare in Dreamland (AKA the less difficult remake of Kirby's Adventure) (Wii U, Oct. 30)
Gargoyle's Quest 2 (Wii U/3DS, Oct. 30)
Demon's Crest (Wii U, Oct. 30).
Looks like its capcom love on the 30th.
And Amazing Mirror was just better, IMO
Yeah, Amazing Mirror was fantastic, everyone's opinion.
But don't you see? You are me.

I dont check that many threads.
And search brings up nothing.
Trick or treat . . . or BUNDLE! Because a night of trick or treating usually only brings in candy (or if you’re really unlucky, boxes of raisins), we’ve got some games to add to the mix. Pay what you want for Knock-Knock (making its DRM-free debut), Home, and Vertical Drop Heroes HD (with a new, special Halloween mode!). Beat the average price, and you also get Our Darker Purpose, Five Nights at Freddy’s, and Betrayer. Pay more than $15, and you get all the games listed above plus Among the Sleep. And if you want to eat candy while you play, go ahead — we won't stop you!
Not gonna validate it with steam though. :I
Doublepost, but the (formerly) PS3-Exclusive Sega RPG Valkyria Chronicles is coming to Steam on November 11th at a price point of $20.LOL Take that, Square!
Its confirmed to not be a [parasitic bomb] port, with 1080 and 720p support as well as 60fps and whatnot.
The other games looked interesting enough. My rule with humble bundles is not to buy them if they are related to something I don't like in the least (Pewdiepie) or if the content is stuff I already own. I don't own any of these games and while I also don't want to own FnaF, the other games beat it out 5:1.>_>
SO I BOUGHT IT.
Not gonna validate it with steam though. :I
Europe's got MM7 and X3 this week.You missed Shovel Knight :P
Can I trade the game on with someone else for another game since I already have Metro 2033?
You missed Shovel Knight :P
*watches Freedom Planet trailer*My thoughts exactly when I saw the early Kickstarter trailers and played the older demos.
:o waaaaaaaaaaaaaant
Yeah, Freedom Planet is basically a sanic game if it had a kid with Rocket Knight Adventures from what I've heard/seen.If your kid end up as Liliac the dragon girl; Carol the wildcat and Milia the dog girl have thier own unique take on game (Liliac is about speed, Carol is more action-focused, and Milia, from what I've seen, has puzzle-solving elements).
My thoughts exactly when I saw the early Kickstarter trailers and played the older demos.
And good news for Vita owners: you can now play La-Mulana on the go (http://www.siliconera.com/2014/12/04/la-mulana-ex-coming-west-january-2015/).
Harvest Moon 3 on the 3DS VC.
The Steam Winter Sale has started from today until January 2nd. MGSV: Ground Zeroes for PC also releases today at a discounted price of $13.39 USD. I am also broke.
[Vigorously farms CS:GO drops]
The Slowpoke 3DS theme that's going up this week is neat
Key Points:I seriously hope that "HDTV 480p" part is just cut-and-paste laziness from the PSN version on their part...
- Six challenging levels with multiple difficulties, featuring rich HD graphics
- Engaging fantasy-based storyline
- Rich, detailed art in the hand-drawn Japanese anime style
- Presented in “2.5D”, rendered 3D polygonal graphics presented in a 2D game
- HDTV 480p
- Steam achievements
- Steam Cards
- OST
Flipnote 3D is exclusively for CN members? From the sounds of it yeah. At least for free.
Club Nintendo's dead.
If you have an account you'll be getting Flipnote 3D (finally!) in February.
Also a bunch of stuff will go up in February as well so look out for that.
Yeah, I only bought the first tier since the BTA was $11 last I checked because lots of people are buying the $12 for the TFU games and I don't really have any need for those.DISGUST.
That's a good question. I enjoyed that game a lot.
It's not on Steam and I'm too lazy to torrent it.
$2 is not an excuse to slap something together randomly and make absolutely no effort to make it fun. What's the point of creating a game, at all, if you're just going to be lazy?I really want to get Hamster Drop but unfortunately I have no smart phone. Also adding to this, I bought Peggle Deluxe at a Dollar Tree versus spending $10 on Steam and surprisingly found that game addicting and fun. Heck, you can find physical copies of (classic) Beat Hazard for less than $5 on Amazon.
Objection Man's Hamster Drop game is super inexpensive, too, yet he put in a lot of effort. It's simple and addicting.
Club Nintendo members, Flipnote 3D is now available.
Check your To-Do list to receive the code.
Humble Squeenix Bundle 2 is live.I would've been on board for this if Thief were below the average so I can finally buy that game for a meager one dollar.
$15 nabs you Tomb Raider 2013 and Sleeping Dogs, alongside Thief 2014 and Deus Ex: HR DC for the BTA.
I would've been on board for this if Thief were below the average so I can finally buy that game for a meager one dollar.
>implying it's even worth a dollar
More JRPGs has just hopped on the GOG bandwagon: The Ys series (http://www.gog.com/news/release_ys_series) (Ys I & II Chronicles+, Ys Origins, and Ys: The Oath in Felghana) is now available on GOG.com and on sale 25% off.If they were on for a bit cheaper, I'd probably buy them again.
DKC2 is still my favorite. Hell, one could make the argument that it's the best platformer of all time.
Very true, it's easily one of the best designed 2D platforms I've ever played. But the music---so good!
Which DKC was the best? I keep hearing great things about them.
And I already know that the music alone is [tornado fang]ing orgasmic.
Club Nintendo elite rewards are out.Once I made my decision it took me about two days to actually be able to redeem it. Gotta love how finicky the Club Nintendo site is, but it seems to be behaving better this morning.
Also... better news, we're getting more Sega 3D Classics on the 3DS this summer! Get ready for 3D Streets of Rage 2 in July, 3D GUNSTAR [tornado fang]ing HEROES in August, and 3D SANIK TWO in September.(http://i.imgur.com/WI8im7U.gif)
Friendly reminder that MGSV:GZ is free on PS+.
And my wallet takes $20 of damage as I finally pick up Revengenance
PREPARE YOUR WALLETSThe time has come. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U2eXM3_93pU)
Steam Summer Sale is on.
I hope all this stuff gets added to the PC version.I hope so too, since I don't have a PS4.
Deponia: The Complete Journey (http://store.steampowered.com/app/292910/) is 85% off right now. Amazing game. Buy it.
Deponia: The Complete Journey (http://store.steampowered.com/app/292910/) is 85% off right now. Amazing game. Buy it.I'd want to (because it looks very good and interesting), but I can't at the moment. I'll add it to my wishlist, though.
I have an extra gift copy of the first Killing Floor on Steam if anyone is remotely interested.
Play FC4. Torrent if you like.

Need For Speed Most Wanted 2012 is free on Origin. Only racing game I truly love. Everyone play it.
I'm a fan of the PS2 era Burnout games myself.
I'm a fan of the PS2 era Burnout games myself.I never played much of Burnout besides 3, which was fuckin' fun from what I remembered.
I might be interested in the Telltale bundle, I don't care about the Walking Dead games but I do have a lot of the other games on my wishlist.
Star Wars sale on Steam and GOG for May the 4th. GOG in particular now has Shadows of the Empire if any of you like bad games.
Just bought Mighty No. 9 on the Steam sale and it's nothing like the cancerous hatedom are it claiming to be. 32-bit version so far worked fine for me. Not sure what to spend the leftover money I got from this giftcard I got as an early Christmas gift.
I agree I feel MN9's hate is overblown a tad but there are some legitimate issues; it's quality is not even close to what it should be given the budget or the team behind it. But even looking past the visuals the characters are bland, the levels are likewise lacking in personality (compared to games like MMX1 and MM2) and the bosses honestly are kinda phoned in.[spoiler=TL;DR]At the risk of sounding like a rabid fanboy (and probably will), I somewhat agree and disagree. I am not going to lie, Mighty No. 9 does feel unfinished and unpolished in a bunch of aspects (presentation, gameplay and difficulty balance, and the English localization as well), though I'm no stranger with games that feel underdeveloped but was still enjoyable. I may have mentioned it before or not, but if I had to compare Mighty No. 9 to another game I've played before, it would be the 2010 re-imagining of Splatterhouse; both games had a rough development cycle, the finished product feels underdeveloped, and they're unpolished in similar areas (though Splatterhouse had great voice over performances, in my opinion), but despite their flaws, I had fun with them. In Mighty No. 9's case, Normal mode feels easy, I will admit, but when I switched to Hard/Hyper mode, things picked up for me, and rather than cheesing the game with Beck's Remote Cannon and deprave myself from any challenge, I actually took some time and experiment with the weapons and levels, get a feel for the levels and how to utilize the weapons. While messing around with the game, in a very small way, the levels reminded me of They Bleed Pixels after having a look at some replays of that game where some players went one approach for speed/time and others for score, and I can see a bit of that in Mighty No. 9. As much as scoring was pretty much solely bragging rights, it still motivated me to get better scores, and when I'm not feeling like score rushing or speeding through levels, I've done dumb stuff like using weapons that weren't better against bosses or change the controller set-up over my usual Mega Man Zero-styled set-up for fun. As for the characters, I don't find that many as bland except for Graham, Sanda, and Call though I can barely of give her a pass, though I'm with PB and enjoyed Avi's and Cyro's personalities.
Removing all the disappointment and hype MN9 is a decent platformer but not amazing or groundbreaking I'm curiously if Concept will try to fix stuff in a sequal or if they will just drop the IP and hope Red Ash ends up being something decent?
