Enter in your closest Action Replay.
The Beam Saber can kill any boss in two swings so beating the game is not that hard.
Keep in mind that at doors it is best to hit start, change to X then enter door else the life bars gets mixed up.
How is this a challenge? Well, the buster i noticed charges faster, it is a bit slower then X in rapid speed.
Also jumping is slower, you can not jump up or in the air which makes it hard on bosses.
Getting hit sometimes makes you lose the charge shot.
Have fun.
Oh right, you might want a award:

Award - Complete the game as Zero.

Award - Complete the game as Zero using Buster only.

This is not a offical RPM award, just something you can put in your sig.

Actually, there is a point to picking up heart ups. because if you get them all, then it will get to the point where X's lifebar is the same height as Zero's, so it wont matter if you switch.

...When Larry the reploid accountant goes maverick of his own accord, he's certainly formidable during tax season, but he isn't going to provide X the challenge needed to make him grow as a warrior and reach his potential.

Makes me wish I had an action replay. Seriously, what was the point of having Zero in X3? Meh, this isn't the topic for that.

You realize you dont need an actual game for this right? Just take your copy of X3 for the Snes, and put it on the table. Then open up your X3 rom on Zsnes. (If you have an actual copy of X3 for the console, the rom is legally considered a backup copy.) Zsnes comes with an action replay built in.

it must be 20 years old or something.

i've done this challenge myself on a few occasions. there's one issue that always came up when i played in ZSNES, though. when i go to enter the first set of shutters in Blizzard Bufallo, after the game "switches back to X," everything is permanently dark. don't know if this happens in Snes9x.

What happens in Vegas stays on Youtube. I also stream on Twitch from time to time.

Say, what happens if you die while you're doing that?

Commander Shepard: *stares blankly at a video of scantily clad asari dancers* ...What kind of hotel is this?
Liara T'Soni: It is a luxury resort with an... exotic edge.  Azure is slang for a part of the asari body in some places on Illium.
Shepard: Where?
Liara: The lower reaches, near the bottom.
Shepard: I meant, "where on the asari body?"
Liara: So did I.

And I NEVER enjoy playing as Zero.

So I'm gonna skip this one.

i see the problem now. every time i entered that shutter before, i was changing from "X" to Zero. if you change to Zero before entering that shutter, the lights won't turn out.

It shows the cutscene of Zero telling X  he's failed, etc, but it does it every time you die
Which actually makes you invincible, when you think about it. because it will always send you to that cutscene, then back to the stage. so you essentially have infinite lives. Except in the intro stage, where you have none. 8D

o u bois~ ^w^

*60 frames yawning~*
*double sized yawn~*
^ Pick any of these to watch my full run~

Da na na naaaa~ </zelda> GET!

The most annoying part was the AVI > MP4 converting.
The AVI had the sound desynced, so I had to record AGAIN!
That wasted a whole evening for me. Then the MP4 took another 3 hours.
The run could have been posted earlier. Better late than never~ >U<

Getting hit sometimes makes you lose the charge shot.

"If" you let go of the button yea~ >U<
If you keep holding down the button, you won't lose it.
It also depends on what point the charge is at.

Actually, there is a point to picking up heart ups.[...]

With this "play as Zero" code, you can't pick up ANYTHING that isn't a Life Capsule. (no 1-Ups, no Life Ups, no Sub Tanks, no nuthin'. And the X Capsules won't open for you (Zero will just keep "humping" it) and the portal to VAVA/Vile doesn't let you teleport either.

iwhen i go to enter the first set of shutters in Blizzard Bufallo, after the game "switches back to X," everything is permanently dark. don't know if this happens in Snes9x.

It happened to me too. I use the most accurate emulator out there (Snes9x). I switched to X right before that scene would show up, and when you get closer and it switches to X again, things will run like normal. I think it's a emulator bug, because a special version of a SNES emulator might probably work better. ^^

It shows the cutscene of Zero telling X  he's failed, etc, but it does it every time you die

I tested it on another run before. If you would die against the Godkarmachine, you will teleport to VAVA/Vile's secret hideout (or at least hear the stage music). >U<

Please enjoy watching the video run~ :3
