There's no way one can leave topics started by spambots open, but sometimes, they're just so funny, and one feels saddened by the inevitability of their being closed. That's where this topic comes in. Let us chuckle at the [parasitic bomb] that winds up here.

Most recently a topic was started about angling knives. What? I mean, I like to fish, don't get me wrong, but you'd have to be pretty professional to need an angling knife. How do these bots hit so far off-mark? Cracks me the [tornado fang] up.

Share your favorite examples of obvious spambot-made topics, here or elsewhere.

I love fishing. There's much fishing to be had where I now live. I need to get a boat and go on the waters of the Gulf. Sharks are so fun when you accidentally catch them.

Obviously a bot that had slipped by me.  I catch most of them, but every now and then, one gets passed.  They're sneaky like that.  Sneaky like a bass can be when you're fishing and it nips the bait right off the hook.

I remember I think mighta been last year, when it was late and there was at least two spambots running rampant on the site while no staff was on. That was something. Amusing, definitely.

One time I invited a bunch of bots to an AIM chat, and they started setting each other off. Everyone was so confused, as these bots started having the most nonsensical small talk conversation of all time.

I am going to have to try that some time.  That sounds like a hoot!

Good luck. I don't think any of the bots I used are active anymore. Although, hosting one's own sounds like a whole huge pile of fun. Editing someone else's already well functioning bot... Sounds promising.
