The big view helps, thanks. Here's some tips for when you feel like working on it again.
-The shades on the face are fine, but you should add a color that's between the two you have to the top left skin pixel, the top left skin pixel and the middle bottom skin pixel.
-You could keep the outline color you have on parts facing away from light or on the bottom of things, and use a dark blue lighter than your outline to outline the tops of things and replace the outline-color shading. This is why it's important to know where the lighting is coming from, and to shade and highlight accordingly.
-Unless something's in deep shadow, like the leg on our right, your edge shading should usually be one pixel.
