Title: A Doggy's Work
Post by: Akamaru on November 08, 2008, 08:37:50 AM
This year, I have a free class. Enough time to be drawing an writing stories. I hope to update this thread with a story and a picture (not releated to each other, but who knows...?) at least every week. This week's picture, but no story (sorry!):

Not bad the colors could be brighter though.

Blame the scanner. I wasn't even planning on coloring and did a half-assed job. For future drawing, shading will be done, not color. Don't have enough color pencils anyways...

Or ask PB to do it.

He can take any of my drawings and color them when he feels like it. Anybody can really.

That looks pretty good though, Maru! (My new nick for you)

As for me coloring it, I'd need the non-colored outline first before I could.

That's really good stuff there Akamaru! Here's to the birth of another aspiring RPM artist!

How about a story?

Caribbean Sea

Ninja Lou ways left and right. The wind slowly moves past him without much thought and leaves Lou a salty taste in his mouth. He could hear the grunts and moans of those who are working under him and the Great Empire. The water splashes and splays over the deck and his crew. The clouds were no where in sight and the sun shines as it sets with a vengeance.
“I have a bad feeling. A storm’s in my mind and heart can not change miss’ mind from it. There cause of mesh pain is them wretch able pirates, “ remarks first mate Jericho, walking haughtily towards the captain.
“Says a damnable pirate like you. I glad to see that you have no failed and betrayed me, replies Lou, with distaste towards Jericho, “Trust me when I say I have no doubts or worries in regards to pirates. We are sailing under Great Empire’s flags and colors and no one dares to oppose us. For all I care, they can rot in prison till Death parts us from them. Now prepare the cannons!”
The ship slowly moves across the sea, using the sudden fog and setting sun. They knew the alarms haven’t set of they hold their breath, as if to fear their enemies can hear their breathing.
“”FIRE THE CANNONS!” roars Lou across the sea.
This begins the face-off. Ninja Lou has been hunting Pirate Blue down for years, finally catching up to him. Lou’s ship, The Eximer, started to loom over Pub’s ship, The Mango Lemonade. The day  becomes night and invisible spheres whistle through. The sea was in The Exeter’s favor and her crew scrambled to help her along with oars in their hands and swords in their mouths.
Ares, Wanderer, Brickman, Dr. Wily II, and Ballade start their rowing with “heave-hob! The signal of fire has been given. Everyone had a motive to hunt down Pub’s ship and they began to sweat in anticipation. The bounty has whet their inner pirate and each of the Mango Lemonade’s crew had large bounties.
   Toss… BOOM!
Lou turns around and hears a whistle fly over his head. His hat, which Lou loved, was never to be seen again. A shout could be heard by the captain, Pirate Blue.
“Any slower and I could have sworn you were sleeping!” shouts PB at the highest on his ship.
Lou looks on in stunned confusion. He grits his teeth and shouts to return fire. Explosions are heard, followed by a dangerous whistling noise. Ares manages to sidestep and gets showered with shards of wood. Dr. Wily rotates a cannon and lit’s the fuse. He then gets cut above the eye as a cannon ball hit’s the wall and splinters are thrown at Wily. The first cannon. Wily’s cannon explodes and hits PB’s ship. Others begin to follow as Wanderer, Borockman, and Ballade follow. Large holes begin to appear in the Mango Lemonade’s hull.
Suddenly the opposing cannon fire ends. Lou orders to pull The Eximer next to the sinking ship. Wanderer gasps as she views the deck. Vixy, DominicanZero. Hitomi Agada, Sky Child, and their captain, Pirate Blue, lie in what they knew wasn‘t rum. The bounty was to capture them alive to be prosecuted.  Lou curses commands his crew to jump aboard and save any and everybody.
   “Hurry!” Lou shouts.
The crew runs to a member and check their vitals…
“AROOO!” Everybody turns in time to see Akamaru, the ship’s horrible cook, get thrown into the sea.
“Fire!” rings a familiar voice. The Mango Lemonade rocks and groans as it is punctured multiple times. Ballade and Borockman begin running to the wheel as the Eximer begins to sail away.
“Follow them!” snarls Lou, “Let none of them escape and live to laugh this off.” The Mango Lemonade begins to move to fllow…
   THUP! Splash…
The boat rocks and a large column of water raises. Lou, still in a half-daze by the earlier cannon fire, questions as to why water can suddenly resist gravity and fly upwards. He looks around. He sees Jericho with a small bucket trying to remove the water. Wanderer tries to prepare the life boat while the rest of the crew debate where to go and how much supplies they have.
Lou says, “May the best man…”
“…Wander the seas,” snickers PB as he throws the switch in the dark waters.

Pain-staking draw by hand to get as close to the original, but not tracing?

Than that's awesome! mental tracing is quite hard.
Title: Re: A Doggy's Work
Post by: Akamaru on December 05, 2008, 07:44:00 AM
I had a handicap. I drawn 2cm x 2cm grid on an original picture that was printed out. Then on the paper, I divided the paper so the same amount of boxes appeared. The actual picture printed from the printer is about a quarter of a page, so my finished product, which is the whole page, is about 4 times bigger. From there, I draw the lines that appear in the box as closely as I can. Since Photobucket is an ass, it cut down the finished product (The 8.5 x 11 paper) into a 800x600 image so it looks the 'same'.

If I had to free hand it, this is to my extent:

Of course, if I took more time, I could do it better in terms of drawings, but this is roughly a sketch... Its Jericho lounging on the side of the school. My own drawing is a form of chibi with some details to it... >.<

Story was hard to type. Enjoy...
Water Escapade
WARNING! WARNING! WARNING! Water levels are increasing to dang--ROOOAAR!
The submarine begins to shake about. As it rocks back and forth, the hard screeching of tearing metal continues. Water is slowly entering the behemoth submarine Wily has created. PB, having assumed command since Wily is sprawled on the floor unconscious, is hanging on the control panel. Wily was knocked out in the fist wave of attacks as he was thrown to and fro as a doll. The rest of the 6-man (1 was a girl, but it is easier to write 6-man) was either unconscious or injured. They also knew time was running out.
“What is the condition of the sub after the last wave of attacks?” asks PB over the alarm.
“It is still okay. A little salt water was in the salami and mayonnaise, but it should still edible!” replies Akamaru, the cook replacing the currently hurt Gaia.
PB hits Akamaru with his shin’ai.
“Ow! The ships hull is being torn apart. The creature is four-legged with bony fins and a tail, according to the Monster Scanner v2.4. There are no records on this beast we are dealing with. Suggested course is to—“ Akamaru attempts to finish…
             GRAARH! ROOOAAR!
Water splashes into the control room. PB quickly runs to stop the water from bursting in. He slips, burns his eyes with the salt water, gets up, and walks to the enormous pressure of water. He pushes his back to the hole as hard as he can.
“Pressurize the room. I want the to know is the engine is still working and where are those damn weapons? You’d think an evil genius would come up with something!” PB shouts angrily.
Borockman’s voice is barely audible in the pouring water and blaring alarms.
“Engine is… go for awhile before… We have an unknown… torpedoes… It is… aff… mons—“ No more can be heard as the transmission cuts off and a large roar vibrates the sinking vessel.
“Tell him to fire now! Aim and shoot the sonofabi—“
Scree! WARN--! WARN--! Electric func… losing pow… Power left… percent.
“What is going on…?”  Wily looks around in a daze. Waking up in the fourth attack and forgetting his was thrown about like a toy, he looks confused and scared. His sleeve is slowly turning red and he lifts pressure of his arm. Wily quickly rips ties a rope around his arm. Suddenly, behind PB, the water stops pouring in as the hole is closed by metal interlocking system that is kicking in. PB stands up and takes a moment to regain his composure.
“We were attacked by an unknown creature. Currently, the ship has taken damage, about 49% left in hull defense, 57% thanks to the interlocking system blocking all holes. However, that is still a lot of damage. We are unsure if the engine is working and the electric systems are either fighting or dieing.
PB takes a breath and exhales. He then looks at the mechanical genius would come p with a plan. As things were going, they were not going to make it. Their team consisted of six people: Sakura Leic (maintaining air systems and unknown of what is happening to her right now. Since they are still breathing, they assume she is okay), Dr. Wily (captain of the forgotten mission), ProtomanBlues (who brings up the atmosphere and works at submarine statistics), Akamaru (cook with some basic understanding of the controls), Borockman (maintains engine and electric systems), and Gaia (rookie worker to understand life under the sea).
“Alright… Here is the plan!” Wily shouted.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Here is the first part. I wonder what Dr. Wily has decided...  [eyebrow]

One word to summarize that awesomeness.

Intense!

Underwater adventure is always cool in my book, because of the unknown that lurk in the deep water.

So yes, I like where's the story going.
