This seems to be the request thread so....does anyone have the Megaman GB Arrange soundtrack?  It seems to have vanished off the internet for some reason....

I just got Mega man 9.  Yep, I just got it long after everyone stopped caring, but I have this to say.

It really is as fun as everyone says, except for that one bit in Wily 2 that's pretty much kicking my ass.

Zero / Re: In-battle Quotes
« on: March 23, 2011, 03:35:15 PM »
Well, I realize this thread is old as dirt, but the last thing I need to do is make yet another one.

It has come to my attention that about half of the quotes from that guy on gamefaqs are actually inaccurate.  RaijinK actually found and/or translated the real ones here:

Quote from: RaijinK
Might as well go through the ones in the FAQ, comparing them to what's given in the book and on the Japanese sites. I'll just list the inaccurate ones, assume the rest are correct.

FAQ ---------- correction

Genblem:

Jyokyo kaishi! --------- Joukyou kaishi!
Commence removal! --------Commence operation!

Housha!------------Sousha!
Emission!---------Strafing!

Kraken:

Mishirushi joudai!! ------- Mishu (mikubi?) choudai (?)
Let me see your true self!! ------ Give me your neck? (I can't figure this one out, but it's got "neck" and "reception".)

Sound...dance!--------Vengeance...dance! (Said the exact same way, but the kanji given is for "vengeance" rather than "sound". Given that the attack is presumably sound-based, there's likely a pun in there anyway.)

Yami wo...---------Yami yo (not sure how it affects the meaning, either way it's "darkness")

Mi...mieru! ---------Mi...mienu!
I...I can see!-------I can't see (?)

Titanian:

Majiusasugi~ -------- Majiuzasugi~!
You really look gloomy~ -------- You really are annoying! (follows from the previous battle)

Kraft:

Bouru no da. ----------- Ooru oobaa da
This is a ball.(???) ------ It's all over.

Satsugi da! ---------- Chikasugi da!
Killing move! --------- Too close!

Tsuyoi...ngah! -------- Tsuyoi...na
Strong...argh! -------- So...strong

Hel The Giant:

Mukae wo...dare mo kure! ------------ Hikari wo, hikari wo kure!
Someone'll be coming...to the other side! ------ The light, I see the light!

Mandrago:

Shininasai! -------- Chirinasai!
Please die! -------- Scatter!

Cocapetri:

I'll (do something) to you! -------- I'll make you my next meal! (Not sure, "gacchigochi" is in katakana, suggesting it's less than a proper word, more like slang. I forget where I got "meal" from. I'm probably wrong too.)

Doshagan ni kuruze! ------ Tosaka ni kuruze!
I'm coming after you in (something)! ------- My crest is coming for you! ("tosaka" comes out as "rooster's crest", which fits the rooster. I don't know enough to say exactly what he's doing with the crest though. It doesn't fit into the FAQ's sentence either.)

Raingo! Yokei no jikan ja! -------- Jaganyo! Shokei no jikan da!
(Not sure)! Your time is useless! --------- Evil Eye! Time for your execution!

Magnax:

All of his lines end with "Do" --------- few of these actually do.

Pre-Battle: NDooooo! ---------- Fungaaaaa! (hunger?)

Grab: Toddado~~! -----------Tottadoohhh!
Got yoouuu~~! ----------- Take this!

Post-Battle: Uwo! -------Nmoh?

(And yeah, he actually does say "beam", even though it's a ball)

Pegasolta:

Mushigena gotoki ni...! --------- Mushikera gotoki ni.... (not sure how that changes the meaning, it's still "bug".)

Weil1:

Zetsubou seyo! Sutoomu Seiyaa! ------ Zetsubou seyo! Kyoufu seyo!
Fall into despair! Storm Sear! -------- Fall into despair! Tremble in terror!

Rufeera! ---------- Shukuseida!
No idea. ---------- You will be purged!

Hand over the energy! ------- Feel my power! (said the same?)

Uttoushin! -------- Uttoushii!
No idea. --------- Misery!

Yomigaere, waga shimobe yo! -------- Yumigaere....ware ga shimobe yo!
Come back to life, O my servants! ------- Revive....my servants!
(Book actually has "Damare" (Silence) instead of "yumigaere" (revive), but it definitely sounds in-game more like the latter, and the page I linked had that too, so the former is more likely a typo)

Weil2:

Shinenu.... ------- Shinen.... (means the same?)

Dou da kono itami wa!? Kisama ni wakaru ka!?!? ------- kono itami ga kisama ni wakaruka!
Do you see this pain!? You'd NEVER understand any of it!! ----- Do you understand pain such as this?!

Wa ga akumu da! ------ Owaranu akumuda!
I am the devil! --------- This is the nightmare that does not end!

Iera nigero! --------- Nigero nigeroohh!
(Something) run away! ------ Run, run away!

Orokana! ------ ?
Foolish! -------?

Kyoudai da! ---------- Chokozaina!
This is powerful! --------The impertinence!

Pitiful/Stop running around! ------ How clever! (Exact same reading, but I get more positive meaning?)

Yuusero! --------- Kieusero!
Unforgivable!(Not sure) ------- Disappear! (Also carries the same connotation as "F*** off!")

Ason de yare! -------- ?
Play with him! -------- ?

Kono...washi ga...(bumyou doki ni)...Horobe!!! Horondeshimae!!!!! ---------(previous post)
For someone...like me to...(Not sure) Perish!!! Perish and begone!!!!! ---------(previous post)

Not sure what the others are supposed to be. There are a bunch of lines left over. These are the ones I have down for Weil 2:

Youkoso, hametsu no shou
Welcome, general of destruction.

Shokeida!
This is your execution!

Koufuku seyo!
Surrender to me!

..But the unfortunate implication is about Oil Man being a racist stereotype...

No, not that one.  I made a mistake, it's on the Zero series article over here:  http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/MegaManZero

...I suppose a better name for this topic would have been "does anyone else think the Unfortunate Implications entry on tvtropes's Mega Man article is a pile of crap?"

I never once agreed with them, I just quoted the article and asked people if anyone agreed with it.

Rockman Series / Re: Was Dr. Light the real evil in the series?

Well, Gig, if you don't get it:

Zero killed the human villain, saying that race didn't matter; if it's evil, it dies. Unless there are details only explained in the sourcebooks, the Zero series basically suggests that Dr. Light, and by extension the first two heroes that laid the foundations of the franchise, were wrong. Completely, dangerously, wrong.

Rockman Series / Was Dr. Light the real evil in the series?
« on: January 17, 2011, 03:47:08 PM »
Before you all shout "BULLSHIT" and probably prove me wrong (I kinda hope you do) please read this (more or less taken from Tvtropes:

The original series has Mega Man  vs. Dr Wily, with the latter never being executed for his actions. Eventually, Doctors Light and Wily make their final works, X and Zero, with the program that would become the Maverick virus created sometime in the interim and implanted into Zero's body.

The Mega Man X series has the program absorbed from Zero into Sigma, who becomes the new Big Bad and spreads the new Maverick virus. The virus is destroyed with Cyber Elves, but the source of said Elves is taken over by Dr. Weil, causing the Elf Wars that ravage the earth and kill off billions of humans and reploids. Again the human villain is not exectued, leading us to the Mega Man Zero series.

After that, humanity and reploids merge into a single species seen in the Mega Man ZX  series.

In the Mega Man Legends series, it's revealed that humanity has been entirely replaced by Carbons, robots that perfectly mimic humans. The last human died before the series started. So, because humanity couldn't put down the human villains, not only did humanity eventually die, but the original villains were partially vindicated: Dr. Wily ended the robot war and changed the world through Zero, who would never have been built if Wily was killed after the sixth game, and Sigma more or less got his wish of a human free world, since they all died and were replaced by robots.

I realize this assumes that Legends is the distant sequel to everything, but still.....

Hi guys.  It's that day again.

I'm finally one year older.  YAY!

I almost made my own thread for it (like I do every time I ask something) as a joke, but that probably wouldn't go over so well....

Original / Idea for Mega Man 10 (well, 11 now).
« on: September 09, 2010, 03:49:58 PM »
This was something I thought of a while ago.  Capcom could have easily solved the debate about Mega Man not having his slide and charged shot.   Why didn't they just do what they did in Powered Up?  Give us a Mega Man, Mega Man with slide, and Mega Man with slide and charge shot.  Proto man could have just played like he did in Powered Up, with the dash from Power Fighters. The latter could actually make use of his shield (like the jump does now) as opposed to just being for cool factor.

Thoughts?

Rockman Series / Re: Why does every MM game have boss re-fights?
« on: August 18, 2010, 06:19:45 AM »
Plus, there's also the possibility that Wily's planning on mass-producing these guys.  He did it with Guts man, and he did it again with the Killers and Quint in MMV....

Rockman Series / Re: Worst boss designs

That was disgusting.

Meanwhile, how about the 8 mavericks from X3?  All of them Neon Tiger and maybe Crush Crawfish were either ugly or stupid looking.  ESPECIALLY Big-Mouth Catfish.

Does anyone have a link to a translation of the audio drama tracks from the remixed albums?  I found one a while back, but it's gone now.

X / Re: Maverick Boss Tournament
« on: July 02, 2010, 04:46:58 AM »
Mantis would serve up sliced and diced shrooms.  Although he's weak to light-based attacks, Split Mushroom wouldn't really be able to attack him fast enough.

Zero / Why didn't Copy X just blast the Resistance base?
« on: June 20, 2010, 10:47:03 PM »
I just realized something.  Before Zero came along, the Resistance fighters were more or less useless against Neo Arcadia.  Why didn't Copy X just crush them when he had the chance?  He clearly has ICBM-level weaponry, and his army easily tore through the soldiers in the opening cutscenes.  Hell, the Big4 could've killed everyone in there by themselves.

The only reason that Copy-X wouldn't level the place would be Ciel's presence.  Since he's refusing to kill a human, why not just drag her out before blowing the place up?  Clearly, he knows where it is, because Hanumachine broke in fairly easily, and Hittide Hottide was airlifted directly there.

Thoughts on this?

Rockman Series / Re: What was the first Megaman game you played?
« on: May 14, 2010, 09:17:29 PM »
The first game I ever played...well, it was a while ago, but the one I remember playing first was either Mega Man X6 or Mega Man & Bass.

Funny how the X game that people [sonic slicer] about the most was the one that got me hooked on the franchise.

I just realized he uses it as the basis for the P. Coil and P. Jet, and we really don't know where it came from....

Zero / Story Retcons?
« on: April 26, 2010, 08:47:02 PM »
http://www.themmnetwork.com/2010/04/09/does-the-rockman-zero-collection-storyline-explain-everything/

I couldn't really make much sense out of some of the story bits here, but the writers just hacked apart 80% of what was originally canon.

For starters, the Roboenza outbreak seems to be referenced at the beginning as the reason Light built X....except Light supposedly built X to create a robot with true free will and that Suffering Circuit.  Of course, I could be wrong and the Circuit is that Virus countermeasure.

Zero's creation seems to parallel Proto Man's.  He was unwilling to obey orders, so Wily sealed him rather than start from scratch.

Apparently the Roboenza virus could mutate like a real virus, and somehow got into Zero's capsule and mutated into the Sigma virus that started the X series.

Lastly, the Guardians are now made from pieces of X's soul as opposed to his DNA.

Thoughts on this?

Homing Sniper + Crash Bomb = Piercing Rocket.

This weapon shoots a small, powerful homing missile.  Upon contact with an enemy, it burrows in, attaching to the enemy before creating a powerful multihitting explosion.
