I wonder how that stacks up against American sales.  Here in the U.S. I suspect Classic and X have a following among older gamers.

... I love Pokemon... O^O
Hey WilyII I have a confession to tell you...

There was a time that I enjoyed Pokemon (Emerald). My Pokemon Party:
tadah!
Ehem....Anyway what I want is balance! Balance is the key! LOL Avatar hangover. There's Rockman.EXE Operate Shooting Star...fine! Then there should also be on the other side of the track. But going back on being realistic I kinda understand why Capcom doing things one step at a time. Though I'm still not convince with the 28 DS title in fiscal something.

I'm also thinking the deciding factor of Rockman.EXE Operate Shooting Star that may influence Capcom in the future. Let say:

A) Rockman.EXE Operate Shooting Star sells VERY well. Record Breaking Sales!!!
Keiji Inafune: "I knew it! EXE doesn't fails me. Here I come Rockman.EXE Operate Shooting Star 2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,9000th! Hurray! For Everlasting Milking!" -_-

B) Rockman.EXE Operate Shooting Star sales doesn't reach it's quota.
Keiji Inafune: "Crap...maybe I should reconsider & focus more on the potential of other Rockman series."  owob

C) Rockman.EXE Operate Shooting Star sells poorly. (which I doubt  -_-)
Keiji Inafune: "Well...I guess it time for Rockman...to rest in everlasting peace." NOOOOOO!!!!

Definitely not C nor A. I'm looking forward for B.  8D

But he's already seen that platformers don't reach their quota either so that's right out.

its kinda hilarious how we're looking down to Operate Shooting star, every single Rockman Remakes that capcom gave us so far were great, so what's different for another one?

- We were exepecting a new adventure, example, ZX 3 or something, -

So am I! but that doesn't mean we can't at least enjoy it! >.<

B) Rockman.EXE Operate Shooting Star sales doesn't reach it's quota.
Keiji Inafune: "Crap...maybe I should reconsider & focus more on the potential of other Rockman series."  owob

I'm also for Option B. After Operate  Shooting star, it'll be pointless to make any sequel to this series--

Did I just say series? is this gonna be our new Rockman series? O_o - highly doubt it, its with EXE so far but could become a series if there's Operate shooting star 2.

by the time, I wonder what Inafune's been thinking.

nothing like :

''The fans must be looking foward a third ZX installment in the series by now.''

'' They want a new Classic, X, ZX or Legends title.''

Sure thing is : Rockman Operate Shooting star is indeed going to be a good Remake, how can I be so sure? well Inafune would never give us anything bad duh >.>...

For those who don't want to look into it, well wait another year then. for those who will look into it without being a big fan of the idea, well I'm like that too, I just know it'll be good, not as good as a Platform game, but still enjoyable, I'd sure rather ZX3 or even Megaman 10, X9 or Legends 3. but that's what we've got for now. so I just go on with it.

ZX sold better than ZXA..

According to VG Chartz:

ZX, JP: 99, 523
ZX, US: 125, 943
ZXA, JP: 93,184
ZXA, US: 205,099

So, in Japan, yes, ZX did marginally better than ZXA. Over here, ZXA did better by a huge margin. Hell, ZXA sold more than twice as many copies in the US as it did in Japan.

In the greater scheme of things, this is unheard of. Rockman games perpetually sell better in Japan. Which underscores the problem here: the "failure" of the ZX series is only because Capcom doesn't consider overseas sales in the picture. Japan is hooked on the gimmicky card-tradey stuff. Meanwhile, the rest of the world still prefers the classic platformer games, by and large. But it has to pass Japan's approval first, so we don't get it. No Japanese company is going to favor what the NA/PAL people want over what their own people want. First to your own brethren.

IMHO they need to take a page out of NSMBWii's book.  You can't tell me half the fanbase hasn't been waiting for co-op since at least X4, and two of the last three games to the series carried pre-release translation errors getting peoples' hopes up.  You'd think Cappy would take a hint, it can't be all THAT impossible to have two characters walk through a gate, and Inti is already into selective damage barriers.

In a way, that's part of what BN/SF has going for it.  It may not be co-op, but it is multiplayer.  Trading, battling, etc., it keeps players interacting with each other.  Sometimes I wonder if that isn't what's tilting the scales in the whole casual-versus-hardcore shpiel.  Think about it, how many casual games are single-player only?

Eh, for once I'd rather see the company just try to make as much money as possible.

I am shocked and appalled by this lack of sales.

*downloads roms*

Seriously though, I think that this wouldn't have happened if Capcom put in more effort to make rockman more popular. I mean, the Rockman exe. movies came out while the anime was running and they were still selling games, to be honest, it's no wonder why the BN series had gotten a lot of sales.

Capcom did the same thing for RnR, while selling the game, they also released an anime adaptation, which is kinda a ten-minute commercial anyways as opposed to BN's 30 min show.

To make it all short.
1. Make the Game
2. Sell the Game
3. Make into Anime/movie
4. ??????
5. PROFIT!

Hey, it's what Konami did to Yu-gi-oh! and it's still making money and selling a lot of crap from it.

Sounds good in theory, but that's not the reason EXE was more popular. Or Yu-gi-oh! for that matter. You see, card based games are popular in Japan, especially with the younger crowd. That's why they sold better than ZX, not because of an anime adaption.

HELL-O. Remember this?

Yeah, I just found. The PSP port of Rockman DASH 2 sold 1万 5309本, or 15,309 copies in Japan. =( Also, DASH1 for PSP was not on the list, and DASH2 was the 498th top game sold in 2005.

I'm currently finding to see if any other Rockman games on are the Japanese sales lists here.

Capcom needs to release side scrolling action games in America, and card battle games in Japan. That would solve a great number of problems.

As much as I maintain that anyone who dares call themselves a fan is obligated to own some version of Legends, I really don't see how direct unenhanced PS1 ports not selling well on the PSP went unexpected.  If you're going to emulate an obsolete title, much less one that is terribly underrated in the first place, you could at least do so in a collection.  Otherwise the public denounces it as poor value.

Im working on that...
