Misadventures of Tron Bonne for the PS1.

Not at all cheap, I have to say. It's shipping soon so I should have it this week.

2
SO HOWS ABOUT THEM LEGENDS 3 GAIZ? That's some awesome stuff right there?

Now that I think about it, wasn't Legends 3 one of games that would signal the Apocalypse? What other games were there besides Duke Nukem Forever?

3
So wait, you want to provide numbers from a different platform from a different company in order to counter the point I made for a portable system being released by Nintendo? Not sure I follow you there, Ramzal.

Actually, they replaced features and went for what they believed fans would demand. As demand goes up, so does price. Fail. :D

"Oh boy, now that the PSPGo is BlueTooth enabled I can use my PS3 controller to play my PSP games that I have to redownload because none of my UMDs work for the system!

...Wait, what?"

4
'Kay. Then provide some numbers that prove your point. It's probably because I'm retarded, but all you've been doing is saying "it'll be $300 because IT'S MORE HIGH TECH!"

Also, I should point you to the PSPGo again. The PSPGo launched $70 more than the PSP3000 model that was currently on the market, and the PSPGo actually TOOK AWAY more features than it added. Take that as you will.

5
Notice a tread? And a tidbit from me? Not once did I reference Japan's price. But rather the hardware and software this system will have in it. The more developed handhelds get, and more hardware that is in it, the more it costs. If it didn't, the PS2 would have been $200 as it was, and the PS3 would have been $180. It would make no sense for the 3ds to cost less than 280 dollars WITHOUT tax given the hardware. You guys are using japan as a reference---a poor one at that, which is why I never USED it as one. Nice assumption.

Bwah? Never did I say that as the handhelds got more tech and software in them they didn't get more expensive. In fact you'll notice the increase of the launch prices in the US starting from the DS Lite. I was just noting that even though things were expensive in Japan, they weren't nearly as expensive in the US.

Since you keep mentioning a $300 price point you've kinda been referencing to the Japanese launch price, which is 25000 Yen or $300 US. Judging from the trend of handheld releases I doubt Nintendo is going to charge that much in the US. It'll be $250 at the MOST.

6
It'll still be about as much as the Wii when it came out, from my estimations. Quite a bit for a hand-held.

The PSP came out for the same price and people bought it like hotcakes. Same with the PSP GO for some stupid reason.

7
Here's some more interesting tidbits:

DS Phat
Japanese Launch Price: 15,000 Yen (around $180 US)
US Launch Price: $150 US

DS Lite Launch Price
Japanese Launch Price: 16,800 Yen (Around $201 US). It should be noted that many retailers raised the price to 23,300 Yen ($279 US)
US Launch Price: $130 US

DSi Launch Price
Japanese Launch Price: 18,900 Yen (Around $227 US).
US Launch Price: $170 US

DSi XL Launch Price
Japanese Launch Price: 20,000 Yen (Around $240 US)
US Launch Price: $190 US

Notice the trend? I doubt that Nintendo will use the literal translation of the Yen-to-US-Dollar conversion as the official price.

...You know, this music is really making it hard for me to keep lurking. It's getting me pumped as I read the forums.

I might have to dust off my thread soon. Curse you musical motivation!

9
I'm going to stop lurking for a little bit just to say HA I TOLD YOU THERE'D BE A VC FOR GAMEBOY GAMES! I doubt you remember me saying that but I do, and I just wanna rub it in.

Also: HOLYSHITMEGMANLEGENDS3! Capcom, Nintendo, just take my wallet and two of my paychecks. I won't be needing them.

...And now back to lurking. *scuttles off to corner*

...You know what, Quickie? I don't mind you posting more of what you were posting before.

That praying mantis picture is going to give me NIGHTMARES.

...And yes, I stopped lurking momentarily just to tell you that.

Bleh, I need to update that LP I've had running since... Hell, I forgot when I started it.

Thankfully I got a bunch of screenshots uploaded already. That way I only have to write up an update after going to sleep.

Seriously, why am I up at 2 AM?

I'm going to throw in my two cents here: While it's cool that you want to promote someone's videos. Although to be honest, the whole "I'm playing old NES games with a DANCE PAD GAIZ!" gets old after the first time you see it. So it's a bit annoying to see two or three videos of a TV and a guy's feet on each page.

And not to be rude, but your whole defensive attitude to anyone mentioning this is kind of getting on my nerves a bit. Like Justify already said: If we want to see more of his videos we'll go subscribe to him. If someone doesn't have a YouTube account to subscribe with, it really isn't that hard to make an account unless you've been recently lobotomized.

Holy crap it's been a while since I posted in here. I blame school.

To revive the thread with some content here's my thoughts on E3. An update to the LP should come soonish. Hopefully tomorrow if things go well.

The big three have given their piece on how they're the best thing since sliced bread when it comes to gaming. So how do they stack up? Well, that depends on who you're talking about...

Microsoft: 95% of this conference was about the Kinect (The new name of Project Natal) and the games that could be played on the system. Which according to the press conference is just party games and for the most part. Kinect will be launching with 15 games. One of which is called Kinect Sports... Microsoft, we need to have a talk. If you're going to be copying your competitors at least don't name one of your games EXACTLY like your competitor's game. Even the logo is the same!

Then there's also Kinectimals, a game in that's like Nintendo dogs but with exotic animals instead. Its showing has essentially become a meme on the internet now.

There were three non-Kinect games shown in the beginning of the conference, with Halo: Reach surprising me at how good it looked, largely the conference was boring. I really didn't expect anyone else to do worse than this.

While the price hasn't officially been announced by Microsoft many retailers are already pricing Kinect at $150. While steep, that still isn't as much as the Move is.

Nintendo: Holy crap did Nintendo surprise me. Not only did Nintendo stop bragging about how many Wiis that they've sold, they also showed some GAMES for the console. And not just another Mario sports game and Just Dance 2 but games like Legends of Zelda: Skyward Sword, Donkey Kong Country Returns for the Wii and Kid Icarus: Uprising for the 3DS.

Oh, here's the best part: The 3DS is a brand new console. And from the sounds of things it's AMAZING. While I haven't seen the 3D effect for myself, everywhere I've read about how amazing the 3D effect is. What's more amazing is the line up of games for the system. This includes Mario Kart, Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time and SUPER STREET FIGHTER 4.

While Nintendo played to the nostalgia factor in this conference, it was still an amazing press conference. This more than makes up for the last couple E3s. Oh right, I forgot the best news of all: There was no Cammy at all during the conference. So we were spared from hearing about how she sprained her wrist or he lame friends.

Sony: My god, this was worse than Microsoft's conference somehow. There were some games, sure, but the entire conference was mostly montages and adverts. A new ad campaign for the PSP was launched via an obnoxious kid by the name of Marcus. Kevin Butler gave an epic speech about gaming, however the epicness went away when the price of the Move controller was announced: $49.99 for the Move and $29.99 for the Navigational add-on. There's a bundle which features the PSEye, the Move controller, and a Wii sports knock off for $99.99... But you still have to buy the Navigational add-on. Sony seems to be fighting with Microsoft to see who the worst in show is..

I actually did some number crunching, and it's actually cheaper to buy a Wiimote, a Nunchuck, and Red Steel 2 with WiimotionPlus than to buy the Move Bundle and the Navigational Controller. It's a $10 difference, but it's still cheaper and more rewarding.

So there you have it. The big three's press conferences summarized for your reading pleasure. In a surprising turn of events Nintendo wiped the floor with Microsoft and Sony this year. The last thing I'll say is this: I'll be buying a 3DS day one because of this conference.

Know what I'd love to see? A virtual console for the GBA with an virtual Slot-2. That way 3DS games can take advantage of GBA games like some DS games did.

Still, even if the 3DS didn't have that I'm totally going to buy it day one.

I think I found a way to make posts on SRK funnier than they should be: Imagine that they're speaking in a snobby British voice when you read them.

I unintentionally thought of that while reading the comments. This works on all the posts about MvC3 on SRK, even the ones that are typed poorly (which are most of them as far as I can see.)

Yeah...remind to stay the [tornado fang]ing hell away from anything MAHVEL related at SRK for a while XD

You know, I really should have listened to you when you said that.

Holy [parasitic bomb], the site REEKS of elitist when it comes to any fighting game.

I noticed that MvC3 was more like TvC from the videos that I've seen, but not that I've seen confirmation I like it.

Hopefully MvC3 takes some of the balance that TvC has. I.E. you can actually win with every character and there is no pre-dominant team of God Teams in competitive play.

Call me cynical, but I'm betting that Sonic Team will still find some way to screw this up.

You have to remember Sonic Unleashed looked promising at first too. While it was a step in the right direction,  it was still far from being a good Sonic game.

Alan Wake.

So far this game has been worth every penny.

I wasn't really forced into eating anything as a child. Although the fact that I can't smell causes me to not taste food all that much, so most of the time when I didn't like something it was because of how it felt in my mouth rather than how it tasted.

One food that I will never eat again is apple sauce. It just doesn't feel right in my mouth. It was like eating a non-flavored slush.

22
I'm just going to be shamelessly plugging some crap I've written in response to Twilight. I am also reminded I still need to keep writing these. Damnit.

Also, I can attest to how bad the books are. I already spoiled myself for the series so I knew what to expect, but the farthest I ever got to reading through the books is chapter 8...And that was a summary of someone else reading the book.

Seriously, it's that bad.

Also, Meyer describes Bella using the internet to do research on vampires, and she internets horribly.

Well, it seems we're back to the official translation as of chapter 339.

I can stand the scans where the bubbles are near the spine and faded, so long as the translation is good. And it is.
