It's still Android, just less stuff that Samsung likes throwing in. It's usually the difference between having a FroYo device and a Gingerbread device, or having an Ice Cream Sandwich device when the carrier/manufacturer stopped making new OS updates before Jelly Bean.

So, on Wookieepedia, this happened.  Written by a user who's been there long enough that if it's spelled a certain way in a canon source, that's the spelling we use, regardless if it's consistent with other, similar things.
