$13? Wow.

My brother worked at a freaking airport and he only got paid $8/hr.
Minimum wage here is currently $10.25 and $9.40 for students. As of June 1st my province is raising it to $11 and $10.30. I dunno what to tell ya on all that.

Though on the other hand a majority of products whether imports or local cost an average $10~20 more and our taxes have been unified as a single 13% for a while now.

the federal minimum wage in america is too damn low for the cost of living these days, but it is being raised... or at least they're trying to.

here in SF i think the minimum wage is like $11. which still isn't enough because this city is too fuckin' expensive for no good reason other than IT'S SAN FRANCISCO

OH [parasitic bomb] IM USING LINK AND I ACCIDENTALLY FINAL SMASHED A CUCCO OH GOD HELP
Just enjoy yourself, don't complain about everything

Minimum wage here I think is 7.95/hr or so.  It's yet to hit the double-digits.

Minimum wage here is $14.25, which is around $12 USD.

They've been putting up quite a few times for the past couple of years.

7.25, that's what ours is.  I knew it was 7-something with a 5.  But, yeah, they're discussing raising it to 12, which would be nice.  However, of course, you'll have the other side who fret that it will somehow ruin the economy.

Meh.  Back to watching TV...

They're raising yours?

My state's keeping the 7.25, no clue why.

The discussion's on the table, but whether or not it'll be raised remains to be seen.

I see.

Anyway, I've been getting emails from this anime convention I went to once about two/three years ago, so I decided to see their schedule once just to see what they were doing.

One of the first things I noticed was "History of Equestria".

Yeah, safe to say they've branched out. I already thought the first one that I went to was awful (mainly because the few friends who said they would go didn't and didn't bother telling me they weren't coming. Gee thanks guys.) But them going back to the same damn venue as before and are incorporating non-anime fanbases into their mix just because just sort of solidifies it that its a shitty con that occasionally gets a cool guest or two.

This con's been around for like 12 years now.
Nothing doing with starting, its probably a side-effect of being in the literal dead-zone of Anime known as the US Midwest.

Small towns, too.  I don't see much around here outside of Pittsburgh, Philly, or Reading.  The closest anime con was a small one at F&M College, though that was years ago and I'm not sure if they've grown beyond that.

Also, it may be due to whatever media agency they're working for.

It broken.  The merge button isn't very high priority and it needs to be added with a plugin.  The post deletion, though... I'll go check the user permissions.  Until then, what post you want gone?

Hadn't noticed it until now.

[parasitic bomb] if I [tornado fang] up I can't fix it except with a clever stealth edit I'm totally screwed.

The post deletion, though... I'll go check the user permissions.  Until then, what post you want gone?

I was gonna merge my two posts in the Anime Watching thread but then post merge button was gone so I was gonna delete the latter and edit into my previous so lemme edit and you can delete the second one thx based quickie

Media agency? Last I checked it was just the University's Anime club doing the thing.

Or as they like to call it, the "Anime Appreciation Society", because this is Eau Claire and apparently that means we have to make stuff sound upper class and snooty. Just call it a [tornado fang]ing club, nobody's gonna laugh.

My University anime club has an FB page.

MFW Dog Days, the source anime of my waifu, is on their cover photo.

PAX, the SW Celebrations, ComiCon and such use ReedPOP as an organizer for their cons, which produces and bring in guests and media companies.

I wouldn't doubt that the anime club in the nearby university has a facebook too. I say nearby university because obviously I'm not a student now.

EDIT: Nope, doesn't appear they have one. The convention has one though, nothing interesting on it though.

And yeah, nothing on a Media Agency of any sort. The official site lists nothing.

This is such a nice thing to have back. Now if I [tornado fang] a post up or post in the wrong place by accident I can remove it again.

Hahaha, I love how Soultrigger pinpoints little things in my statements as an argument against the triviality of ZSS' high heels.
