Forum Stigma or forum dying?
« on: December 28, 2016, 04:30:24 PM »
Hello. I haven't made a topic in a while, so I am a little rusty. My concern is that with many of us gone, one must wonder what is happening to the forum. Is there still life in it or death?

I don't get what your saying. The forum's very much active. I'm only active here because of timeline differences (And whenever my PC cools down from overheating). Give it about 4 hours, or so.

The only reason I can think of this forum being inactive, is because everyone's probably still mourning/bitching over the deaths of many celebrities this year.

Fear me.

I've kind of been busy dealing with some anxiety and some depression.  I tried and fail to get a job before school started, probably for the best I failed to get one in retrospect considering the classes I'm doing next quarter, and now I got myself a boyfriend.

Not much to post about. Anyone here I care to share life tidbits with is much easier to reach on Discord.

There's not much... New stuff to talk about for out beloved franchise, so it's natural for the forum to be quiet on that end.

Plus real life.

I'm watching you all. Always watching.

This time of year is super busy for me, I worked a seven day week during the X-mas period of 12+ hour shifts so things like the RP system I had got kinda side lined at least until mid jan.

New job is great and working me a lot. Also, I have a girlfriend that I talk to a lot of nights so it's limiting my time here. I do want to get back into the Wily RP soon. Have some ideas I need to polish out first.

Yeah I should get working on that part soon. I unfortunately, needed a break since I was kind of in panic mode at the time.

I come on here once in a while to read posts, but I'm mostly busy with stuff in real life. I'm far more reachable on Twitter and Discord than I am on any forum.

Forums in general are a dying breed compared to even just 10 years ago. Thank social media for that.

Aside from that though, the foundation this site is built on, Megaman, has been in decline for the past 10 to 15 years, with capcom itself not being what it used to be. So naturally, if there's little franchise activity, (games, not media and march) there will be little forum activity in the megaman areas. That said many of the people here were obviously younger when we joined, with more free time. As time flies, we have less time. Thanks life.

Between personal [parasitic bomb] I'm dealing with, I've been having a hard time what I want to do seeing that getting an actual job is a slim chance in hell for me. I've been in art slump for a long time and I've been thinking of breaking my (terrible) artist block and try something for a change.

I check when I'm in the carpark out of work, usually, but that's about it. I downloaded Discord but I'm not using it yet, if that's a thing.
I guess all I can really say is it isn't exactly what I'd expect out of a $4.4M game

It doesn't even have mouth animations

Yeah, the lack of new stuff in the Rockman / Mega Man universe tends to stifle activity in the main boards. As for me, I hop by whenever my life isn't consumed by work (ie. not very often).

I think it has more to do with the absolute vacuum of Megaman games right now more than anything. The topic in which this forum is based is a pretty much dead one as of the moment.
