Also, I like to use short hops, a lot, and no matter how I mapped it, I just couldn't pull them off.
That setup is made for Toon/Link. Great for Short Hopping and using his Grapple to cancel out of the Air-Guard.
I've pondered shelling out an old DS1 or DS2 and filling it with Classic Controller parts. I also have a GCN-PS2 adapter I have yet to try with SSBB. If I could use the DS2's cord and make an adapter at the end of it to connect to the Wii Remote, that might also solve some length problems.

We need a Wii version of Twilight Princess for GCN.
Also, a Wii Four Sword Adventure would be nice, except It'd probably be a new Wii title.
Add an option to play without handhelds(Split-Screen or PiP instead?) and I'd definately get it. Add WFC play and you'll have yourself a best seller. Also, I know it's totally against Nintendo's policy to include a game in another game while trying to sell that game, but including LttP as a side game would be awesome(new graphics, and maybe remixed dungeons and bonus stuff too).

Specifically regarding SSB, what was bad? What the Joystick weird? Also, how is the D-pad? It looks weird. Try to list all the things you didn't like about the Thrustmaster.
My CC Setup:
B=Jump
Y=Attack
A=Special
X=Guard
R=Grab
C-Stick=Special
PS: Also, keep in mind that buying(or using one that usually comes with most cellphones) a USB wall adapter and plugging the contoller in near your couch might be easier than using the Wii's USB port so you can tether yourself to your wii while wirelessly connecting to the Wii Remote that is wirelessly connected to the Wii. Also, those with some electronics knowledge(3v DC) might want to fabricate a docking station for the wii remote for a totally battery(ie?)less setup.

In addition to ending on a different level each time, you could try going in reverse weakness order (so you'll only have the correct weapon for the 8th Robot Master), alphabetical order, numerical order of "creation", or anything crazy like that. And hey, has anyone ever tried just collecting screws and dying over and over at the beginning of the game in order to fill up on items before even completing the first level?
Get the two screws in HornetMan's Stage until I have enough to buy 9 E-Tanks. Then beat JewelMan. Then go back to HornetMan's stage and in the group of Missile Silo Pots near the end, stand in a spot so two Pots are attacking you, turn on Jewel Sat., then bake a cake or watch TV.
