With the ZX series apparently not getting a third installment, and SSR3 apparently being the last of that series, What's next?
If Capcom has plans for the Blue Bomber, they ain't talkin'.
What do you all think? What might Capcom have on the horizon? Or do you think they could have decided to put the ol' blue boy to rest?

...
More cell phone games?
-
Most likey Megaman ( random cheesy name ) series , where Someone who looks too much like lan or Geo , merges with a toaster
And damn , so ZX3? That totally does not make my day

Actually, we might get a cellphone-only series this time around. With the likes of NoMoreHeroes stealin' the spotlight on the consoles and all. 8U
Sarcasim aside, let's wait until we hear from capcom. usually it takes three to five years to develop a megaman series in secret.
Anyone remember Sonic Unleashed's Cellphone port?
-
Capcom has been keeping too much secret about the rockman franchise to the point they annoy us.......
-
I'm hoping this "Shin Rockman" isn't a retread of BN and RnR (I like those series, but enough is enough).
The only sure game we're getting this year is Megaman Rush Marine. And that could be terrible.
-
"What now? Lemme tell you what now! I'mma call a couple of hard pipe hitting niggas, go to work on the homes here...with a pair of pliers and a blowtorch. YOU HEAR ME TALKING HILL BILLY BOY? I'M NOT THROUGH WITH YOU BY DAMN SIGHT. I'MMA GET MEDIEVAL ON YOUR ASS!"
-
We better get some classic and X games. Hopefully Shin Rockman is something good.

They didin't bother me at all, it should be simple to like of this Shin Rockman. Well, Rush Marine looks like a shootem'up to me. which I like too.
-
What's this about "Shin Rockman"? I've never heard of it.

It's supposedly a new entry into the Megaman mythos; so far, all we've seen of it is Ghoston and Clock Genius.
-
Ghoston? Evidence please. I might have missed that one out. But definately Clock Genius looks like something out of Bobobo-bo-bobobo. And Ghoston looks like it could be straight out of Ben 10 and Alien Force, although they sucked.
-
(http://www.themmnetwork.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/01/ghoston-337x450.jpg)
-
Now that I've seen Ghoston, it looks like something that jumped right outta Soul Eater (I know this anime thru my brother, he likes those kinds of things). :p
Clearly, from this point, this new Rockman would apparently be a demon hunter, of all things, that scenario is very common too (just a guess, but Ghoston and Clock Genious have entered to pick the theme of the new Rockman, and it looks like we have our demon hunter with Tales Of gameplay).
But of course, a game's a game. No matter what.

More fan games 8D

Maybe they'll take a break.

If you're out of original ideas... make remakes.

I thought that would've been another commercial (but still similar), but still, wow XD
-
Why Cant we get actually GOOD commercials here in the west for Megaman? ):
-
We seriously need a ZX3, I mean jesus christ after that ending they better not leave us hanging. Who do they think they are, Kojima?
-

Yes. But I still want one. In the X series. With Sigma as an unlockable, ridiculously broken character. Pleasethankyoubuhbye.
-
Well, I forget who it was who said it, but he wanted a Megaman game where you could pit all the different versions against each other. That would be cool. But what we really need, aside from a ZX3, is a DASH 3. Can I get an amen?
-
Trust me, given the success of Rockman 9. We will see another Original Series title in the future...... and Powered Up is not dead either.
-
But Powered Up was so very meh in comparison to its X Series counterpart.
-
Sorry, but Overpowered Playable Blues & I disagree with you there! 8D
-
Overpowered playable Blues was all Powered Up had for it. I know seeing as this is a Rockman site, most of you are going to have enjoyed the game but I seriously don't see why. *shrugs* To each his own.
Though, a Tron Bonne sequel would be awesome.

To be honest, I thought Rockman Rockman was a better game than MHX, because it was practically a brand new MM game. It added 2 new Robot Masters, it had a great level creator, the challenge mode to unlock Overpowered Playable Blues was fun, it had Overpowered Playable Blues, and it gave you 11 characters to beat the game with. Like it or not, if offers a lot more than MHX did.

Good point

I found Time man and Oil Man to be rather pointless additions... they were just there to go with the even 8 theme in the rest of the games.

I liked TimeMan & OilMan. Especially OilMan, the dancing fool that he was! XD

"Showtime daze!"

How are two more stages and two more bosses pointless additions when the entire series is based on exact replica sequels with new bosses and new stages? Besides, this time around you could play as those new bosses.
-
Too bad Oilman was so freaking useless to play as.
-
Actually, certain masters do have weaknesses to Oil, you just got to experiment. hey, it's what the feature's for. :p

Woah , theres two Protomans here now? /offtopic

I found a good deal of the playable characters not really all that exciting to use with incredibly bad weapons to use. Well most of the characters warranted a "meh" from me, playable Vile was a hell of a different experience and I really enjoyed it compared to Megaman Megaman.
Now, I did have my fun with Megaman Megaman, don't get me wrong. I did enjoy Time Man and Oil Man's stages as they were new and instead of giving us the same stages for the other Masters, they actually redesigned them, though playing the game in "Original" mode or whatever it was was just ugh. I also found the Oil Slide or whatever it was called an absolutely terrible weapon. It just was.
I can't comment on the stage creater as I've never actually cared enough and I got the game long after its little creation boom was popular. However, I did download one awesome stage that had excellent use of Oil Man's weapon!

I went through and did everything on every difficulty, so I know. I just... really disliked using Oilman. A lot. Gutsman, while difficult, was at least fun to use in certain aspects (glitching Elecman for one). Oilman... not so much. Especially against Fireman.
-
Let's make a remake of MegaMan Powered Up where OilMan is easy to play as
and change his skin color again

Racist Man!

Seriously Capcom's acting like idiots not giving us Legends 3.
I kept hearing around that Capcom's not having enough funds to make that game. This is the stupidest thing I've heard so far about a Rockman game. Capcom has millions and millions on theirs hands and they keep wondering if they should give us Legends 3, and we keep asking for it, just what are you waiting for capcom? A Riot?
By the time, we should have already heard about a new ZX title, and yet we din't, -WTF Capcom?- I always tought that the ZX Series sold pretty well, and also, the story can't end like this -ZXA Secret Ending-.
Either capcom's not talking about their game under developpement, or they really gave it up, wich is stupid.
Nooow, when you look at it, the only Rockman game that we've got announced for now is that remake game.
Yeah, I'm sort of happy about that, I'll most likely enjoy it I guess, but that doesn't bring much..tho MMPU and MHX were great remakes.
Anyway, I really want New stuffs from Capcom, something Original, I think we've waited enough for ZX3, I think we've dreamed enough of Legends 3, and I think we asked enough for X9.
So capcom, Seriously, what are you waiting for?
-
They have some cash to be sure, but they're still a company, and need to make a net profit. It just so happens they're a videogame one.
-
Apparently, despite Megaman being one of Capcom's major mascot character, they've just decided to make other stuff. They're putting all the eggs in every other basket except Megaman. But, that's just what I'm thinking.
-
So capcom, Seriously, what are you waiting for?
End of Recession?
The sad truth is it still about money. RM9 is a win/win situation. While ZX3, X9 & DASH 3 (most specially) are risky.
You know sometimes I was thinking that the secret ending of ZXA is simply just a hint for RM9. (Reset = going back to 8-bit, Thomas as the bad guy...) It's an open one though. They might come up with something to continue the story from there. Or I'm wrong. That it's all coincidental & that they already have a concrete story for the ZX Saga to begin with.
One of few reasons on why I'm still have a hope for ZX3 is that ZX games has not yet fully utilize the touchscreen capability. I believe that 2D platform sidescrolling & touchscreen can coexist with harmony if done right.
I can only hope...
-
If you look at the connection that Inti Creates had with 8bit in their games (Rockman Antique, R9 and their past work), you can see that they purposely put the ZX series on hold to "go back to the roots", so the world was reset and only a few fans who got that ending had an idea of what it meant.
Inti really loves 8bit, and Rockman games in general. You can see that they haven't ruined the game mechanics, controls, visual or music aspects of the games at all. They are just as good quality games as the old games was.
Over the years, a lot of endings has shown ways to put series on hold until they find a way to continue. Trigger is still stuck on Elyium with Yuna and Sera, Zero is missing, with his helmet somewhere in the desert sand, and other things. Capcom or Inti can continue any series they want, and the easiest one is the Classic series, because it doesn't have endings that forces the series to stop. It's a kid-friendly, never-ending series and I love Capcom and Inti for this wonderful treasure that the series is~ ^w^ </wii>
-
Maybe Capcom likes them win-win sit uations, altho that just ends up in greed, then it ends up in pissing fans off, then it ends up starting a roit vs. Capcom, then it ends up a fan killing the main honcho of Capcom, and well...maybe Capcom will decide to listen for what fans want...until then, goooood luck!
-
Capcom tends to make good franchises, and then milks them until everyone gets tired of them, only to resurrect them in a really awesome way.
At least that's what they used to do. I'm not sure sure about recent their years.
-

When it comes to business, you have to be greedy or you'll be bankrupt. Namely during a recession. Video games are lucky because they're something that takes peoples minds off money troubles.
All we can do is wait.
-
The recession sure doesn't help. Companies are playing it even safer than they usually do, that much I can tell you.

Artificial being, human body, immortal. It's a Legends reference. Inti shies away from direct tie-ins but does make an effort for their games to fit comfortably with Legends.

Star Force can have the touch-screen. I think ZX has a lot of untapped potential even within the confines of traditional platforming. In many ways Advent, awesome as it was, was more of a tangent than a sequel.
The sad truth is it still about money. RM9 is a win/win situation. While ZX3, X9 & DASH 3 (most specially) are risky.
Solution: Port the Five Island Adventure to home console download services already! I would kill to see that on WiiWare.

I always thought Vent looking like Trigger was a dead giveaway tie in. he looks like trigger and has blue battle armor. HMMM. and Trigger was :based" on someone the Master knew,so its not that much of a stretch to say that the master knew Vent. Maybe after Legion Falls, (even if Mikhail doesnt turn out to be evil, he's still screwed with Thomas threatening him with his Megamen.) a new government is set up, the government that becomes the govt of Elysium in the Legents series, with the Master and all that. and, if the 3 from legion lived so freking long, its not a stretch to say the master is from some timepoint where Vent was still alive. from what i remember, He lived really long too.

End of Recession?
Seriously guys I really think that's it, its sort of logical.

Going to be waiting a while, then...

Going to be waiting a while, then...
Sadly yeah... but in the end it could be worth it, imagine they're waiting to work on Legends 3..
impossible, but just imagine.
-
Capcom's overdue.
Damnit I want a new MM game. I mean seriously.
-
I feel you Acid.
I for one though, want a new Megaman game that is actually on a physical format.
SO I CAN ACTUALLY GET IT.
