...and because I don't want to have to sift through sixty four [tornado fang]ing thousand Google search results, (and also because it seems everyone here draws on an average level, at the very least) I must ask which brand and model of drawing tablet is best for a novice like myself.

I guess I could shell out a few hundred dollars, if that's of any help.

I put on my [twin slasher] face.

I also go by Spectro D., Idylleaus, Malabar, and Dumb-bit Twofuck.

Mine is Wacom graphire size A5.

I like it, quite user friendly and easy to get used to.

If it's for drawing, as long as it's Wacom you're in the clear.
Personal size preference comes into play then, depending on your desk space.

I quite like my Bamboo small, I don't have a lot of space on my desk for a larger tablet, like the Intuos or Cintiq. (I also don't have the wallet for either of those.)

Also Graphire = Standard
and Bamboo = Wide

Not that it matters what your resolution is, since the wide will automatically adjust it's deadzone to fit your screen fine. (I have a standard monitor, but my Bamboo is wide active area)
The Bamboo series is rough like paper, while the graphire is smooth like...well, plastic.
So you can take that into consideration if you prefer paper like surface, over slippery plastic like.

Anything besides the one I use, which is a wacom graphire4
Though I guess it works well, it's not the tablets fault x3

I use a Wacom Graphire small, and on occasion, a Wacom Bamboo Fun small.  They both were bought off eBay, factory-sealed, for a cheap price, so I suggest looking there for one.

Size preference is up to you and how much you're intending to spend.  Though, a small tablet can do the same job as a big tablet, I personally see no difference.  The active area of my tablet is about 5 inches diagonal, and most of the wear on it is concentrated in a 1.5 x 1.5 inch square.  Going by that, it seems that having a huge tablet is just for show, as a small one can do the same job.

Like I said earlier though, the larger tablets are generally for people who requires a larger work area. (3D modeling is my example)
Where with just drawing, you tend to move your view around to concentrate on one particular line, so all your strokes end up going into the middle of the work area anyway.

I don't have a tablet, in fact, I don't know where to get one, and how much?

Here's a cheap one.  eBay is your friend for stuff on the cheap.  That's where I got my tablet.

JEE-SUS, $70 for a Graphire3?
I only spent $60 USD on my Bamboo, prior to shipping/handling/provincal taxes. (which totaled it up to $88 CAD/$78 USD)

$70 was roughly what I spent on my Graphire.  It was cheaper than my brother's Bamboo.

Well, I can see that the price is as high as it is because it still has it's software bundles.
So that seems okay now, but this is the age of piracy, nobody needs a shelf full of DVDs for their software bundles anymore.

But if someone wants a bunch of software to fiddle with I don't see why not, but if on a budget to buy a Tablet, it'd probably be better to look for one cheaper, that doesn't have the software with it.

Here's a cheap one.

That's almost the same as the one I have, except mines 4.  It even has the same "background" in the tablet as mine o.o  Wonder what the difference between 3 and 4 is nya

Very little difference between Graphire 3 and 4.
Overall shape is pretty much it, internally I think they're still the same though.
