Title: Half Minute Hero & Pole's Big Adventure (Countdown Clocks)
Post by: VixyNyan on January 18, 2009, 09:29:10 PM
Countdown Clocks: They tick slowly to our unfortunate death bed

Not really~ x3

But there are two websites with a countdown clock.

One of them mocks the Zelda series with some Triforce marks on some kind of wooden (coo-coo) clock and is hosted by Marvelous Entertainment, the people behind Luminous Arc and other manga-style games. (http://www.mmv.co.jp/special/game/30/)

The other one is a mock-up for the Mario series, with a recolored 1up mushroom, and with its very own tune too, hosted by Sega. It's a "Takao Miyoshi produce" and it has some sexually themed ratings in the corner. 8D (http://pole.sega.jp/)

A few sources says it's to merchandise some products.

Hidden inside the Sega page are links to other products, like Let's Tap, Let's Scratch, U-Can, not to mention that the P in produce plays a fun little victory theme of some kind.

Another source say that the games that shows up are Prope titles, so it's a good guess that Yuji Naka will announce a new game, and hopefully Sega is gonna give "Sonic the Hedgehog" back to him. It's pretty unlikely, but it would be fun it if was true.

Thanks PB for the hint.

Any ideas? >U<

I'll say what I said elsewhere for the laughs:

Marvelous Clock: Joint Nintendo project; Link's Awakening/A Link To The Past Remake or new 2D Zelda II with hand drawn sprites courtesy of Vanillaware.

SEGA Clock: Bayonetta Wii. XD

That or Naka's new game.

Also, while I'm at it, What does Cero B correspond to in the ESRB? T? M? I can't believe I've forgotten that.

Well, they go down the line, A being more kid friendly and getting "risky" as it goes down the alphabet.  So B would be somewhere around E and T I think?

Well...I have no idea what those countdowns are about.

Also, while I'm at it, What does Cero B correspond to in the ESRB? T? M? I can't believe I've forgotten that.

T/E10+ in some cases (I think)

The JP ratings are A,B,C,D,Z

A is for all ages.
B is for ages 12 and up.
C is for ages 15 and up.
D is for ages 17 and up.
Z is for ages 18 and up, and is NOT allowed to be sold unless the buyer really is 18 or more. It's the very naked stuff here.

Funny, I noticed the rating right away.

I kinda want that Triforce Clock on my desk.  XD

You aren't the only one honestly. XD

Also, thanks Tai and Vix. Finally, here's a random bit of funny speculation for those of us who like jokes:

Quote
Hmm, triforce symbol at the top. Going clockwise, each corner takes off 1 triforce piece. . .

Like a 3...2...1... countdown....of days....

THAT RESETS JUST BEFORE THE END OF THE THIRD DAY

Majora's Mask sequel CONFIRMED

XD

EDIT - Serious thought, what if SEGA's game is actually a Feel The Magic/XX/XY sequel? It'd make sense based on the content ratings and producer.

Personally, I don't think even Naka himself is interested in Sonic at the moment.

The reason he left Sonic behind, was because he wanted to be able to do other things, besides working on Sonic games for the rest of his life. I mean, face it, a few years ago, he WAS in a very lucrative position: he was the head of Sonic Team, the man with the main say-so with the franchise, and he also had a great deal of seniority in the Sega brass. Yet, he wanted to give that up and get his own studio (which is still under Sega pay-roll), because he wanted to do new things.

While I don't exactly agree with all of his ideals (I CERTAINLY don't approve of all his actions back in the day, like how he was all diva in order to get what he wanted, and forced good people out), I can at least state that much is admirable about him.

Now, if only he could actually be responsible for an A+ game again...

I'll say what I said elsewhere for the laughs:

Marvelous Clock: Joint Nintendo project; Link's Awakening/A Link To The Past Remake or new 2D Zelda II with hand drawn sprites courtesy of Vanillaware.

That would be all kinds of sexy, even as much as I would doubt such a thing could ever happen.

That feather could be anything. I would hope it's Roc's Feather, but there are so many birds in the LoZ series, who knows? Besides, doesn't Roc's Feather have a different color scheme in the official art? This may not even be a LoZ game, but if it isn't, Marvelous is going to have quite a legal battle over the Triforce logo.

I didn't see the rating there on Sega's mushroom game. Now I doubt it's a Mario game, but you never know. When you click the mushroom, an off-key 1-Up Mushroom tune plays.

Sega's countdown clock'll kill me if it's a Sonic/Mario crossover with sexual themes.

Sadly, there are people that think that'd be a fun idea. (http://todd18.deviantart.com/)

You heard it here first, folks; Shadow the Hedgehog 2 for the Nintendo DS, with Mario characters.

For it to be Cero B though, I would still expect such things to probably be still relatively tame, at best.

I mean, Cero B basically equates with the kind of "ecchi" stuff that would fly in most rudimentary Shonen manga/anime, as well as the appropriate level of violence for such.

After all, the likes of Tatsunoko vs. Capcom got a "CERO B" rating as well, thanks to the sexiness of Doronjo and the other girlies, as well as the over-the-top fisticuffs for violence.

So therefore....whatever this is slated to be...I'm thinking that those expecting anything more than what I suggest above are going to be disappointed, I'm afraid.  8D

Vixy or anybody who plays a lot of games, do any of you recognize the tune when the P is clicked?

I'm trying to mull it through my mind, meantime, I can tell you that the mushroom tune is the exact notes for the extra life in Sonic games, but no pause in between the fourth and fifth notes.

Something strange going on, here.

I'm not quite ready to call it a Sonic/Mario crossover, just yet. If the mushroom looked like a Mario mushroom, well, that'd be one thing. But, it doesn't.

That's the Sonic 1-Up theme, though (or Chaos Emerald). Interesting.

Come now, when you consider the content of PM:TTYD and the sexual themes from the DS renditions of Pauline and the camera hi jinks in SSBB, it's only a matter of time before the Mario series officially lets its hair down a little.

But any way, it seems like Pole's Big Adventure is likely to be both Prope's game, as well as the game that Miyoshi is on. Bubble Bobble Wii may, or may not be a VC game. We're not sure yet.

Well, I was waiting for the scans, but here:
Quote

The "basic game" will be 800 Wii points, it will contain 400 stages (100 arcade, 100 arranged + 100x2 difficult versions of each). It supports 4 players.
Also there are two DLC packs: 50 stages x 2 of very hard "expert maps". These also support 4 players. 200 points per pack.

Any way, it's 8-bit. A bit of a downer, since I was personally hoping for something more along the lines of the 16-bit beauty that was "Bubble Symphony", but it's cool.  0v0

At least they won't be gouging our wallets like they did with "Get Even".  8D

Sega's Pole game is this. (click) (http://pole.sega.jp/index.html)

Pole's Big Adventure
Oldskool Classic Nostalgic Game
Genre: Sidescrolling Action (8bit graphics and music)
System: Wii Ware (500 Points)
Release: February 3, 2009!! (live feed get! <3)

Characters: Hero (Pole), Heroine (Sharon), and enemies called Poachers.
Heroes, a damsel in distress, and a big fat bully with minions...
Looks very Mario parody here, with guns. ^^

The game is Rated Cero B, it has sexual humor and other silliness. '>.>

Tutorial Movie for the game's 3 control styles. (http://pole.sega.jp/game_intro.html)
(just click the red button under the control picture.)

GAIS THIS TRAILER IS NUTS~! >U< (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P7-cyciF0YA&fmt=18)

The cutscenes will have a less cartoony art style and more "serious". Looks funny, but cool.

Oh yea, I was right about something...

the P in produce plays a fun little victory theme of some kind.

And don't forget to listen to the whole theme song in the main page.
Someone will sing songs from many things.... one of them is Wonder Boy. >U<

Next is the game by Marvelous Entertainment. (http://www.mmv.co.jp/special/game/30/)

It's an RPG for the PSP. It's coming out somewhere in 2009.
It asks you to play a couple of segments of the game and try and beat them in 30 seconds or less. x3
Sounds crazy, and kinda fun, like Wario Ware-style micro games. ^^

I felt somehow that a SMB2J-type warp was gonna drag me back to the first world through a pipe. It did. =w=

Cute Ninja Pully was cute~ ^^

LoL, where do I begin?

The Mushroom Boner, the Death Disco Stage, the Pointy Star, the Sperm Clouds, and the Dreamcast Vortex all were so hilarious.

I doubt I'll see this in the US, seeing how it's rated B, it's too 'strange' for us casuals of the US, but it is hilarious how they referred to Awesome Possum's talk during certain situations.

Download it~! ^w^ (http://www.rockmanpm.com/down/click.php?id=314)
Composed by Teruhiko Nakagawa

I recorded the whole soundtrack, and it's pretty sexy quality, even for a TV recording. ^^
I included the silly person that sings in the Jungle stage. 8D

Thanks for recording the soundtrack. :)
But I think there is at least one more you forgot. Isn't there a song/theme for when you get hurt by a certain huge spike ball? That tune of Pole's old death memories NETA scene, I believe. Though I could be wrong, I just didn't see it listed in your sound track.

And I translated the name of the game some more and it turned into this.

Chin Douchuu!! Pole no Dai Bouken
Strange Journey!! Pole's Big Adventure

Soundtrack updated with that info (http://www.rockmanpm.com/down/click.php?id=314), but the last track will show up when my sound card is working. ^^;

Reviving this thread~

For a couple of days, I've been having fun with Half-Minute Hero (PSP). :3

I registered an account at the official ranking website. (http://www.halfminuteheroes.com/)

There are some good records already, but I'm improving some more everyday. (http://lol.rockmanpm.com/hmh-vixynyan.png)

If you want to join, you must own the game first, because there are passwords inside the game that you need to type on the website. o.o
The website counts Highest Level, the most Gold earned and the Fastest Time on each quest.

About the game...

It's so silly, fun and addicting. You have to beat each quest in 30 seconds or the world will be crushed. There are other modes too, like an Real-Time Strategy about a Beautiful Evil Lord, and a Shooter game with a Princess. Funny and silly dialogs that pokes fun at the game's plot and environment, kinda like Pole's Big Adventure. >v<

The main game, "Hero 30", is a fast-mode type RPG where you try to figure out what to do to beat the evil lord on every quest. Within the 30 seconds, you need to level up, buy gear, gather up items before time runs out. You can pray to the Time Goddess statue so that you can gain more time, but each time you do it it will be more and more expensive. Anyone can play it. It's more of an action RPG game really. No turn-based things. There are random battles tho. ^^

This is the real official website, with info and pictures. (http://www.halfminutehero.com/)

Here's a good quality video of the 2nd quest, so you understand how the game works. ^^ (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=60ME7h0wEso)

Later on in the game, there will be different paths and puzzles to solve based on the game's timer.

Tiny spoiler, but in one quest, you will be offered a big pirate treasure full of gold.

(http://lol.rockmanpm.com/halfminutehero/hmh-treasureisland.png) (http://lol.rockmanpm.com/halfminutehero/hmh-treasureisland.png)

If you say No, you beat the quest and continue the game.

Evil Lord's story is so full of self-love and ego. I have to show more dialog from it. It's so funny. >U<

The sorcerer Noire put a curse on EvilLord's girlfriend Millenia, who used to be a purple-hair girl (http://lol.rockmanpm.com/halfminutehero/hmh-purplehairgirl.png).
Now she's a bat, but they keep love and snuggle each other. They chase after Noire to lift the curse.

The Evil Lord ending:

300 seconds to try and save the world, you can't rewind the time.
Time won't stop either, because it's the Hard difficulty. >w<

I picked this game up last night. Hahaha, oh man. What a fun little title! Evil Lord and Princess 30 are cool, but Hero 30 is what takes the cake in this game. I don't know, I mean.. You just watch it, and it doesn't seem like you're doing much, but playing it is so much fun, even if attacking is just repeatedly running forwards. I just went through a quest where I sold my soul to a devil and got a [parasitic bomb] ton of power. It's awesome!
