I'm just curious. I finally got my third Wii Remote, and the first two are from before Nintendo started making the things. So I'm trying to pry the remote and Motion Plus out of the damn thing and I knew right away I would never put up with it (and I already knew from a friend's house that I couldn't stand to leave the jacket on when holding the remote sideways). Not for EVERY battery change, and EVERY controller bracket switch.
So......does anyone here actually use the thing? Or do you find it as much a pointless piece of PR crap as I do?
-
I barely use it, and of course.. I got rechargeable batteries.. For both remotes. -_-
-
I find it useless and a nuisance while changing batteries for the Wii Remote, but I still use it anyway.
-
I don't have one; Both my Wiimotes were made before the jacket came out. I have few games on here that require a lot of moving anyways, so I'm not worried I'll break 'em.
-
I used to use them, then I thought, "Why the hell use a jacket when your going to take it on and off when charging the remotes?
Besides, if one of my butter-fingered friends throw it on accident nd boy did one ignorant friend do so when playing a round of SMBWii, I told him to sotp swinging the remote, he threw it against the wall, I smacked him using the jacket, so they aren't all bad 8D.

Having gotten Wii Play and a Black Wiimote and MotionPlus over Christmas, I can safely say:
NO!
I've got more condomsjackets than I know what to do with, now! They really get in the way when you're trying to play retro games or SSBB or NSMBWii, too!
Okay, now I've got black and white Wii Remotes, Ebony and Ivory. 8D
-
Yes, but mostly because I like the grooved backing.
-
I've only had my Wii for a day, but after reading this topic I decided to take the jacket off (which is quite a gruesome process), and I immediately noticed how much more comfortable playing MM9 was. I mean, the jacket feels great when playing Wii Sports or something, but it's too much of a nuisance to remove when you wanna battery change, etc. It'd be cool if Ninty makes a new jacket that comes off a lot easier, but for now I'm prolli not gonna use it anymore.
-
Hate them, if only for the battery-changing shpeal. And playing games that demand you hold the Wiimote sideways feel awkward with all that extra cushioning in your left hand.
-
the motion plus looks retarded without it.
-
the motion plus is retarded.
Fix'd.
I keep my Wiimote jacket off. Even without the string I keep a good grip on the thing.
...At least I would if there was anything worth playing on the damn thing :\
-
Off. It's comfortable, but a pain in the ass to take it off when it's time to change the batteries. Not to mention when you bring the wii remote to a friends house and sync the remote with the console.

Pretty much this.

Am I the only one who has no difficulty taking the thing on and off?

This. I don't see how you people have so much difficulty changing the batteries with it, it takes a few seconds.
So, yeah, I use the Wii Remote Jacket.

The first time you take it off, it's a doozy. After that, I've had no real problems removing and re-covering the thing.

I don't think I've ever played Wii without the rubber on the controller, but I imagine it would feel a lot more small and pointy without it! They should make a piece of rubber to put over the direction pad so that stops making my left thumb sore, too.
The only problem is I tend to play with the loose pieces of rubber when I'm not doing anything, like pulling out the sides around the buttons, or pulling out the part that fills in the co-controller port.
-
I don't '>.>
-
I use them, just for the heck of it.

I should also say that while the above is true, I shut up and live with it. :D
-
pft, you kids must suck an awful lot to find it a pain to take off.
-
It's less a matter of sucking and more a matter of the fact that stripping of such effort should generally lead to something a lot more satisfying than a fresh pair of batteries.
I will give you the fact that Motion Plus looks weird without it (Nintendo didn't bother to match finishes, and the lip at the bottom is just goofy). Maybe when a Motion Plus game worth playing is actually out, I'll care. But probably not enough.
-
I have a good grip?
-
I still love me some Archery.
-
Okay, I played on a controller without rubber for the first time tonight, and it turned out not to be pointy because the corners are all rounded! But it was very small. I couldn't believe the smallness of it!
It is intended for tiny baby hands!
-
I didn't use the remote jacket once.
Then I got hand AIDS.
