Gaming / Sonic Forces ~Join the Uprising~
« on: October 10, 2017, 06:48:39 AM »
OK, seeing how the other Sonic topic is closed, this one will be SOLELY on Sonic Forces so please keep it about the game, alright? Seeing as there's some interesting new details and reveals about the game's content I thought to disclose it here with the rest of you guys in case you missed or like to discuss it here.

Sonic Forces - Story so far...
The Evil Dr. Eggman (aka Dr. Robotnik) has succeed in conquering the world with the help of a new power and calls back powerful legendary villains to his side and has defeated Sonic as a result, causing the blue blur to vanish.

Sonic's disappearance was shocking news to everyone. Sonic's friends, who had escaped from Eggman's invasion, have formed the resistance army. The resistance has bases in several areas. Your Avatar visits the Resistance's Secret Base and it is then that the story begins...

The secret base was created so they could stay hidden from Eggman. Silver and Espio are seen as hero figures. Amy is responsible for communication work.

Knuckles an echidna who’s also Sonic’s rival/friend. Sonic has gone missing and Knuckles (Captain of the Resistance Army) is holding back Eggman’s invasion.

Rumor: Tails goes into hiding when Sonic disappearance and teams up with Classic Sonic to go looking for him and help take out Dr. Eggman's forces from another side of the uprising.

Also the Avatar is the first character you play as.

Though this is MAJOR spoilers, but a Trophy List for Sonic Forces has been revealed/leaked and really shows how much content in the game. For those of you who don't want to be spoiled, avoid the spoiler list here, otherwise read on if you're curious.

(click to show/hide)

So far there SEEMS to be missing trophies as it doesn't mention anything about Metal Sonic, as one of the other bosses are, and Metal IS a boss fight.

Though you got to give it credit to the people who NAMED the trophies. Either big Sonic fans and/or SEGA providing the names. Either way nice callbacks to even the American cartoons and comics on Sonic.

Anyway the trophies did reveal some interesting things.

Which are something called "EX" and "Secret" Stages. So it LOOKS like we're getting more stages and possibly extreme/hard mode versions of the current stages of the game. Including the fact there's 10+ for EACH mode/playstyle and we're getting Shadow who has 13+ stages, if we add that altogether Sonic Forces has about 50+ in the main game. As the developer of Sonic Forces mention the game's main story is longer than Generations and seeing as there's also 17 parts of the world you also have to save... yeah this looks like a long game for Sonic.

Another interesting fact is there's apparently over... 30 WISPONS for the Avatar to use. Seeing as there's like 15 Wisps in existence prior to this game, my theory is we're either getting NEW wisps for this game or the Wispons will COMBINE two Wisp powers together so you can use them BOTH at the same time. Ultimately there might be a final Wispon that has ALL abilities of the Wisp in one so you're free to traverse all parts of the stage. Just my thoughts.

The Drill Wispon was the latest one revealed, along with the Chemical Plant stage, and the Drill Wispon is sort of the "mocked" Boost gameplay for the Avatar as well as having the ability to "scale" walls. I wonder how that will play at. Also the Cube Wispon has the ability to make a platform made out of cubes to stand on. Possibly for accessing areas you can reach normally without some footing or to get to high places that can't get even with Burst.

Not to mention there's going to be over 500+ Costume parts for your Avatar as well... holy! There's going to be 1000's of combinations for the Avatar... I just hope the community make really interesting looks for their Avatar. Xenoverse had the unfortunate of that where people were mostly Goku or Gohan clones for Avatars. I TRY to be at least original.

Speaking of Avatar, it looks like we're be able to make more than one Avatar in the game. How many I'm not sure, but seeing as it doesn't seem to be locked behind story progress at the moment I guess you can make one of each race and gender if you want right from the get-go. That's nice.

And another thing... there seems to be a Rental Avatar function in the game? I'm... not sure what THAT means, but when I hear that I think of Dragon's Dogma with the Pawns being added to your party from another player's game. Considering there seems to be Races and Challenge Modes in the game perhaps you can battle against other player's Avatar in those mode if you want and keep them in your game?

All I got.

Yeah, there's going to be Daily Missions on top of SOS Missions... which I'm not sure how the SOS ones work. Is it from NPC or other player's requesting assistance? The Daily Missions remind me of Rayman Legends so it might be similar to that, but if it for currency? I'm guessing you need Rings to buy outfits for your Avatar, maybe?

There's also Ranking, which means online mode of course, for possible the Races and Challenges and Time Runs? Don't know if Time Runs are in, just saying.

Also I HATE the Red Rings, but maybe it's mostly because of Colors where you NEED to collect ALL of them to unlock Super Sonic. By the time you get Super Sonic you've done all the levels over and over again, there's no point anymore. Though they weren't too bad in Generations, but honestly I don't think the Red Rings need to exist.

Speaking of things never existing... it looks like the Moon Medals from Sonic Unleashed are back. I mean... why? I manage to get a lot during my first runs in Unleashed so it wasn't too bad collecting them, but I HATE having Story Progression locked behind an item count for a Sonic game. Please, please, please don't let that be the case. Maybe for unlocking something else?

Anyway that's pretty much what I got so far.

Oh! Aside from the fact we get some news on Sonic Forces for the Switch version. It will be locked to a solid 30FPS.... with 60FPS controls(?) and the resolution will be at 720p in all modes handheld and docked.

Well can't be helped as Sonic Forces was first developed for PC and the Switch was the LAST version to be outfitted to.

You know SEGA, I got more hyped and intrigued by Sonic Forces FROM a Trophy List! I know you're trying to keep some things under wraps, but oh well. There's going to be a lot of replayability and content in the game to enjoy.

Another track released from Sonic Forces to tide you over until then:

I already got both the PS4 and Switch versions of Sonic Forces pre-ordered and fully paid off. Looking forward to seeing all you guys who'll be joining the Uprising one way or another!

PS: Forgot to mention this when I first made this topic. PLEASE respect another person's opinions and views on the game and do not aggravate or insult the other user please. If you disagree and offer counter-arguments that's fine, but keep it civil alright? If you can't find a middle ground then agree to disagree and leave it be. And keep on topic as well. This topic is SOLELY on Sonic Forces and not other Sonic games.

That is all. Proceed to your Sonic loving or hating at a regular broadcast schedule.

Gaming / Super Mario Maker - Dungeons, Traps, and Bowsers~ Oh my!
« on: September 12, 2015, 05:46:13 AM »
I'm surprised there isn't a thread about Super Mario Maker or possibly one for listing everyone's created stages for it that they've uploaded online for other people to play. You guys don't mind if I start off first, right?

After unlocking all the tool sets for Super Mario Maker I went to design my first Mario stage to upload and I always wanted to do a Yoshi-theme one... which is you have to use Yoshi to clear it, but near the end of the stage I made it so it's possible to clear without Yoshi if you lose him somehow, but you need him in the first part mostly. It's easier with the second part.

I do a lot of trial and errors on it until I got something I liked, though I do wish I could make the stage even longer. I like to hear your guys' opinions, feedback, and criticism on it and see what I could do to improve it.

The stage is kinda hard, but it's doable and fun to try to beat! Let me know!
Though for those who played my stage hasn't beaten it yet... is it really that hard? Only 49 people have played it and only 2 have cleared it so far.

Yoshi's Spike Castle
Course ID:

I'll see if I can make a video of it, if I can find where I put my Capture Card.

I also like to see what your Mario Stages are so post your Course IDs here and let everyone try it out! Let's a-go everybody!

*Jaco the Space Patrol Police from the manga created by Akira Toriyama will be in all regions of the game

*Saiyan CaCs can go up to SSJ2, cannot go to SSJ3 (devs mention it will be their next challenge... possible sequel in the future?)

*Local 1v1 battles only for Multiplayer, no split screen, and online has 3v3 and 2v2 matches

*Super Saiyan God Goku, Beerus, and Whis will be in the game

*At least 8 Created Character Slots and CaCs have body and height types, no slim Male Majins body type

*Can only use one CaC for Story Mode and it's tied to that CaC so if you want to play as a Female Majin you have to create a new CaC and start that Majin CaC from the beginning (unknown if you can use your other CaC to fight in Multiplayer Battles)

*More Movie Characters

*The story mode doesn't contain GT, though its story might be added via DLC (from Interview)

*Undecided if "Resurrection of F" outfits and characters will be in the game

*No Android Race (but we can try to make our Earthlings look like them!)

Character Passive Abilities

Balance stats for both offense and defense.
Ki refills automatically and attacks rises when maxed.

All in all the Earthlings are the well-rounded race, no real strength or weakness, but I do like the "Ki Refills automatically" part as it points out to an Android/Cyborg-like feature for the Earthlings, so we kinda got an Android character on top of Humans.

A warrior tribe that has low health but high attack power.
Attack power rises when health is low, and all stats rise after reviving.

Males have better attack power but low health while Females have higher health but lower attack power. (From what I recall from the Network Test)

Low attack, but high health and Stamina refills quickly.
Items are more effective than other races and health is regenerated when low.

High defense but slow Stamina recovery. Defense bonus
when Stamina is maxed. Stats differ by gender.

Males have more health, but lower movement speed.
Females have higher movement speed, but lower health.

No information on this race's passive abilities yet or their official name for the game. Everything is currently unknown on this one.

« on: August 07, 2014, 06:59:30 AM »
Well to keep every Digimon-related news in one section I will be keeping them all in here for convenience like with the Pokemon, Zelda, Mario, and other game threads so not to make a mess. First up... Digmon All-Stars Arena!

Digimon All-Stars Arena - First Trailer

This first Digimon game in a long time and designed for the West in mind (no Japan release for it as of yet) and is a 4-player brawler, that plays like Power Stones (as the developers stated), where you can play co-op with your friends locally or fight all out in a battle royale using 12 Digimons from the Digimon animes including their Digivolution forms making a total of 32 Digimons to play as with these as the confirm Digimon; Agumon, Gabumon, Biymon, Tentomon, Gatomon, Veemon, Shoutmon, and Dorulumon

Game Summary
"In Digimon All-Star Rumble, the Digital World enjoys a time of restored peace after overcoming numerous wars and crises. However, the restless Digimon must still battle to Digi-volve, so they propose to hold their first ever “Digimon Evolution Tournament” to determine who is the strongest of them all. In the vivaciously competitive tournament, up to four players will be able to select from a roster of 12 popular base Digimon characters and play as a total of 32 Digimonforms pulled from every Digimon television series ranging from Digimon Adventure to Digimon Fusion. Players control these digital monsters and battle for supremacy in the main Versus Battle mode that players of all skill levels will be able to pick up and enjoy.

By powering up in battle, players can Digi-volve into a much more powerful form, creating a unique combat atmosphere where players must balance attacking while simultaneously attempting to Digi-volve and gain the upper hand. Utilizing special techniques during matches such as activating a Digimon’s “Evolution” power-up along with launching an aggressive attack or defensive strategy will provide colorful and exciting party-arena gameplay so that Digimon fans of all ages can face-off against rivals and become a true Digimon hero!

Digimon All-Stars Arena will be coming out to the PS3 and 360 this November 11th for the US and Europe, and it will be English Dubbed as well! Go Digimon!

Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth - First Trailer

Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth - PV Trailer

In Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth you play as either a half-digitized self-proclaim detective Male or Female Protagonist who is also a hacker by traveling between two worlds, the Real World and Digital World with the help of a mysterious virus program living in the Digital World called "Digimon". Just like the Digimon Story games for the DS you have 3 Digimon following behind you, but battle it out in a 3-on-3 battle field like Digimon World 2 in RPG-style as you battle your way to uncovering the mysterious cases of the Cyberspace Eden from leaking into the Real World.

As well as a mysterious data-erasing Ghost Boy and strange monster data called "Eaters" that feed off the "data" of both human and Digimon alike.

In Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth, players will be able to capture enemy Digimon by using a data scan feature that lets you recruit them once the data goes over 100%. There will also be some Digimon that can manipulate hackers, and considering that the Protagonist is one him or herself, sounds like they could be a pain to handle.

Digimon Cyber Sleuth, which is being developed by the makers of Valkyrie Chronicless III and the artwork done by Suzuhito Yasuda, will be released in Japan for the Vita in 2015.

PS: Hey guys been a while! Been REALLY busy lately, playing FFXIV: ARR a lot for the past few months. My god these Zodiac Weapons are such a pain in the butt to make! Only got to the Animus form of my Weapon, which took 13 days to get, and from the ATMA Weapon form which literally took me a month (well less than 30 days really) to get as it took me a while to get all 12 atma items from the FATEs which are 2% drops and the FATEs respawn time is LONG.

Anyway nice to see you guys again! ^_^

DASH / "Our Own" Rockman Dash 3/ Mega Man Legends 3
« on: May 26, 2014, 09:18:57 AM »

It seems like deciated fans have take it upon themselves to make their own 3D fan-game version of the called Megaman Legends using the Unity programmer (with C# as the main programming) and this teaser trailer is to show what they've got so far and hope to recruit more people to help fuel this project.

I wasn't sure where to put this information and it didn't seem like anyone had this up yet... I hope, I always seem to be late to the party (always had as a kid :P).

I have to say it looks good for a fan-game and it brings a tear to the eyes. I hope it goes well!

Rockman Series / Mega Man Parody Videos
« on: February 18, 2014, 03:04:07 PM »
Went onto YouTube and saw this for one of my recommended and checked it out:

It's a parody of Namco x Capcom opening replaced with Mega Man characters instead, though I don't recognize some of them. I thought it looked really great and it came out about 8 days ago from this post and wanted to share it with you guys in case you missed it.

It would be interesting to see other Mega Man parody videos I haven't seen yet, you got to give credit where credit is due. This video is spot-on!

I'm looking for some tutorials on making a vortex of sorts, but the coloring and style cartoonish instead of realistic and I can't seem to find one and was curious if someone else has or knows how to make it, especially in Photoshop or perhaps Paint Tool SAI if that's possible.

I want to find a tutorial to help me draw this kind of vortex:

(You can mute the sound, I couldn't find a video without saying talking over and just letting the viewers just watch and read on their own)

Yeah, something like that. Very light and calming like you're in a dream but also a surreal feeling that you're about to enter another world. I have made a vortex one on a video tutorial, but sadly it's too realistic for what I'm planning so I need a more cartoon-ish or flash animation type of vortex to use and I need help knowing how to make one.

And at 3:43 in the same video I wanted to make a blurry silhouette as well just like that as it's suppose to be a reflection of the player/reader.

Reason is that I'm making a Visual Novel and I wanted to get these scenes out of the way as they're the first thing to happen to the player where they leave behind their human form to assume another form in the world they're about to enter.

Does anyone got any ideas how I can make these? I much as I would like to ask someone to draw these I like to learn myself so I can make my own scenes and contribute to my own project with what I envision.

Please and thank you!

Off The Wall / Nippon-Yasan Asian Import Online Store
« on: January 06, 2014, 03:34:29 AM »
Anyone use this website to import games, figures, artbooks, devices, and the like from here?

Well last December I placed an order to import a Japanese 3DS LL (for the cost of $180 US Dollars) and two games with it, Attack on Titan: Freedom of Humanity and Digimon World Re:Digitize Decode, however I learned sometime after that they normally close during the holiday and after it they start their services again which is Jan. 5th 2014.

However, I haven't gotten an confirm on shipping yet as it still says "Payment Accepted" but I'll see tomorrow if it does ship out. This place has the CHEAPEST prices to import goods from the East compared to Yes-Asia and Play-Asia and I think only AmiAmi comes close to it.

Anyway has anyone use this site before to give me their opinions of their purchases from there? Just to know my orders will be shipped out (like to get the AoT game before at the 18th as that's when the Free Story DLCs for Levi and Sasha end).

Entertainment / Sonic Boom - The Next New Sonic the Hedgehog TV series
« on: October 03, 2013, 07:20:48 AM »

This Fall 2014, Sonic the Hedgehog returns to the television world once again! But there's a catch! The show is going to be CGI instead of the usual animated appearance for our furry friends and the characters have a revised looks for them for this newest adventure in the blue blur's journey!

Move as quickly as you can when it airs on Cartoon Network in the US and CANAL J & GULLI in France (with a global release soon after!) or else the blue blur will leave you in the dust!

Sonic Boom is a "character-driven comedy" series with Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and Amy battle against the evil Dr. Eggman along with both old and new characters into the mix!

Now that, that's out of the way... why the heck? Why does it look like Sonic has bed head and is he wearing a jacket? And what did they do to Knuckles? They supper buffed him up! o_0

And Amy looks the same except her dress has a different look to it now, though Tails looks safely the same as before. Not sure who the VAs are (but most likely the same as the current Sonic voices), but...

I'm not liking the new direction there are going with this. >_>;
I was skeptically with "Beware the Batman" which is a CGI Batman series that doesn't have Batman's A-Gallery Villains and the lesser known ones (except for Ra's al Gul) and I'm liking it despite Alfred uses guns to fight and there's no Robin but a girl named Katana being Batman's side-kick.

Though I hope it's good despite the... weird looks for the characters even if it's just silhouettes of them, but what do you guys think?

Off The Wall / Do you know any good places to buy Cosplay Costume?
« on: September 23, 2013, 10:01:38 PM »
Do you guys know any reliable sites where you can buy cosplay costumes? I'm looking for a good quality KH2 Sora Outfit to wear at the New York Comic-Con coming up this October and I don't trust eBay for something like this but I also think eBay is possibly not a good place to get such costumes as well.

And finding a Keyblade to go with the Costume will be just as tricky, does anyone know where I might get one (the Kingdom Key) to go with the outfit?.

Gaming / Dragonball Z: Battle of Z [Yup, time for another DBZ game!]
« on: June 19, 2013, 07:53:03 PM »

Namco Bandai has announced a new DBZ game for the PS3, Xbox 360, and Playstation Vita most likely at the end of this year but no release date has been announced yet.

So far one of the new features of the game will have a battle royale of 8 players fighting at the same time and it looks to have the same graphics as Dragon Ball Z Ultimate Tenkaichi.

The game will have 4 player co-op and online multiplayer support where you can attack together and heal one another in battle.

Also Goku's new Super Saiyan form, Super Saiyan God, from the newest DBZ movie that took place between the last two chapters of the manga and Akira Toriyama wrote and design the new villains that was released early this year in March will be playable.

I will bring you more info on this as more is revealed. Stay tuned!

Hey there, sorry to trouble you people but I need some help. I'm helping a friend of mine find some sprites for a Touhou RPG he's making and he needs certain Touhou Sprites in his game and we can't seem to find them or find them in the RPG Maker XP-style as they're either in 2003 or VX style which we don't need.

We currently need:
Nue Houjuu
Shou Toramaru
Kyouko Kasodani
Toyosatomimi no Miko
Yoshika Miyako
Seiga Kaku
Mononobe no Futo
Soga no Tojiko
Mamizou Futatsuiwa
Tenshi Hinanai
Iku Nagae

If you can either find these sprites in XP-style or if you guys could help make them we appreciate it! He's making the game mostly by himself and I came in later and is helping him out, out of my own spare time. We would appreciate it if you could help us. Please and thank you.

Oh! And while we're on the subject on Touhou are there any good Japanese-era Tilesets and Character Sets we could use for the Touhou setting? The European-era of RMXP doesn't fit with the cast. Thanks once again!

I do not know the artist how made them, but here's some of them:

This is the artstyle and the looks of the characters. My friend found these sprites by searching everywhere, even pixiv, but the ones I mentioned in my first post are the ones missing and/or needed the most with the exception of Tenshi and Iku but it's nice to have the whole gang around.

And any Touhou/Japanese Tilesets as well? Only 2003 and VX version seems to exist yet the XP version doesn't for some reason despite that Touhou is very popular.

Location of the Sprites found, thanks to my friend though not all Touhou sprites and hasn't been updated in a while:

Tenshi, Iku, and Narzin sprites were found here:

Posted on: April 23, 2013, 02:13:37 AM
It would really help if someone knows if other Touhou sprite exist out there... so in the meantime I made this Shou sprite:

This was the only Shou Toramaru sprite I could find on Pixiv, and it wasn't exactly good:

Which is why I made my version myself.

Posted on: May 01, 2013, 05:37:47 AM
Alright since there haven't been any updates I went ahead and made the Yumemi Okazaki sprites my friend needed, here she is:

Yumemi Okazaki [Short-Hair version]

Yumemi Okazaki [Long-Hair version]

I made both her original Long-hair braided look and her fanon short hair look.

I really hope you guys can help me with the rest... in case you're not sure about the characters, here's some links to them:

Chiyuri Kitashirakawa

Hatate Himekaidou

Kasen Ibaraki

Nue Houjuu

Kyouko Kasodani

Toyosatomimi no Miko

Yoshika Miyako

Off The Wall / What's the best Graphics Tablet to get?
« on: April 27, 2013, 01:57:06 AM »
I'm looking to invest into buying a Graphics Tablet for my PC so I can do digital artwork and improve my skills to use Tablets to draw on computer, as my scanner doesn't get all of my drawings unless I align it just right, and I plan to do many artwork in the future as becoming a Game Developer is one of the dreams and I like to improve on my art abilities as that's where I like to focus on.

I have an old Bamboo Wacom tablet, though I hate how small it is and I have to look back and forth from the screen and tablet to make sure I do go past the borders on the touch screen of the Tablet.

I've seen the Wacom Cintiq 12wx tablet and it looks about what I need to get the nature flow and feeling of drawing on paper on the computer as I have Photoshop and Paint Tool Sai. Though it's been a few years since it debuted and I was wondering if there's a better version now than the old Wacom Cintiq 12wx tablet.

In this video:
<a href="" target="_blank" class="aeva_link bbc_link new_win"></a>

I noticed that the Tablet is even BIGGER than the Wacom Cintiq 12wx tablet I noticed and was wondering what version this is, how much it cost, and is it worth to get it. I prefer to draw on the tablet like a paper and see what I'm doing instead of looking up to the screen or try to figure out the flow of what I'm drawing while on screen without looking at my tablet which is... a little wonky to work with at times.

What do you guys recommended? I know I have to save up to over $1000 to get one of these tablet but I'm willingly to buy one.

Gaming / The Final Fantasy Thread ~ For all your Chocobo Needs!
« on: March 23, 2013, 04:29:09 AM »
There's quite a bit of news on some of the Final Fantasy games as of late so I'll be kind enough to let you fans know! First up, Lightning's Return: Final Fantasy XIII which is the last of the FFXIII games (hopefully... I want to see Versus soon).

Lightning returns in the third game of the Final Fantasy XIII games and this time she's going solo, as well as visiting a new area called "Dead Dune" in the her latest adventure, and she comes equip with an unique ability called "Overclock" that freezes her enemies in place... so yeah she gains a Time Stopping ability.

In order for Lightning to use this newfound ability she has to use GP, a brand new stat for this FFXIII game, which also uses the GP to use recovery magic along her HP and MP stats.

Lightning can also guard and evade attacks as well, with a button trigger for the evade where you have to time it just right to dodge the oncoming attack and move out of the way. Also Lightning's attacks and abilities are map to four buttons in this new battle system and changing Lightning's costume will affect her stats and abilities... kinda like the Dressphere System from Final Fantasy X-2.

The battle system will be faster pace than the previous ones in the series.

Lumina is the Antagonist of the story (who looks eerily similar looking to Serah in my opinion) and Lightning also is fighting against Noel... for his soul?

Lightning's Return: Final Fantasy XIII will be released this Fall for both the Xbox 360 and PS3.

And now for the HD Remaster of Final Fantasy X AND Final Fantasy X-2!

The games have been announced to be released in the US late this year for both the PS3 and Vita version, where the PS3 has both games bundled together and sadly for the Vita both games will be sold separately.

One of the reasons I assume of the lack of FFX HD news was apparently they were adding FFX-2 to the mix as well which is an excellent surprise and they going to use the International Versions of the game which included the many updates to the games that made it even better and the US will be getting these versions as well.

Final Fantasy X and Final Fantasy X-2 HD remasters will be release in Japan and the US this year for both the PS3 and Vita. Look forward to it!

Off The Wall / Do the Zodiac Animal have names?
« on: March 15, 2013, 02:49:37 PM »
The 12 animals of the Chinese Zodiac, do they have names associate with them or legends about each of these animals which they have names?

I'm a little curious as I want to write a little story about each of the Zodiac Animals but I don't see any names for them or know any good Chinese names that would fit for them, with the exception of Son Goku being the only Legendary Chinese Name for Animal of the Zodiac (namely the Monkey) so it's a little hard to find other fitting names for the rest of them when I lack Chinese Folklore and Culture knowledge.

So I'm wondering if anyone else knows if the 12 Zodiac Animals might have names or legends about each animal or possible befitting Chinese names for them. Anything?

I'm open to suggested names for them if that's alright.

Off The Wall / I think my PS3 has reached the end of its life...
« on: February 18, 2013, 07:23:43 AM »
I can't this happen to my PS3 today... I was just playing on it fine until later tonight.

I'm not sure what entirely happen to my PS3, a few hours ago (about 4 hours) I was playing a game on my PS3 and I shut if off after I was done with it and my parents ask me to bring it downstairs so they can watch a Blu-ray movie (as my PS3 is the only Blu-ray player in the house) and when I went downstairs and hooked it up my PS3 wouldn't work!

Basically when we turn it on it either freezes with the PS3 logo popping up, slows down when PS3 logo vanishes, or just stays blank with the background still there and no options to log on. And I can't turn if off by pressing the Power Button for some reason so now I have to pull out the power cord to turn it off which isn't a good idea I believe.

What happened? This my PS3 really is kicking the bucket or I did something to it that damaged it? Just after I upgraded to 500GB memory this happens sometime ago and there's some new PS3 games I'm planning on getting, like Metal Gear Rising: Revenge & Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm 3, and now I won't be able to play it!

Has this something before to anyone? Can I fix it? Or should I leave it alone? Please, I'm worried about my console as I've had it for more than 3 years!
Can Sony fix my PS3? I hate that I have to buy a new PS3 if they can't fix it.

Fan Creations / How do you make your own Mega Man title logo?
« on: November 30, 2012, 03:52:51 AM »
Wasn't exactly sure where to put this, but since it's a Mega Man-related thread I thought it would be OK to post it here but anyway I need help with something. You see I'm trying to make my own Mega Man title logo from scratch, except from using other titles and modifying it, but it's based on Mega Man X and its focused on the last versions of the series (X8) but I've been unable to find any tutorial on making it so I was wondering if everyone here knows or has some tips or materials to help me make it.

I'm making my Mega Man X title logo unique and special and it requires the "X" in the name because I plan to add something to it in the same exact font style of the title logo but it's been proving unproductive for me at this time. So does anyone know? I like to make is as professional-looking as I can get it.

Off The Wall / Does anyone know the name of this Japanese song?
« on: November 29, 2012, 02:09:10 AM »
Sorry to pester you with this question, but seeing as everyone around here have a vast knowledge about the Japanese culture and thought maybe you know about this song:

<a href=";feature=player_embedded" target="_blank" class="aeva_link bbc_link new_win">;feature=player_embedded</a>

It starts at 1:04 and continues on until 1:39, about, and I've heard this song so many times before but I don't know the name of the song which I want to know so I can find it. Does anyone one? I want to find this song, it's really great and I love it!

By the way, that Visual Novel essentials are horrible... I don't know how that person thought it was absolutely necessary to have those in a VN. -_-;

Digimon World Re:Digitize is a brand new Digimon game that is a throwback to the original DW1 game by using its roots to raise, train, and battle your Digimon in the Digital World. The artist for the Shin Megami Tenshi, especially the Devil Survivor series, is drawing the character portraits while the Digimon use artwork from the Digimon official card game as their portrait. Just like in DW1 you raise your Digimon by training in the Training to improve their stats and depending on their stats will digivolve into a different Digimon and Digimon have lifespans like from DW1 where they go old and die.

You raised Digimon from: DigiTama, Baby, In-Training, Rookie, Champion, Ultimate, and Mega levels.

During that time you can choose to reborn your Digimon into a new Digitama with inherited stats from their previous life or, new to the Digimon World games, choose to make your old Digimon into a DigiMemory so you can call them as allies to attack the enemy (something from Digimon Season 6) and you can carry up to 5 DigiMemories to call upon to save you when the battle is looking grim for you.

Digimon World is a MMO simply called "Digimon" hosted by the GIGO Company, which was the only company to survive a worldwide network shutdown and re-establish network for the entire world, in the story where the Player, his rival and best friend, and a young girl (who is ranked #1 as the top Digimon Battler) are sucked into the Digimon World one day when they entered a certain pass code and they're not the only ones who were digitized into the game. You travel around File Island to back Digimon back into the city to prosper, like Meramon who becomes a chef when you complete his side-quest, and climb the former Mt. Infinity, now called "DigiTower" where the Arena is, to the top to solve the mysterious surrounding the Digital World, the network problems, and the mysterious "black" feral Digimon.

Player (Default Name: Taiga): The main character of the game. His starting Digimon Partner is Agumon.

Nikolai Petrov: The Player/Taiga's best friend and rival who lives next door. His father works in GIGO company. His Digimon Partner is Gaomon.

Akiho Rindo: A young teenage girl that follows the Player/Taiga, and the #1 Digimon Battler for the MMO "Digimon World". Her Digimon Partner is Biyomon.

Mikagura Mirei: A mysterious ice queen woman that has an interest in the Player/Taiga and is a hacker. Her Digimon Partners are Angewomon and Lady Devimon.

Yuya Kuga: A strange young man with connections to the GIGO company. His Digimon Partner is Black War Greymon-X.

Holy Angemon

There's over 10,000 different accessories that your Digimon can equip, including a pair of goggles, to personalize your Digimon but only after you defeat a certain character.

Also appearing in Digimon World Re:Digitize are two guest characters from the Tekken series, Lili who uses cute Digimon(?) Numemon and Monzemon as her partners and her butler Sebastian who uses Angemon. Not only are Tekken characters appearing in the game, but characters from the Digimon Anime series will make an appearance as well! Taichi (Tai), Sora, Yamata (Matt), and Takato will appear in the Arena during wireless battles... defeating these characters unlock certain rewards, like defeating Tai will grant you his WarGreymon to use as DigiMemory (I'm assuming as it originally stated you gain access to WarGreymon when you beat Taichi, though I think it's strange since you could probably raise an Agumon to a WarGreymon on your own unless there's locked requirement so I think get Tai's WarGreymon as a DigiMemory to help in battle... this is just speculation on my part regarding the meaning of this reward)!

Digimon World Re:Digitize will be released July 19, 2012 for the PSP. Digimon World Re:Digitize also have a manga adaption that was released last month, with only one part done so far released.

Off The Wall / How do I translate a manga/doujinshi into English?
« on: July 14, 2012, 07:26:28 PM »
Hello, I'm trying to learn how to translate manga/doujinshi from their native Japanese language to English and I was wondering if there's any good tutorials around to help with cleaning up the pages, how to translate the text without messing up on the images in the panels, and any other advises when translating any manga/doujinshi (besides not being too literal with the words).

I know that wikipedia have the characters for Katahana and Hiragana, but not how to use them to create words and sentences. And Kanji is the toughest one to translate it, but it would help to have something to translate those when I can... I've got three of them down right now; Flame, Book, and Autumn.

There's a few manga/doujinshi I see I like to see in English, but I don't know anyone to translate and I don't exactly want to bother people with them and I don't see anyone translating them anytime soon, or some dropped them altogether, and there's some that were out for a long time there doesn't seem to be anyone translating those anytime soon as well.

So, can anyone help with someone wanting to get his foot out the door and learn how to translating a doujinshi? I'm a newbie, but I'm willing to learn how to!
Any video, written, or anything else tutorials out there I can use to help?

Off The Wall / Where can I download the serscan.sys driver file?
« on: June 16, 2012, 12:48:42 AM »
Hello, sorry for asking such a question, but I'm in dire need of assistance! I've posted this question on Yahoo! Answers but it got deleted... and no one answered my question during that time.

I've bought a new Printer, a HP Photosmart Printer, but I can't use it as I'm strangely missing a certain file for it to use my Printer... which is ridiculous. -_-
I don't have my Windows XP Installation CD for my Laptop, because for some reason I believe I wasn't given it when my dad ordered my Laptop, and so I cannot retrieve it for my Laptop. Also it's a SP1, I don't upgrade to SP2/3 because for some reason my Icons or Desktop gets enlarged and such making it everything bigger for some reason and I stick to SP1 because I know everything works right.

But let's get back on topic, I need this "serscan.sys" driver file to completely install my Printer to my Laptop to finally have a Printer again and use it. I can't scan or print right now, which is troubling... my grandfather spent nearly $200 on this Printer with the Ink and wire and I can't use because of this.

Can someone help me? Where can I get this file elsewhere?
I just need this one little file to use my Printer!

Gaming / Ciel no Surge
« on: March 18, 2012, 10:04:52 PM »
Ciel no Surge

Created by GUST, and made currently for the PS Vita, tells the story of where you, the Player, take care of a girl named Ionasol, nicknamed Ion, who has lost her memories and help her restore her by using fairies called "CHAR" to dive into her mind and restore her lost past. It is also a spiritual successor to the Ar Tonelico series.

Ion is a mysterious girl with amnesia. It’s your job to awaken her memories by connecting Ion to terminals and entering her mind. Inside you’ll see a broken world and repair points which you can mend together by using the power of Ciel. Fix these and you can restore Ion’s memories.

The story of Surge Concerto begins with a solar system with a swelling sun. La Ciel’s residents have two plans to deal with this impending crisis. A group (loosely translated as) the Astronomers are developing a plan to teleport residents to another planet. Meanwhile, a Terrestrial group wants to save the solar system by harnessing the power of song magic. Public opinion is split between the two groups and the fate of the world falls on the president-elect… Ionasol.

Ion lives life on a 24 hour clock (this takes place in real time) and she does her own thing depending on the time of day. You will see Ion eat, sleep, and wash up in her daily routine. Ion also has costumes she can change into. First print copies of Ciel no Surge include a PSN code to download clothes and accessories. Ciel no Surge has other planned downloadable content in the future.

Ion’s hair grows as time passes and she gets more talkative too. Players can also change Ion’s clothes and customize her look.

"Players interact with her by selecting choices using the Vita touch screen, and care for her over a period of three years. Ciel no Surge is the first game in the Surge Concerto series, which Gust say will be spread across multiple platforms." ~ quote from Siliconera article

Building a relationship with Ion and talking to her is one of the key parts of the game.

Ciel no Surge is tied to the Vita’s internal clock so Ion’s actions depend on what time it is. Players can talk to Ion and build a relationship with her. The goal of Ciel no Surge is to restore Ion’s memories, which you’ll do in the Dream World. As Ion’s memories are restored through event scenes in this other world the mystery behind La Ciel will unfold. The bond you make with Ion affects the memory restoration process. Ciel no Surge has other characters Ion can interact with when she leaves her house.

"Reminiscent of Ar tonelico, players will dive into Ion’s mind, which is a world of its own. As a symbol of Ion’s broken heart, the dream world is in ruins. Players will have to repair it with the help of a fairy to restore Ion’s memories. She can recall recipes to use in the real world while interacting with the player." ~ quote from Silinocera article

In the beginning of the game, Ion makes friends with three neighborhood kids – Tabo, Plum, and Cass.
Tabo is a boy with red hair and the first person Ion meets. He is the leader of the trio of children in the article and his parents own the general store. Plum is a young boy with blonde hair and glasses. He’s polite and interested in astronomy. Cass is a girl with silver hair from a wealthy family and is described as tsundere. The children can see Terephanken, an imaginary creature that looks like a dragon.

"Ion lives in her own world and when you power on your system she’ll greet you… unless she’s sleeping. Ciel no Surge is tied to a real world clock and if you want you can eat meals with Ion. Ion will ask players what time you can meet her so you can set a dinner date. Ion will cook and as you play the game she learns how to make more meals., but sweets are always her favorite thing to eat. Ion will try to create items on her own, but she often makes mistakes. Players can give her advice and after Ion creates an item she will ask you out on a date.

Dates take place outside of Ion’s tiny home. One of them is on a beach and if you tap the screen you can talk to Ion. Gust plans on releasing additional items as online DLC that trigger date events." ~ quote from Silinocera article

The Player creates fairies, called CHAR, by scanning barcodes using the Vita's camera feature as each barcode makes different kinds of fairies to use with unique hairstyle, outfit, personality, and combination of all of them. Each fairy with their unique personality can interact with each other game's fairy. Players need to use the CHARs to go into Ion's mind to restore her ruins and her memory.

"Ciel no Surge also has a built in Twitter-like system where players can type short messages called micro quasars." ~ quote from Siliconera article

First Trailer of Ciel no Surge

Second Trailer of Ciel no Surge

Deluxe "Agent Package" of the game:

Gust will release free and paid downloadable content for Ciel no Surge. Clothes and extra scenarios will cost money while new motions and voices for the communication part will be free. Ciel no Surge comes out on April 26.

There is also online community features as you can look at other player’s profiles through your friend list which shows how much HymP they have. HymP (Hymmnos Points) let players customize fairies in the game called Char. The game has various hairstyles, clothes, and accessories to buy. Some items can only be unlocked using the Micro Quasar system. Everyday, Chars send energy to a server. All of the energy is combined with other players and if there is enough everyone gets a new costume. And the online feature also helps players gain new costumes for each other for Ion to wear.

I had to copy and paste from the various articles as it was a little too much to write down all the information about the game in my own words, and since it's already there I posted it here to make it easier to get the just of it without going into each articles. Sorry about that and all credits go to the people who wrote the articles and got all the information.

Any one excited for this game to come out?

I think this game is right up Vixy's ally! :3
Surprised no one mention this game here yet.
