Decided to check out vgmaps.com and got inspiration by the Metroid 2 map that got colorized good. I'll do the same to various games. First I got 3 stages from the Megaman games. I borrowed most of the colors to Enker's stage from MM10.

Another thing I should point out to. In case you are wondering why the gates and Wily logo are unrelated to the stage. I purposely did that to match the colors Megaman would be with that boss's weapon.

-Megaman: Dr. Wily Revenge-
Cutman (MM: Dr. Wily's Revenge)
Iceman (MM: Dr. Wily's Revenge) -NES scheme
Elecman (MM: Dr. Wily's Revenge) - The bg color changes when nearing Elecman just like with NES.
Enker (MM: Dr. Wily's Revenge)
Wily Stage (MM: Dr. Wily's Revenge) - done by Yokuman

-Megaman II GB-
Metalman (MMII) - based on the GBA version pic I saw of it.
Airman (MMII)
Airman v2(MMII) - revised by NMario
Clashman (MMII) - based on the GBA version pic I saw of it.
Woodman (MMII)
Topman (MMII)
Topman (MMII) animated
Hardman (MMII)
Magnetman (MMII)
Needleman (MMII)

-Megaman III GB-
Shadowman (MMIII) - replaced with NMario's version
Shadowman (MMIII) animated
Drillman (MMIII)

-Megaman IV GB-
Ringman (MMIV) - used colors meant for MMAC GBA version
Ringman (MMIV) animated
Chargeman (MMIV)
Wily Stage 1 (MMIV) - updated unanimated.
Wily Stage 1 (MMIV) animated - Treadmill don't move against midbosses and boss. Updated w/ darker sky and updated moon and star twinkle.

They look pretty nice. Although some ares would need animating. But as far as the non-animated areas of the stage, you did a nice job on them. Enker's stage looks like you used same color scheme from his remixed stage from MM10. :)

I'm most impressed with what you've done so far. Keep up the good work.

I wonder also, if you'd ever be willing to put those skills to work in helping me and NMario with our Gameboy fangame project. With your tilset skills you'd be a valuable asset to the team.

Also, would we be allowed to use some of these tilesets for some templates in NMario's engine for the fangame?

The thread for our project is here: http://forum.rockmanpm.com/index.php?topic=6499.0

I'll be glad to help and yes you are allowed to use the tilesets.

Got Chargeman, Woodman (to redo maybe), and Geminiman in the works.

Added Chargeman, Woodman (WIP), and Wily MM4 Stage 1 and animated the latter.

I think that the Moon is colored wrong on the Wily Stage MMIV. It's supposed to look faded with the background a bit. In your colorized map, it stands out too much. :-/

I think the darkest color used on the moon is supposed to be the same color as the sky, and then use lighter blue colors after that. I know you did it to separate the moons colors from the background to add color, it just looks weird standing out that much from the sky.

I also think more stars were animated in the level. some of the single pixel dots twinkled too. Other than that its intruiging to see what colours you'd end up using. I myself attempted this map beforehand and came up with an entirely different colour scheme.

Hows this for comparison?

NMario pointed out I'd used too many colours in some places. Its tough to make these kinds of maps, cos you have no reference for what colour its should really be. But I think with the added animation to those missing stars and I if you wanna take NMario's advice with the Moon, then I think it'll then be ready to use in our engine as a nice template level.

Ah, so you updated the animated version, but left the non-animated the same?

I'll fix that when I get the chance. Been busy celebrating mom's birthday.

Edit: I fixed now.

Are some of these stages still a WIP? Wood Man's water tile still looks B&W. The top half of Charge Man's stage is still black & white.

If they are, maybe they should be labeled as so, so we don't get confused as what's finished and what is not? Or are these supposedly the finished products?

Stuff I intend to be white, black, or grey I just leave it alone. Chargeman is a prime example though I got a spot I need to fix where I forgot to color near a spike area. Woodman water I kept black too since it's total black.

When I get around to doing Skullman's stage, I hardly have do any work since it is a white stage.

Any chance of doing any of the other MMI stages in color? Maybe either Cut man, or Elec Man's stage?

You bet I will. Ice, Fire, and Elec will be no sweat since I know what colors I'm using for them. Cutman I'm debating on what to use. One advantage though with the way I color original stuff is that if it looks off, I can change the color with Jasc Animation Shop 3. Fireman (firepit) and Cutman (treadmill) I plan to animate.

Yea, I think Eelcman should be done. I think what I decided for the Game engine was to do 1 robot master from each game. StarsimsUniverse said he personally wanted to see Elec Man stage. So I think I may go with that.

I might do ElecMan, Air Man, Top Man, and Ring Man stage for the engine. Though I might change it later. :-/

Now 3 out of the 4 you mentioned are done. Added Elecman and fixed some missed spots on Airman and Chargeman.

Looking awesome! :)

Heh I just realized your Charge Man colors have somewhat similar colors as Plug Man stage from MM9. Except that I think his background layer has more greensh-blue than dark blue.

I wonder if I should start including some of these stages into my game. :)

Ring Man's stage looks nice actually. Though the sky could be darker in some areas. If memory serves there were actually black areas in the NES game. But I guess it doesn't have to be all the same. Can't remember if the GB version had the hippos in or not.
The original background of MMIV Ring Man suggests you start in a black night sky. However in the NES game, you actually started in a light day time looking area. So I donno if you ever considered that or not. But I wonder if it's something that could be done in the colored version? Or are we just sticking with the dark sky for this particular version?

404 on Ice Man stage. ;)

Fixed the link because I had saved them in the wrong folder initially. Ringman's stage I based off of this. There were no hippos but that six-ring eye miniboss was there.

Ringman finished. Got no timeframe for Cutman and Clashman but they too will follow the same suit as Ringman. Metalman will be NES colored. Fireman and Iceman I'll make two versions: NES colored and the intended GBA colored.

On ring mans stage, i think the black outline around the dark blue tilesets should be lighter blue. the bright yellow tiles i think should have a darker tone of yellow outline. Not really fond of the pink spikes there, were they pink in an early screen shot somewhere?

Other than that Ring man's stage looks nice. :)

I'll have Ringman fixed tomorrow. I didn't have a screenshot of the pink spikes I colored them pink earlier because the Battletoad pink thorns came to mind but I did change them to the same color as the ladder. Since I'm dealing with changing black to blue I can't use color change to fix the problem. The way I colorize stuff is that I open the BnW pic in paint then I color the section. Highlight it 16x16 and Ctrl + C. I do a Ctrl+V once then drag it into place. I then hold Ctrl and drag it to make a clone of the copied piece and put that in place and the rest is history unless I have to go to a different section of the map and repaste it.
