Six portable classics are about to hit the North American Virtual Console on Nintendo 3DS! The four remaining Game Boy Mega Man titles AND Mega Man Xtreme 1~2 (of Game Boy Color fame) are nearly ready for their eShop debut, and both Capcom Unity and Nintendo want YOU to decide which one launches first!

Vote in the above poll by 10am PT April 14 to make your choice known. Which of these classics will take the top spot? Mega Man V, with its unique Mega Arm and Stardroids (no Wily!)? Or perhaps you'd prefer Xtreme 2, with playable Zero and DNA Soul System?

Either way, the winning title will release on May 1, 2014. After that, it's "Mega May" as the remaining titles release each Thursday. Pick your favorite, but should your choice not release first, it'll still be out mere weeks later :)

While I will keep my vote secret for now (can't sway the vote!), please share your choices and rally others to get your favorite out on May 1!

Happy voting everyone!

I know it's really early but how is Megaman Xtreme in 1st place?

Nearly ready? Bullshit, they're ready to go. Just dump them all at once.

Good on them for not waiting another year to release them after the announcement.

Make color versions of the old GB games and you might entice me to get it. Otherwise, why bother buy games I already own?

Results are hidden to me now at least.  Also people in the comments are screaming for Battle Network games for some reason.....

Oh god Battle Network games on VC would be amazing.

It would be though I would only want 2, 3, maybe 5, and 6.

If they did 5 I'd think they'd rather wait till they do DS VC so they can get Double Team on there instead.

Though all those nice GBA slot functions would be gone.

I'd buy BN2 again in a heartbeat, that's for sure.

The correct answer is V because, although a fantastic game, no one should be paying the prices people ask for for the cartridge.
This sounds kinda odd enough to be an April Fool's joke. Releasing the games out of order would be rather weird.
So the first game came out.

Its Xtreme 1.

Meh. I'll buy it but i'm waiting on V and Xtreme 2 personally.

I'm surprised that won the vote. I woulda thought Xtreme 2 would get way more votes than 1.

Although, this way makes much more sense. Next week will be II and III, the week after will be IV, the week after that will be V, and the last week of May will be Xtreme 2.

... What's wrong with the people who voted for Xtreme 1. That was quite possibly the worst choice on there (yes, worse than II).

Its not really a bad game.

Just not terribly original, its just retreads after all.

No no, it's terrible alright.

But then, you should all know my thoughts on those games!  8D

Boy, if only you could remap the dash control to select, because the Y button works as a substitute for that.

But you can't because the remapping options are so limited.

Didn't Xtreme 2 allow for button remapping to some degree? I mean, Xtreme 1 was pretty poorly coded and done overall, but that's gotta suck if there's no way to get a reasonable button remap for it.

Not for dashing

Xtreme 1 gives the option to switch between only allowing Command Dashing/ Down+Jump or also allowing Start to be used. Yeah, Start should be for the [tornado fang]ing menu, not dashing.

Wii U VC lets you configure controls, so there really should be that option on 3DSVC.

But see, they did the 3DS stuff before they did the Wii U stuff so in their mind they don't feel like going back and updating all of the older games with new options. Though I think Game Gear and PC Engine games allow for button remapping...

I think it was Select.  Or at least, it's Select in Xtreme2, where it should obviously be used for Scramble Changing. 8D

Yeah, I'm going bonkers waiting for Xtreme2.  Just over a week to go...

At least the GB VC games map Select to Y as well.

Never really got this. Why not just release it chronologically like the NES titles on the Virtual Console? Can people really not wait to play Mega Man V?

They... did?

After Xtreme 1 they did the rest of the games in order.

Oh it was just for the first game? I guess I'm the minority that doesn't care about the VC. My Game Boy still works fine.

Major necropost but  We're getting Mega May 2. (http://www.capcom-unity.com/brelston/blog/2015/04/15/mega-may-2015-brings-four-gba-titles-to-wii-u---vote-for-the-first-release)

This time its all GBA games on the Wii U. Battle Network 3 and 4, Megaman & Bass and Zero 2. Pick which one goes first and the others follow suit.

They chose Zero 2 out of all the 4 zero games? Okay then.....

Zero 1 is out already and they're doing this chronologically.
Other than breath of fire 2 and the strangeness that was US Mario 2 coming out before the first games in their respective series (BoF because Square and Mario because ???) i've never seen the virtual console release a series out of order. We didn't get MM6 before MM1, after all.

Oh, well if MMZ1 was already out, then that makes sense. I guess next year if they decide to do this to release MMZ3, I take it. Otherwise, if they stop doing this yearly before they hit MMZ3 or MMZ4, we would only see those 2 titles.

I'll vote for EXE 4.5 Real Operation even though that's not a choice.

Also if we're getting 4, wonder if that means we'll get 5 and 6. And with DS VC being a thing, wonder if we'll get the Star Force games down the line. Or the ZX titles.

Or Mega Man 64 since N64 VC is a thing now too. I mean they've been pretty good about releasing all the MM games that were on Nintendo systems so far, albeit slowly.

I imagine we will, especially since we're getting both versions of 3 and 4.

I imagine we'll get ZX and Star Force in the future as well. Capcom seems more interested in supporting the VC than other companies do. Makes me wonder how they'll do connectivity bonuses in the DS games or Zero 3/BN4.

MM64 is probably less possible, if Legends 1 can't come out on the PSN due to "Legal snags" then I assume the same applies to 64.

Now we just need Boktai on the VC, but emulating the solar sensor basically puts the piledriver on that coffin. Lunar Knights seems more likely, albeit still incredibly improbable. Also it being Konami and not Capcom

These people are boring as [tornado fang].

Megaman & Bass went first. So presumably it'll be Zero 2, MMBN3 and MMBN4 in that order if they're going by release dates.

Well if it's any consolation, I voted for MMZ2. I didn't vote for Mega Man & Bass since I didn't find it very fun to play compared to the other class Mega Man games.

And Konami is Capcom'ing better than Capcom right now.

BN3 and BN4 are confirmed to have the same system as BN2 in place where going to the Comm. Menu will give you the other versions exclusive Navichips (Which means the only things different will be what navis you can fight, the Gigachips you can obtain, and what style/souls you can get.) so there's no worry of not being able to attain 100%.

Nintendo can't even do that right. Good on Capcom, wonder if they'll put the BN4 unlockables in Z3. And we can assume BN5 and BN6 will have the same treatment even if we'll be stuck with the butchered US version of 6. (lol if you think BN5DS will come out instead of BN5 regular.)
