Fan Creations / [YouTube/MP3/NSF] Megaman Medley
« on: September 19, 2009, 02:59:03 PM »
Hi, I swear..this is the last time:

Song Name: Megaman Medley

Description:
I set out to make the ultimate 8-bit Megaman medley. This song has taken my entire knowledge of all Megaman composing techniques, and fused it into one 6 minute and 18 second song. The composition contains one song from every (major) classic Megaman game.

I took great care in the YouTube video to "cancel" channels when sound effects came in. All of this being said, please enjoy. :)

Fan Creations / Mega Man 9 Soundtrack Remade in S3M/NSF format
« on: November 26, 2008, 04:11:17 PM »
Hi everyone, I was referred here by MissVixy, someone I met on YouTube as I was browsing some Mega Man videos.

First, the story:

Anyway, The purpose of this post is to show everyone what I've been working on for the past few months. Some people may know who I am, if they're into a little game called Chrono Trigger. I did the music for a project called Chrono Resurrection, but that's not what this is about.

I've always been a huge Mega Man fan (particularly Mega Man 2 and 3) and when 9 was announced, I was ecstatic. However, I didn't really think about remaking any of the music until I started visiting some YouTube videos. They were good but they just didn't feel like Mega Man style to me. I did a few Mega Man remakes in the past and was slightly familiar with the style, so I thought I'd remake one of the fun ones first. A buddy of mine, mv (Xavier Dang) turned me onto a piece of software another old friend reduz co-created called S3M2NSF. It takes specially made S3M files and converts them to NSF format. So I decided to try it out with my first Mega Man 9 remake.

Flash In The Dark was my first remade song. It was fun, but it was simplistic compared to the other ones. I was still sorta happy with it, but I wanted more of a challenge. So, I took it upon myself to try Something a LOT harder. Then something more fun.

Then, it was like an obsession, I just couldn't stop. I started remaking the Mega Man 2 menu music re-do's, and then the master bosses came on. I really hadn't planned on recreating the full soundtrack, but here it is. Completed..final version, no more updates or revisions. I'm committed to the errors that are still in here (like for instance, the Staff Roll forgetting a couple vibrato effects..I personally don't mind it, it gives it a Mega Man 1 feel)

Anyway. So yes, here is the entire NSF soundtrack. I hope you enjoy it. I tried my best to keep the NES Mega Man feel in these NSF files. NSFe with Soundtrack timings are also included, as well as the S3M source files should you have an S3M player. If you DO have an S3M player, make sure you go into the setup and disable interpolation, because that will give it the true NES sound. :)

Enjoy.
