What you did is known as a comma splice.  Easy ways to fix it would be to divide the statement into two sentences, or replace the comma with a semicolon.

Would make sense why I never use them.

A semicolon can be thought of as the punctuation equivalent of "and."  If your sentence can be divided into two, or it could use "and," a semicolon can be used.
