Gaming / Re: Mysterious TWEWY Related Site Pops Up!
« on: August 20, 2012, 04:16:50 PM »
TWEWY has a potential for an online game. Having hundreds of clothes and pins I see it working as a free to play.
The story is pretty much complete, so if it's a sequel, it'd be in a new city with new characters.

BUUUUT, I say it's TIN PIN SLAMMER ONLINE.

On the contrary, it's that time of the year when I feel the very best. This, and early Spring. Since the last few days I'm happy happy joy joy, without any special reason.

Learn programming and write apps. Books, documentation, and tools are free. All you really need is a good idea.

Actually, in few days I'm going with friends to watch either TDKR or Prometheus (it came here only 2 days ago -_-).
We chose Prometheus. Very nice movie. Now to wait 2 years for the second part...

Relationship... I don't know. Too much of a hassle.

Lots of theaters here, and not only tickets are cheap, but we can freely bring own food and drinks. Actually, in few days I'm going with friends to watch either TDKR or Prometheus (it came here only 2 days ago -_-).

Why DS music sound so much better when listened via foobar + kode plugin than on a real machine? It's CD quality. I do have one DSP extra, but it's only Dolby Headphone.
Unbelievable.

Off The Wall / Re: How do I translate a manga/doujinshi into English?
« on: July 17, 2012, 12:17:52 AM »
Well, since you already took a course, it's an entirely different story. I didn't mean to discourage you, I just thought you have zero background on Japanese, and want to do it in the simplest way. I'm a little oversensitive about languages - I know way too many people that "use" a foreign language in their status updates, or use a Google Translate translation without checking it, and think it's perfect. I just wanted to say "it needs a lot of work", as I know that learning a language is a lot harder than it seems. I use English almost everyday for 15 years, and I still make lots of mistakes.

Eh, back to topic: I can't give you specific titles, I know only that there is a basic set of kanji that are necessary to read most texts. They are in a fixed order, and are divided into blocks, from simple and common to complex and rare. Kids in Japan learn them in that matter, so it should be the best way.
Sorry for wasting your time.

Ummm.... I'm afraid you won't do much without properly learning Japanese. A language is a little more than just a bunch of characters or words. Even if you'll make a somewhat logical-looking sentence, you won't catch subtleties that can entirely change the meaning. Find a real course led by professionals, at least few semesters long (forget about any "language in a week for dummies"), and when you'll feel fluent at Japanese, think about translating walls of text.

/m/ is nice. Slow, but sometimes there's a topic full of sweet concept sketch scans.
/x/ for creepypasta before sleep.
/vg/ has useful info here and there.
/b/ for fun.

So, it's like Disgaea's reincarnation system?
Actually, I had Etrian Odyssey's resting in mind.

Think of it as a skill point reset. You can do it again, but better.

I'm actually doing something productive (for once!) and I'm finishing my thesis. I have about a week to write it. Then proofreading, printing, doing all the paperwork, defending it... It's a busy July for me.

Crystal: caught Suicune into an ordinary PokeBall. It feels so good.
Woah, it was 2 years ago? I caught Entei with PokeBall yesterday. In the same game. That roaming, fleeing bastard was very tricky to get.
Now I only need Raikou, Ho-oh, Lugia, and Celebi (yes, I have to use a cheat to unlock the GS Ball) to complete the 2nd generation.

Aaaand done. 251/251, each of them in the cheapest, simplest PokeBall (or ParkBall). Catching the last three was easiest than I thought. I remember having a lot more problems with Mewtwo in Yellow.
3rd generation, here I come!

Psh, weaklings. I'm still working on a PC with 384 MB. Works like a charm, it's just a matter of keeping it in shape.
XP + Opera is a very good combo. YouTube likes to get stuck only when using Flash, HTML5 runs smoothly, but it's not always available.

The next (last?) volume of Sadamoto manga will be released simultaneously everywhere in the world on November 2nd 2012, Poland included! :D

And now...

We should have a shoutbox there >.>

Yeah! I was waiting for the redesigned model. That, and the possibility of downloading retail games instead of importing (will it include older titles too?). It's almost too good. Now I have great motivation to do productive things and make money.

Around Dark Dawn's release they were saying that GS and TLA were a mere prologue to a looong, awesometastic series. DD added new plot, new kinds of Psynergy, very nice vision of how the Weyard works, and that dreadful cliffhanger.
Now it's "if >>there are enough people saying that we really must<< then maybe we'll consider another one"?

These days it's hard to believe anyone...

One of them must be Donkey Kong (that trolley game in NintendoLand). I think it's the leftmost one in the bottom row. It looks just like a ramp.
There should be Luigi's Mansion too, so I think it's not Jack Frost in the middle row.
EDITS:
And that thing on the right looks like Octopus from Game & Watch.
Shuriken is from Nazo no Murasame Jō.

It's-a one big gold collecting fest.

Maybe they'll keep Wario for the 3DS version. You know, with all that gold around, he'd be the perfect villain.

48
D:
I really, really hope that they'll make a non-wind-up version too.

Yes, "booo, where's F-Zero?" 8D *noms cookie anyway*

49
Comments are so funny. Every other E3: "booo yet another Zelda/Mario/Nintendo first party!". This year: "booo where's Zelda/Metroid/Nintendo first party?".
For me WiiU looks quite promising, especially with games that play like ZombieU. Gimmick? maybe. But still - it's fun.

Don't forget about that 3DS Showcase tomorrow!

Also it is possible for comments from people at the same point in the game as you to pop up during gameplay (regardless of when they were playing that point in the game).
