"The Call of Ktulu" by Metallica. Somehow fits the torrential rain we're getting.

X / Re: Why does everyone hate Mega Man X6?
« on: August 04, 2011, 05:08:08 AM »
The way I see it, X6 just didn't meet expectations. I remember when X5 came out; for us RMX fans, it was a real titanic super-game, continuing the story after a long hiatus and introducing lots of great new elements. And when X6 was announced, we expected nothing short of awesomeness.

What we got was a mediocre plot, some of the worst translation seen in a video game, hair-pullingly difficult levels with push-over bosses, a cop-out Zero resurrection, and my favorite complaint; most disappointing Armor EVER. X6 had a very clear bar to jump over; it just kinda tripped at the start line.

X / Re: which armors of X u should want to use?
« on: August 04, 2011, 04:51:53 AM »
I'm gonna have to go with the Blade Armor. Why? In concept, it should've had the most powerful weapon in all existence. Too bad we got a horrible toy knock-off to use in-game.

X / Re: Best and Worst Armors?
« on: February 25, 2010, 04:25:56 PM »
The Blade Armor was probably my favorite concept. Combining the amazingly destructive Beam Saber with the never-ending potential of the X Buster? I wouldn't want THAT charged blade coming at me. It's a shame the weapon was CRAP to use in battle. It was like they had two different groups of people working on this: one to promote it & one to execute it. And they didn't communicate with each other.

That said, I'll go with the Gaea Armor. Bringing down bosses in a matter of seconds. You can't beat that with a stick.

As for WTF points, my choice is the Shadow Armor. Seriously, it's supposed to have a Ninja motif. Since when does a Ninja obliterate everything in front of him with a single sword slash?

Uhh... I guess you don't read many comic books. o-O Methinks Manga characters would need an entire post to themselves.

Entertainment / Top 10 Hottest Comic Book Characters
« on: October 23, 2009, 05:38:47 PM »
Aren't comic books great? Like video games, they take us to a world in which one could be deemed a hero by their actions, or even conquer all they see in front of them. Where one could be superhumanly skilled or possess amazing powers. But, have you noticed that practically all the characters in comic books, hero or villain, have the most amazing, picturesque bodies & figures? Even average citizens are portrayed as supermodels or having hit the gym for several years straight.

I now pose a question; based on your sexual preference, of course: Who are your top 10? Yeah, they all look like cover models from GQ, but who are the 10 heroes, or villains, that come out on top for you?

A list will do, or reasons why, if you feel like it. Aaaaaand... GO!

if black culture didn't exist, they wouldn't be copying it, now would they?

i hope that didn't sound Klanish.

This.

Stereotypes wouldn't exist if they didn't have something to be based on. Could it be that there's a deeper problem somewhere else? *sarcastic gasp*

Everyone has their own opinions about things and this is exactly what I hoped would happen: Disucssion. ^_^ I have certainly enjoyed playing all the Rockman games, I just kinda wished we were given at least some hint as to what happens in between series(es?) I think the Elf Wars could make an excellent new series, myself. And I'm sorry, I just don't see how ZX connects to Dash.

For the elements of the setting to come together in a good plot, you need to read things like MegaMix, or imagine it yourself.

...I think I'll do just that.

16
Let me start this off with stating a little bit of my history. I'm a 26-year old male. I have been playing the Rockman games since the very first one wriggled its way onto the 8-bit NES. I fell in love with the entire game series and everything that made it up. I have played & beaten every Rockman game that has emerged out of sheer loyalty. I even ran a sprite website for a small amount of time under the guise of "Solaar".

I am in no way, shape, or form, what most people call... a n00b.

What I am, however, is pissed the [tornado fang] off. What primarily attracted me to the games is the ongoing storyline between them. And when all the mystery about unseen events came up, I eagerly awaited the startling revelations and closure. That was around the time of RMX4. Needless to say, I have been throughly let down.

Every single game that has come out either has had nothing to do with the ongoing story, or only introduced more questions and resloved nothing. Oh, don't get me wrong. Some games that have come out have been nothing short of spectacular. But everytime I see another "Shooting Star Rockman", a classic game ported to a Cell Phone, or indeed, A GAME THAT RETREATS TO OLDER GRAPHICS AND BOLD-FACEDLY STATES IT WILL NOT FURTHER THE STORYLINE, I cry a little on the inside. Actually, I cry a lot. Of course I don't want to play these, Crapcom. What kind of Pokemon-loving, fad-following, intelligence-deficient drool-dispenser do you think I am?

I would like it to be known that I am in no way reffering to anyone on these boards as such things mentioned above. I have a lot of respect for everyone here, as I've been acquainted with one or more of you before. What I am saying is that we're being played. Blatantly. Shamelessly. In the face. I know that all of you are probably saying, "Well of course Capcom is doing this; it makes them money!" Yes, I know that. But I also know that there's only so much of this BS we should tolerate before we rush Crapcom HQ and electro-shock everyone.

It's one thing to be loyal to something. It's another thing to smile and grit your teeth after another year goes by, having to endure big Rockman blue-bomber balls. If we, as the fans, put our minds together, we could think of something to get through to these so-called game developers.

Just something to think about.

X / Re: ZERO or X
« on: December 02, 2008, 10:48:59 PM »
Hmm... I dunno. That's a tough choice. I would say X because of his unlimited potential... but Zero has been shown to have that as well. I would say Zero because of his awesome & stylish weaponry (Z-Buster FTW!)... but X has that in spades. Not to mention that they were BOTH created by the two men who started the mess in the previous series, and as a writer, that kind of twist gives me a big literary stiffy. Hmm...

I'm at a draw. I'll go with Rockman ZX.  >U<

I'll have to go with X6's second form; the giant Terminator-esque body. Yeah, it was child's play to beat, but I have an inkling that were that body completed, it would have been HELL.

You're the first Ashe cosplay I've ever seen. And an awesome one, at that.  8)

Believe it or not, the gloves are purple cashmere ladies gloves I got off eBay for a steal. They were perfect.

Aww, but I liked RX! He wasn't just a pallete swap, he was the Forte of the RMX series. I think he should have been given an actual part. Terra's forever-unfinished comic, at www.stardroids.net, put a much-needed spin on the character.

Rockman Series / Re: Cheapest Boss Attack(s) in the series?
« on: November 25, 2008, 09:06:58 PM »
In X5, Sigma's first form tosses these blue energy waves at you that take up most of the screen, leaving only a small jump or duck space to avoid them. And you'd better avoid them, since they do ludicrous amounts of damage. And he throws them at, like, 3 or 4 at a time! Unless you're a controller ninja, or have Sub-Tanks to waste, you'll die. DIE.

Blemishes... aging... sunburn... nope, not seeing any of that. I'm being distracted by the terrible make-up job.
