Out of ALL the Street Fighter games, they've got SO MANY editions/version of each other. BUt what one is your favorite? If you've got more than 1 favorite, don't be afraid to list them...

My favorite is: "Street Fighter II' Special Champion Edition" on Sega Genesis.

Any version that doesn't have unreadable colored text.

Seriously, though, I'm a 3rd Strike fan.

Street Fighter II: Super Turbo. Anyone who claims to be a fan of fighting games has to play this.

While 3rd Strike is one off my favorites, I'd have to say that I have a soft spot for the EX series.  The series as a whole was quite underrated.  It played great and had an even better soundtrack (Shinji Hosoe FTW!), and Allen Snider from the first game is my favorite character in the SF continuity (despite the fact that Arika owns him).

Tough call. I played a whole lot of the Alpha series when I was younger, Alpha 2 in particular. Street Fighter 2 is high up there as well, with each version being good for different reasons. Unfortunately never got to play much of Street Fighter 3's iterations.

I don't give a crap about fond memories. Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo HD Remix is pretty much the most perfected and the most incredibly well-balanced and best-looking version of the greatest and most well-balanced fighting game of all time. And it gives me a blast to play it everytime I do.

best-looking version

For the blind perhaps. Maybe if it wasn't completely inconsistent and copy paste traced heads.

Third Strike is just too amazing to not take the top.

I gotta agree with that. My evidence is any of Elena's animations. Nothing is that fluid. Nothing.

I didn't mean bringing Third Strike into the post as a counter to his statement, just saying that is my pick for overall best game in the series. He was comparing only versions of SFII visually. I do however like consistently OK graphics rather than an inconsistent mess.

Third Strike does have amazing animations though. As far as 2D fighter games go, I don't think you can beat its fluidity.

Indeed, Elena's idle stance is the most hypnotic thing I've ever seen come out of a fighter.

I happen to like Street Fighter Alpha 3 a lot (only if PSP didn't have so clunky dpad with SFA3M...), because it's the one I have played the most next to Street Fighter IV. Super Street Fighter IV is on the second place. I remember myself playing Street Fighter II Turbo on friend's console, but we never played it that much. I'm yet to try 3rd Strike.

I'm not so much in to comparing game mechanics and roster balance in each game etc, but rather have my opinions based on my memories of each game.
