I got a neat 3D poster for the original Mega Man. It's pretty cool, it uses art from the Complete Works games.

They see the fan momentum behind the whole thing, and they're more hopeful. To me, they don't even see it as a risk; they know it's going to be a hit with the fans. I can't predict how it would sell, but if they eventually did release Legends 3... I hope the sales numbers open up Capcom's eyes.

And I totally think the project would've lasted longer with Inafune on board. He would've pushed to have the prototype out.

Well, I'm already prepared for the inevitable CGI use (abuse?). As long as it looks good, I'm down, but it's too early to judge.

Original / Re: How will the series end?
« on: July 18, 2011, 07:54:19 AM »
From what I've gathered, they do plan to end it sometime. Knowing Capcom, I'm not even going to attempt a timeframe. But I don't blame them, I for one don't want the Classic series to end soon. I think when the time comes, we'll all know.

I know it's about money, but Capcom has enough profitable franchises at the moment, so I don't think continuing the Mega Man series is strictly about money. I mean, there's very few video game series' that have survived this long, and I believe in putting it to rest the right way.

Pretty much all that's known is the timeframe. Although, like you said, Boba Fett will probably be a character, since the kid who played him in Attack of the Clones is in talks of returning. There's really not many important events to cover, but if it's anything like the Clone Wars, I'd be pleased. The budget may be restricting for a TV series, but I wouldn't doubt LucasFilm.

I really love this show, its a perfect companion to the previous animated series. The only problem is that it's never on. Other than that, it doesn't really hold back when it comes to content, people get stabbed, shot, etc. It would be pretty boring otherwise, but they've really done a good job making it faithful.

I'm sure everyone else has heard about the live action series that's set to take place between episodes III and IV?

Here's a good one, so after seeing this sub-par video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YLi001cKGjY&feature=email&email=comment_reply_received
I informed him that his video sucked (just in more civil terms).
But I didn't expect to get the following in reply:

you say that because you are mad ur favorite character sucks, but dont listen to me, just read all the comments on this video and on the second part to see what most people think about megaman, and my animation
Looks like he got me good there.

What I wish I was playing? Sega Saturn. Early CD consoles are impossible, I hate to say it, but the PlayStation was build right and works today, as opposed to the Saturn, which will pretend to read the disc, but not really.

Target: Terror is a great arcade shooter that got its first home port, but that's pretty rare. Super Smash Bros. is the biggy, and maybe Mario Kart Wii, without the Wii Wheel. New Super Mario Bros. was good, but it didn't live up to the originals, in my opinion. I don't play too much Wii, so that's all the suggestions I got for now.

That was just an assumption after there were 3 broken capsules there (one being Guts Man). It might have something to do with memory chips, but who knows.

And Flame, I want to know if there's an actual explanation for this.

1 day, 2 hours, 12 minutes. I guess that's pretty bad, seeing as I was a member since January 2009, but I'm working on it.  >0<

How come Mega Man doesn't copy their weapon? Was he just not feeling it?

Their conversation shows that they were the originals (possibly broken out of the robot museum), so there's no reason that he couldn't. But I guess it's Mega Man's choice (technically, I guess there just wasn't a place for it in the game).

Did it come with Killer Cuts~? <3
Sure did, I think all the SNES ones did.

On top of that, I got a Sega Saturn with many, many accessories at an estate sale for $10. Looks like Cutman's finally getting a rematch.

I can see where they're coming from. But YouTube's current policy pretty much takes down whatever's unacceptable, so I don't see what the big deal is. Full movies I can understand. But reviews are a completely different thing. Seriously, they'd be so greedy that you can't even see it? Either way, it's publicity for them.

But jail time is absolute bullshit. Sure, take the video down, but why punish kids? Like it's been said, it's very vague, so who knows what we COULD post...

Brand new Killer Instinct for the Super NES. It's still sealed.  *o*

Out of the few people who owned the game, I'm not sure many knew the trick. Of course, now there's re-releases and we have the assistance of the internet.

That being said, the original just summed up the stage perfectly, setting the tone and creating atmosphere for probably the creepiest Mega Man stage you'll play.
The GnG trick was just Capcom cleverness, and it fit, too.

Original / Re: SNES and PS graphics

The original topic has pretty much been answered. But as for why release a game for a "dead" system... well, Nintendo has a different appeal in Japan. Game systems (particularly Nintendo) have more longlivity. People still had their Super Famicoms, so Nintendo tried to further market it as a system for beginners, Rockman and Forte was advertised as such (they tried that with the NES in the United States... but with terrible results).

Just as an example, both the Family Computer and Super Famicom were discontinued in 2003 (the FC being 20 years old).

Agreed except for Mega Man II. I liked that one, as a kid, it was the perfect difficulty. Even today, it's not too easy.

Rockman & Forte 2 looks like it has good level design and such... but putting in the Wonderswan may have been the final nail in its coffin.

The one that I haven't played yet is Mega Man for the Game Gear. I've had the game for many years... just haven't found the initiative to get a Game Gear yet.

Mega Man has more screen space on the PlayStation, that's for sure. It also has better sound (although Mega Man X 3 is a bad example).

It's not necessarily harder to animate Mega Man 8's likeness on SNES, but the colors are limited, and the overall display is larger. It also appears he has less frames, but I'm not entirely sure about that one.

Mega Man 7 is one of the best. That's all there is to it. It seems like the only people who hated it were snobby game magazines. Without going into a full review, it changed things up, while still keeping an unmistakably 'classic' feel when the X series was dominant.

I never got the Anniversary Collection, I just have all the cartridges, which works best for me. Hell, it's the way Mega Man was made to be played. Though the Super Nintendo controller does take some getting used to from the NES controller.

Original / Re: Windman isn't an Airman copy!
« on: July 01, 2011, 03:42:42 AM »
Everything about Mega Man 6 had more polish to it. Though some aspects seemed a bit rushed, but it was a fitting way to end the NES era. That being said, Wind Man's stage was much more in-depth and detailed, and the music was in better quality (though not necessarily as memorable). Then again, had Mega Man 2 been released in 1993, we probably would've seen similar improvements.

Though just looking at the bosses, they both have air as a theme. That's it. Designs are slightly similar, but battle patterns are very different. Air Man takes a more passive approach, letting his tornadoes do all the work. Though he was easier to defeat, my favorite is Wind Man (with Air Man as a close second for favorite air-themed boss).
