Title: RPM RPG?
Post by: Sapphire Knight on March 28, 2012, 12:31:35 AM
Yup, that's the latest attempt at a project that's popped into my head.

Some (or very few) of y'all remember the RPG Maker sprites that appeared in 'art' thread a while back. I had planned on making a (somewhat short) RPG featuring the residents of RPM, buuuuuut I ran into a couple snags that made me realize that I'm not really cut out for doing it solo. So, I need help on at least 2 things, maybe 3, that would make this a collaborative project. The things I can't do myself are make maps (or, at least design them) and write the story (needless to say, I'm not very good at that either).

Now, the question is, would anyone like to assist me in this, or is this a plan to just shove into the "Forget About It" folder?

I suck at mapping; it's why my RPG has kinda stalled...

Interesting idea though. Plus, I was one of those sprites :D

I'd offer to do story if I had any idea what kind of personality or backstory to give to the people here in RPM.

thats as simple enough as asking the members involved as characters.

Sure, if I can get a reference and some details to work with. o3o

It sounds fun, but, not to rain on the parade, hasn't this been with PB's Galaxy of RPM and Ky's Busy World of RPM? Not to demoralize RPM here, but there did used to be more members to participate in the roleplaying, so it would be a bit harder today.

Other than that, I quite honestly would love to join an RPG'ish quest/story like we used to do a couple years back. Bring it back I say, but it a commitment to do.

I think he means an actual RPG video game, Akamaru, not an RP.

Gah, really?  :o

Well, I guess my worries are for naught. Well, just making sure someone doesn't feel downcast when another roleplaying comes along.  :-[

In that case, I want to be evil for once...

I meant more about things like notable actions done on on the boards... although maybe it's just my memory that's terrible at such things.
At any rate it'd need to be in-character, and I'm not so sure I could accurately represent real people.

So... It seems like this idea might be going in the "Forget About It" folder. >.>

Er... You're thinking the medly, which went belly-up from a computer crash and previously involved members (people with included theme songs) dropping off the face of RPM. >3>;;

The actual opening is in the "Take-Another-Class-Or-Two-First" folder. Specifically, storyboarding, as we're gonna do a project later this quarter that'll help in making it.
