I can appreciate CD for having the level design with slower methodical routes being the main if only because it lets me listen to the soundtrack more. But there's also plenty of routes that let you bypass a huge chunk of the levels (metallic madness 2 has a fantastic skip using a piston to skip the long ass shrinking area, great for time attack.)

Its probably why its my favorite, all the others feel much slower in comparison to CD nowadays.

A Hat in Time is fantastic and everybody should buy it.

Cuphead is also a lot of fun, I really need to buy it when I have money.

Ian Flynn is usually considered really great. He's written for the Boom TV show as well and he's usually up to snuff on the sarcastic humor Sonic typically has. So him writing forces makes me think its gonna be a very goofy take on the "super serious" this game is pretending to be.

Got on my nerves a bit, which is why I prefer not so big stages for 2D Sonic games. Makes me miss the Sonic Advance games now.

So... you prefer levels that have one path with few secrets that are hard to follow because the screen is too small and have 70% of the level dedicated to a gigantic bottomless pit?
Also it seems like the PS4 version of Sonic Forces is 18GB big. OK... are we expecting huge stages or a lot of them?

That's really not that big. Especially considering that PS4 and XBone games install to the HDD its actually really nice that its only 18GB. Means they [tornado fang]ing optimized it and didn't pull some Forza 7 Bullshit with its 96 GB Installation.

Oh we all know the publishers don't care.

Of course having Denuvo just proves that they learned nothing from the Mania PC release debacle. Sega Europe's doing again? I get the vibe they're mostly in charge of the PC division seeing as the PEGI rating is shown before booting Lost World. They're really not bright.

Watch as the game is cracked wide open within a week of release.

Its not that small.

True, but that's not going to replicate buying [parasitic bomb] off the store (Which you could do, for some insane reason.) and I know there's always people who prefer playing on actual hardware since emulation is never perfect. Even though it has gotten considerably better.

Oh right the Wii Shop is finally dying.
I guess it makes sense since the rest of the system is already offline and now that the Wii U's officially over (Other than Ubisoft being dumb and releasing the newest Just Dance on it and the original Wii, I don't think any more games are coming out for it.) they really have no reason to keep it up for people who might just want to randomly buy a Neo Geo game or some Fireplace simulators.

This also means that any decent Wiiware is also soon to be impossible to get through legal means. Maybe they'll make a return whenever nintendo makes a Wii Classic Edition. But that won't happen till 2023 at the earliest most likely.

i'm here occasionally

but i'm mostly floating about elsewhere

On that note, I think I've overstayed my welcome finally. It tends to happen after a while. Anyway, this is my sayonara, at least for a while. Maybe I'll be back in a year. Or five. We'll see. After all, no one stays gone for good, unless they do.

See you all later, fam.

also, don't be a stranger. I understand why you're leaving but hopefully things can become more amicable later on.

ATGames just put out the Mega Drive Flashback recently, so you'll be waiting a while for a proper one to come out.

This is probably Mega Drive Flashback #20 or whatever.

They almost always have roughly the same games and half of their pre-installed games are dedicated to garbage tier plug and play games.
Oh, and they have [tornado fang]'d Sound Emulation and can't play a certain chunk of the game library.

And never forget that an official product can't even seem to use real boxart on the goddamn box.

Cuz you guys remember when Sonic 2 was rated T, right? Or when Sonic and Knuckles had TWO Genesis logos on its box?

Yeah but Generations doesn't have the correct physics.

Mania was graphically perfect

I still have no idea why Photobucket shot themselves in the foot doing that bullshit.

Its not like they're even relevant anymore, they should have just let themselves disappear instead of trying to shirk tons of money out of 99% of their userbase by pulling that [parasitic bomb] and ruining tons of websites in the process.

But anyway on topic, he looks dead. But at least its not as bad as the nendoroid face.

I guess I can see some of the Mystic Ruins in that now.

Though it looks more like the past version that Tikal kept yanking you to rather than the present version in Adventure.

Kinda neat that they're acknowledging an Adventure Stage.

Good continuity on them if they're truly going off of Classic Sonic ending up here from Mania's good ending not having Classic Tails around. Love that the spinning animation from hitting springs that was in CD/Mania is the spring animation again.

They showed off a new stage today.
Welcome to Casino Forest, ancient ruins turned into a casino by Eggman.

Its a Classic Sonic stage, a mix of Casino Night and either Aquatic Ruin or Stardust Speedway Past going by the background.

Sounds really nice, level seems short though. I imagine its still WIP.

Had to see just how bad it was, yeesh.

Nothing says anniversary like more 8-bit tossed onto random junk. And oh boy a watch that's like any other except it says rockman in tiny font.

I hadnt seen any postings after it aired but now I can see why.

I'm not even fazed by this, its expected now.

Nothing ever changes.

Not really.

He hadn't fully succeeded in that one, he was just *really* close to finishing his plan.

I like the concept of eggman succeeding.

I also am pretty sure the shadow levels are just sonic levels. like episode metal in s4e2.

All things considered that's... pretty accurate considering its a big ass plush of a licensed character.

The face looks a bit odd, but it's probably just the angle.

When's Roll?

Yeah the Chaos were great. I miss those guys.

Except Omochao, Omochao can go explode over Lava Reef Zone for all I care.

Also I feel like we don't really need an Adventure 3.

You should look up the cutscenes for the Lego Dimensions Sonic Content, Omochao returns... much to the chagrin of everybody around him.

The Sonic Boom cartoon is a gift that keeps on giving. How something so great came from something that was not great in any way other than a travesty is beyond me.

Well its noticeable that at first the show seems a bit more grounded and uses a lot more of that dumb lasso thing they had in the game. Then pretty soon after they go full sail into wacky town, and hell Season 2 made the animation look even better so it became even more enjoyable.

Also helps they went heavy on mocking the... less sane members of the fandom, and giving much of the limelight to the antics of Dr. Eggman and his general failure of a life.

Is it wrong that I think Amy is probably the best character overhaul? Eggman's always been a doofus but Amy went from "Sonic Sonic Sonic" to the one who acts like a moral/social compass/feelings person but is just as crazy, if not crazier, than the rest of the cast, considering how much Knuckles seems to one-up her.

I thought chronicles was ok.

Kinda reminded me of Mario RPG.
But then I remember the awful midi music, the sudden/lazy ending, those awful rock monsters, and horrible BioWare writing.

I'm not saddened by its disappearance.

For me Sonic will always essentially be the games, AoSTH, and that hilarious Boom cartoon.

What about the Archive Comics? Do those not count for good story?

Hell no, not after pedo-face penders hijacked the story with his stupid original the echidnas because he couldn't make his own comic about magical natives. And even if it was good story the art was about as attractive as a decaying whale 90% of the time.

The only time it got good was after they tried to fix it, and then when lawyer-ing got involved and the continuity got reset to the game's continuity (except for shitty acorn and knothole still existing cuz i have no [tornado fang]ing clue) it maybe improved but its dead now so who really cares.
