Title: Asvelbucket Electric Boogaloo
Post by: Asvel on November 09, 2008, 05:29:51 PM
I suppose I should get this running again, shouldn't I?

Recent doodle; it's a friend's character. Her name is Emis.

(Y) if it doesn't involve something that will take me more than 45 minutes in Photoshop. As in, absolutely yes if it's a sprite, quick signature/avatar, or a black-and-white sketch. I'm going to be out of town this weekend, so you'll get it Monday or Tuesday. Is that all right?

Also, latest work:

ROFL no, actually, he's a character from Fire Emblem: Thracia 776. I joined my first forum, a FE forum, under that name because I liked him, and for the past almost-two-years it's stuck. I'm not even going to bother making a recolor or anything.

I actually don't know if I have any fan characters besides Alejandro, and he's just an RP character.

Well, imagination is kinda hard to come by these days, but it could be just me. I also played one FE game tho', but through ROM, but because I somehow flew by the game to a specific chapter, I wasn't able to absorb the story a little. >>

Both FE6 and FE7 had the Durandal; both were for GBA, but 7 was the only one released outside Japan. (6 has had a complete patch for a long time though.) 7 was the one that had the Durandal relevant to the plot, though.

Asvel's from the fifth one, for the SNES. That one's usually regarded as the most difficult of the series, and you could only get him in a side chapter, at that.

It's the one most people have. The ones before it are pretty obscure and can basically be described as "the ones with Marth or Roy in them".

Indeed so, same with other certainties of characters being in the previous titles, since FE was JAP only at one point until Smash bros Melee.

A full sheet of Asvel, plus map mug. I might make a battle sprite, but it wouldn't be necessary because the mage class already exists in GBA form. Then again, the GBA FE mage class has pants on... and casters/range attackers aren't too hard to make...

I can see that. Nice quality though, and about the siggy, do you have the ability to do full-body FE portraits? Those are freakin' rare. *points to the lady in sig* (I can sprite Tornadoman in the battle style, easy, really. just lazy to do it)

Exactly what I guessed. you are a perfectionist when it comes to these types of things, and of course, you can't take full-body FE Mugshot requests because they take hell of a lot of time to do. good work. but Bunny A looks better than B though.

Well, I'm taking a guess that Mughsot requests do apply to this, since they both take extra time.

Mug requests are really convenient for me, since I can usually finish them in my two free periods at school. Just PM it to me.

Himerus doesn't really have stats, but here's his data.

Attacks: Slamdown (He wraps the opponent in his whip, lifts, and smashes the foe onto the floor.)
Chaindance (He handcuffs his opponent to his wrist, spins and lets them fly off.)

I'm not sure I'm going to put Mystery Science Theater 22XX online, but I just like the prospect of Zero drinking from a fast-food Coke cup. (Is that oil? An E-Can in a to-go cup?)

Zero, Axl, and X are trapped on a satellite by Wire Sponge, isolated from communication with the rest of the Hunters, and forced to read bad fanfics about themselves. They manage to intersperse humorous commentary to lessen the pain. It's like Mystery Science Theater 3000, except it's Mega Man.

I have four or five episodes written, and a total of six planned so far. A couple of them are NSFW (due to the fics; most of the humour is clean, but Axl tends to make immature dirty jokes 8D) and Episode 1 is unfinished, because the fic they were reading ran out of chapters. :(

I did MST that hilarious Zero x Ciel lemon with the fiber optic dick, though :D

LOL

I found an X/Zero robot mpreg, but it wasn't badly written enough to be lulzy. I've dug through FFN and Deviantart a couple times and found some gems, but on the whole there isn't a whole lot of bad X series stuff I've found (and I'm not willing to learn enough about Battle Network to snark the massive amount of that they've got).

If anyone's willing to dig around and find me some badfic, I'd really appreciate it.

This is in response to a situation at school. A new student moved here from Britain, and he's apparently pretty fabulous, but people are being horribly judgmental and most haven't even met him. Ugh why can't people stop jumping to conclusions without meeting the person/getting the facts.  I mean seriously it's somewhat the same at my school not with prejudice but still jump to conclusions.  Everytime I walk to class with a guy they all assume that he's my boyfriend but first of all:

1. After all the crud that has been happening to me the first 3 months of school I don't want to be involve in any relationships for a long time.

2. Most if not all my friends are guys plus it's always the girls who assume the guy I walk with is my boyfriend...this is another reason I little to no girl friends.

3. No guy worth my attention, logic, reason and common sense flirts with me.  Seriously I am now very picky with guys thanks to my 1 crush per year in elementry school over looks and most of them had bad personalities so I learned my lesson early especially with that puppy dog crush I had with that negative egomatic narssistic jock.  Plus my first ex boyfriend I realise now is an ass but a good friend so I want it to stay like that.

Plus I'm starting to realise that thanks to my super ear not only do I have perfect pitch but I can tell a person's personality just by just hearing their voice and seeing their behavoir patterns in just 1 week.  It helps me with finding out who's a [sonic slicer], drama queen, negative egomatic jerk/jock, nerd, and sleaze.

4. The girls here love gossip too much and so nosy.  It's my business not theirs! >_<

They have negative egos 10+ of that than PB and everyone else combined. yet, they seem to perfer staying with thier own groups/teachers don't care about my troubles and that's why I stay away from the crowd. either they listen to too much love reggae or something else, the students act street and all that. and we have a special needs problems, and it's the infamous Boca Raton High School, of all places. Never heard of it, probably because it's in a different state but my school is the same and I call that type of ego negative ego.  We have those type of groups too and for some werid reason there's also a few african american only groups as well I mean I'm not racist but I find it a little weird...then again I find cliqs werid.

I would be in the nerd cliq of course, I mean it's the only one with common sense after all, but for some reason a lot of people in this school know my name and barely anyone elses name in my group of friends.  But I don't care what they think because when you care about what other people think you can't have fun or be yourself.

Two snaps up!

Actually, the poster's more specifically an anti-homophobia thing, though I guess it can work for schoolyard drama as well since that seems to be the latest playground insult. I mean, there are kids physically threatening this guy, and he's been here for three days. One of my friends is friends with him, and as far as I can tell he isn't an [dark hold] (in fact, he's really sweet). He's just flamboyant and talks with a funny accent so people are like "OMG HOMO" and trying to beat him up.

Not to downplay your point right here, but keep in mind listening to a certain type of music doesn't constitue being a bad person. If that we're that case, I'd probably be a pretty bad individual. XD

Is... Is...he supposed to look like a gay stereotype? oo;
It's an anti-homophobia poster our GSA is going to put up around the school, and apparently our school has a problem with the word "gay" or anything relating to it (like, they won't say the full name of the GSA on the announcements, so no one knew what it was and people never knew when meetings were, effectively screwing us) so I had to resort to rather anvilicious visual metaphor.

It's in response to this kid who just came to our school from Britain. He's very flamboyant (wears thongs, blush, has a picture of himself on his myspace with a... err, sketchy liquid on his face), but people have been gossiping nonstop, saying hateful things, and there have been like twenty boys who have tried to actually beat him up.

So it's basically my inept attempt to help.

If it had been my school, they would have been forcing her to change into male clothes every day. "Crossdressing" is against the dress code, they would say.

Myself, I got teased a lot because I usually had long hair and I was...feminine--still am, though. The only real difference is that I'm much more willing to express my femininity than I was in high school. People thought I liked guys. People still think I like guys...

People still think I like guys...
gotta love public high schools.

If it were mine, it would've been FAR worse. you would be hounded down by several activists, including preggies. they won't care, they will go for the more muscular, only to find out that they are stupider than they look.. and then you'll be targeted by Special Needies as well, if you were a "crossdresser".

Meh, I revealed my, well, femininity after high school. In high school, I got along with everyone. I get a feeling if I had revealed it while I was still in high school, I still would have got along with everyone. Although I live in the middle of nowhere, it's actually quite an accepting community as I have had occasion to find out in recent months.

My school just makes me half-lol and half-cry. They're infuriatingly prejudiced against different sexualities and gender identities, and yet they pay $6 to go to the wrestling match and watch scantily clad sweaty men grope each other.

So have some popcorn to lighten the mood!

It's that pink haired whip dude again! Fun times.

So I couldn't fit the harness on the little battle sprite. So what. I could have fit it on, but it would look messy, so this is it. 8-bit is all about simple and clean.

I might end up revamping the existing sheets, since I need to add a lying down pose for the playable characters so the sit-on-them-and-punch-them-in-the-face move will work right. Also I like the walking animation on this sheet better than my others.

No, I don't have any sprites this time, which would be more appropriate, but full color art takes me a looong time. Consider this your thank you for your votes and your Christmas/holiday present from me. :3

Erasure, my favorite band. On the left is Andy Bell and on the right is Vince Clarke.

This is the first time I've drawn them, so it was tough to get the picture to look like them. But I had fun. They're a great exercise in contrast. 8D

See, I so wish I was born about 15 years earlier. I mean, I missed so much cool stuff. I missed lawn darts. Lawn darts.

Also, three out of those four bands are my favorites of all time. Hint: They were the ones with less than five members. :P

So, here's an attempt at 32-bit spriting that *gasp* ISN'T Fire Emblem! It's the first time I've been remotely satisfied with this style. I've tried it several times before and failed. I still need to work on his upper body, though, and that arm on our left just won't position right, but whatevs.

Nicely done.

Also I hate Tinypic but Photobucket's being retarded and I don't feel like waiting on it. These are all drawn on a little tiny notepad with little to no planning, so they're kind of squished and lumpy.

I'll come up with a moveset later. I dunno if I want to have it go along with D/P/P or see if I can get it hacked into Red/Blue. It would be pretty badass to use though, but boy is Ankylong butt-ugly. I'll make something cuter later.

Also have some i herd u liek:

Ahh, I'm flattered. Thanks. XD

So I decided to make another knight.

His name's Kallervo. He's roughly based on a Finnish myth. I haven't quite finalized the colors, but this is the second draft. I think I've gotten the face, hair and armor how I want them.

He's supposed to be a cavalier, since this is for something based more on the GBA Fire Emblems. If we were going old-school, though, probably a Lance Knight since I already made a Sword Knight.
