The Gargoyle love lives on again...!

Any way, what more can be said? This is simply a great series, that, unfortunately, has been the victim of weak sauce gamers that couldn't hack it.

I'd like to think that, between some random staffers at Capcom, plus Inti, SOME ONE could bang out a quality sequel to this series. But woe and alas...

Ah, the good, old Firebrand, the demon who only cares for fighting itself. Although, why wasn´t there no mention of the the Red Blaze in DC? I thought Firebrand is the redeemer of the Gargoyle Realm?
Anyway, I´m more interrested in a Firebrand vs. Dante confrontation.

That's one of the tickets.

The "hobo demon" in the only town in the game says that "that fool, Firebrand, nearly burnt all of the Ghoul Realm some time ago", and that Phalanx saved them all. Phalanx wasn't the ruler of the Realm in Gargoyle's Quest II either. And the Red Blaze properly said is Firebrand in the Legendary Gargoyle form, if you talk to this same demon in that form he'll freak out. In the end although Firebrand saved the Ghoul Realm from Breager and the Destroyers, it wasn't without it's side effects.

I'm gonna tell a little story:

Sub and I once fantasized about how the final boss battle of a new Gargoyle's Quest game could look.
The resutls were this:

A mix of the last bosses from the Ghosts 'n Goblins series with your own original ideas? I like that. ^^

I'm not sure, but I think it's this...

It has naked women fused to its shoulders.

And maybe some other things.

The only Square bosses with women fused to them I can think of are:

Zeromus (easy)
Neo X-Death
Pile of People in the tower leading to Kefka
Adell & Ultemicia

And by god they do not look alike. Not at all.

the joke is that final bosses, especially JRPGs, often have naked women fused into their bodies
and FF is what most people think of when they hear JRPG
so its a cliche, you see

That's Ghouls'n Ghosts... or Ghosts'n Goblins

This is a fantastic series with a challenging difficulty. The Gagroyle's Quest games belong into the same universe(they're awesome too).

Not so long ago, Capcom decided to ditch Maximo, and revive it properly, Ultimate G&G was born. And my god it is amazing.

Should you need games for your PSP, and aren't afraid to die (many many many times), and enjoy raiding stages for hidden stuff to get stronger then search no further!

Ultimate G&G has everything you desire. Just like Castlevania Chronicles it manages to get the old-school physics right. It feels as if G&G never went missing.

I remember being stuck in the first part of the first stage of Super Ghouls 'n Ghosts for a while because I didn't realise you could double jump u.u;;

I haven't played Ultimate yet though.

Ultimate G&G won't just let you double jump, but you can also shoot straight up. Which is a MAJOR improvement.

Hey, there's even a more generic version of Red Arremer just to the upper-right of the main character. Nice tribute to the fans. And yes, that game is both a popular PSP game and deserving of the old "if you beat this, you're an absolute gaming badass" title.

The red arremers originated in G&G, Firebrand is the only one with a name.

Though there are many classes of red arremers, the strongest being the Joker.

hahaha, brilliant.

I tried Ultimate GnG, but I failed horribly at collecting those 22 rings >.> gotta get around to that when I get a PSP again.

as for appreciation, I just appreciated the [tornado fang] out of Demon's Crest, maybe it's because of the forms and hidden stuff but goddamn, it's like ZX, but demonic and for SNES! Also, listen to that cathedral music (Phalanx's stage) it's so goddamn beautiful, it's not even funny.

I still have to beat the "Dark Demon" wich I saw a friend of mine do, it looked freaking boring rather than challenging.
kinda like the 100% final form of Phalanx, cockblocker xtreme.

This should come in handy in the future!

I think he meant boring as in "this fight is bullshit unfair and not any fun", rather than easy..
