Title: The Professor Layton Thread
Post by: Jazz Shaking on August 17, 2009, 04:32:00 PM

The Curious Village proved that Level 5 could make something so charming. I hope this and the inevitable "The Last Time Travel," as well as the prequel trilogy will continue the trend. That and the upcoming "Eternal Diva" movie as well. For those unfamiliar with this charming British professor, check out the ending of the first game if you wish to see how he is.

And a trailer for this game if you want to know what it's about...

Hmm, I never did finish that game after ragequitting while halfway up the tower.
And now I don't have to! Not sure if I'm getting these other games though..

So you mean you pretty much quite right before the ending of the game?

I really want this game now, when is it out? D:

Yes. It was that hard.
(or rather it wasn't hard at all since you could just keep going at it and you'd eventually bruteforce it, what with being a sliding blocks puzzle, but I couldn't stand it)

I found the tower easier than some of the other puzzles before, except maybe the last one =/

I absolutely love the idea of the series, given that I am something of a fan of dapper Englishmen in top hats and Victorian-esque settings. I'm not an expert at puzzles, but I do like a good head-scratcher every now and then.

I didn't but the first game, due to lack of money.

Should I buy the first game, the sequel, both, or neither? I need an opinion.

Both for plot reasons obviously and because they're both great.

Also, thanks Vixy, I just thought it was weird that she wasn't in the train.

Another one RIGHT after the Diabolical Box!? Wow, Level 5 works fast, I'm gonna have to catch up with the Layton games then.  -u-'

Dude, Diabolical Box is Layton 2, this is Layton 4. 3 has been out for about a year now. Oh, and 4 is like the Star Wars Episode 1 for the Professor Layton series.

I forgot about that, sometimes how Layton games come out of the blue like this when the third (excuse me, previous) game's not out in the states yet does suprise me a little that I forget there was a 2, by the way Level 5 works, we might see a Layton 99 by the end of 2020... and I'm gonna have to do a lot of catching up to do by the end when the 6th game's released.

After trying to do the sliding puzzle from last week, I think I'll have to agree, and I used to like the sliding puzzles @__@
