Original / Re: No Charge Shot.....Why?
« on: August 13, 2011, 12:15:14 PM »
MM4 had the best version of the charge shot.

Protoman have that version, but he still can't charge it while sliding, just like in MM5.

Why Capcom think this is good is beyond me. It's the same thing if in Megaman X, you couldn't charge while X is dashing. Just imagine. This is how I feel about MM5 and Protoman's charge mechanic.

PS: I have no idea what organisation you're on about.

Nevermind, freakin' english and freakin' translators.

I've heard people says that "bees in the water" makes no sense and so. At the time when MM9 was announced, I was 100% sure that Hornet Chaser will be Splash Woman's weakness.
The reason is pretty simple: A female have lower pain tolerance than a male, and thanks to this, a hornet's sting is more painful to womans.

Anyone with a soul misses the MM3 Rush Jet.

That's broken, they just fixed the problem in MM4 and on.

This change was made because once Rush Jet was acquired in Mega Man 3, it could be used to bypass situations where Rush Coil or Rush Marine were required and did so more effectively and easily than they could.

That's what I really like about the series. I'm glad they never changed the style of the graphics (for the 8 bit games).
Different levels & bosses & music & weapons are enough. But this isn't like the FIFA series, where they just release the same game for every year.
I like if they includes little innovations such as slide, charge shot, Rush Adaptors but changing the very basic mechanic is really unnecessary.

Windman fired propeller thingies.
And he sucked in air to pull you in close.
And he got up, moved over to your position and landed.
Repeat.

Not really, Windman doesn't follow a repetitive attack pattern, he is always random about what he will do.

I'm more concerned about this:

I mean to each their own, but that is one hell of a claim. Most everyone will disagree with at least a quarter of that statement.

Well, stage and music is arguable, but people who says that Heatman has better AI+weapon than Fireman is WRONG.

Some people says that Windman is an "Airman-wannabe" but I never really understood why. Sure both of them are air-themed bosses, but Windman's stage is very good, I love the ascending effect of the propellers and the flipping platforms. Airman's stage is good as well, but I have to say Windman's level is better designed. Maybe Airman's music is a bit better, but Windman's theme is catchy as well. Windman is the perfect example that an easy boss fight can be fun. He is fairly fast and he is always random about what he will doing. For example, no one says that Heatman is a "Fireman-wannabe", but Heatman is inferior to Fireman in terms of bossfight, stage, music, weapon.
Need some love for Windman!

Although I would like to have the charge shots mod weapons in the demake, I think it would nerf the charge shot and dispel the use of special weapons, which is what I think makes Mega Man, Mega Man, if you get what I mean.

The charge shot makes the game more action packed, but it's worthless comparing to the weapons.
Megaman 5 is the only exception.

As far as weapons goes, here's the order (8 bit games)

1. Megaman 9: Best weapon arsenal, period.
2. Megaman 4: Before MM9, MM4 was the ONLY game where the weapons are not just powerful projectiles, but almost all of them has some extra ability.
3. No, still not your Megaman 2, it's the original Megaman 1 hands down. Yes, hyper bomb sucks and super arm is the most situational weapon ever, but the other 4 are just plain win.
4. Megaman 2.
5. Megaman 6.
6. Megaman 10.
7. Megaman 3: Half of the weapons are generally weak, the second half is just MEH.
8. Megaman 5: Worst arsenal ever.

And why did Wily made Toadman? The sucker flinches with a regular buster shot.

Toadman is a battletoad.

Flashman's stage doesn't make much sense either.

I don't think there's a robot master who has a bad design.

Yellow Devil takes skills, this one takes nothing.  This boss is a big slap to the face of first time players.
