Eh, the sin of Devil May Cry 2, and the anime, wasn't just that it had crappy gameplay. Was that it took Dante's story seriously and had him act like a typical badass with one or two jokes, rather than a KURAAAAZY guy who surfs on missiles and gets impaled in swords while making puns.

But at least he was Dante, he looked like Dante, he moved like Dante and he wasn't totally serious. He was still relaxed enough to crack a few jokes. This new Don'te doesn't seem able to do anything really. It's not the same game in ANY way at all.
The only consistent characterization of Dante is 3 to 4. Kamiya's Dante was more down to earth and less KUHRAAAZAY, but he still had a dark and cool style about him -- Except for "I wanna fill your dark soul with LIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGHT!". He also showed quite a bit more emotion.

It's weird, because Itsuno, Tanaka and Co gave us drab Dante. He still has a gem or two here and there (I personally love the "A false coin for a false god" line), but he barely talks in the game which completely kills his character. Oh and the game sucked, too. These same guys went "oh [parasitic bomb] what are we doing" and gave us the Dante we've all come to love.

The Anime seems to take Kamiya's Dante into the direction of 2's Dante. Less emotion, quiet, still cracks a few wise ones. Strawberry Sundae. It's hard to say where Dante would've went if Kamiya continued (You can't say Bayonetta because it's clear Bayonetta had it's influences from 3/4's Dante), and I think people forget that he wasn't always the rocket surfing, innuendo dropping demon slaying rockstar. Just a guy with mommy issues. And a bitchin' coat.

I'm not really sure if I have a point here, I just wanted to talk :P I'm in the middle of running through the entire series (I'm on 4 right now) and I've got DMC on the brain. We'll just round it out with "[tornado fang] Tameem and Ninja Theory". The best thing we can do is throw all our money at the DMC HD collection and hope that DmC sells like crap and that in the end Capcom goes "Huh, I guess we're stupid. Let's make old Dante again!"

Awesome! Thanks alot, Rep!

So, I messed with a bit and I ended up having to throw off the proportions so I'll let you guys be the judge. The pixelation from the scanning isn't too bad and it's barely noticable after you've printed out the cover. I think this turned out well!

Unfortunately, no. They're too small for me to really upscale (or I could just be terrible at it) and the quality isn't fantastic.

Alternatively, if you check the link now (it's updated), perhaps I can find someone who can help me replicate the moonrunes on the back and then add in a few screen shots.

Hey guys, got a request! I need scans of the back cover for Rockman 8 on the Saturn. Heres why:

http://ewazone.com/psy/Images/Rockman%208%20copy.png (Warning, big ass image)

I'm moving all my games into DVD cases and no one seems to have ever made a Rockman 8 Saturn DVD cover. I'm trying to make one myself but I have no way to get decent copy of the back cover. "Why don't you do it yourself?". Well, I've yet to actually purchase the game (I'm planning to) and even if I did own it, I don't have a scanner worth a [parasitic bomb] to do it myself.

Anyone able to give me some help?

This isn't a bad game, but it's a bad Devil May Cry. Reviewers will love it, due to it being visually good and casual as all hell in terms of combat. It will sell. But I hope it sells less than other DMC games. Capcom need to know they made a mistake by choosing a game developer that has been making unsuccessful games so far, games that haven't sold as much as expected, and that have centered too much around being a movie, instead of having good gameplay. They shouldn't just pick the first western developer who makes action games they see to build upon such a strong franchise. Specially one with the reputation of making ripoffs of ripoffs of their games.
Except, Capcom will see it as "Oh, Devil May Cry doesn't sell", not "We made a terrible game from a great series." I'm trying to remember where I heard it, but the deal seems to be that Capcom wants this game sell big or get shelved. I'm not gonna declare that as fact, but I don't think it's too far from the truth. Inafune and Co pushed for this god awful chav because they wanted to turn heads and get attention. Instead of doing it the right way, by giving us great gameplay and a reason to be excited, they did it by alienating nearly every fan of the originals. While there is no such thing as bad press, there is such a thing as burning your fans one too many times and Capcom just unlocked the backburner and is tearing through the crowd.

If we want to show Capcom how bad this is for Devil May Cry, we don't buy it and risk Capcom shelving the series. If we want to guarantee future games in the series, we buy it and Capcom thinks "This worked!". I think we could be boned either way.

Sorry for bringing this thread back, but I just remembered something of relevance.

Remember Mega Man? The ORIGINAL on the NES? Gamers today may know that it's pretty hard-to-find game, and this normally happens to games that didn't do so hot during its original run (of course fan demand has also made it more valuable). The thing is, Mega Man's poor sales would have made Capcom forget about it and move on, however it was fan reception that made Capcom give the Blue Bomber a second chance. With a lot on the line, and a potential disaster, Mega Man 2 was released. I think we all know the rest.
MM2 was done in what free time Inafune and Co had. That was the condition from Capcom for Mega Man to get a sequel. Luckily for us, it worked out.

Quote
The point is; listen to the fans. You've got an overwhelmingly large number of people who want this game released. Though the time between Mega Man and Mega Man 2 is a lot different than the span between Legends 2 and [what would be] 3, it's all the same. It's late, I hope that all made sense.
Internet Echo Chamber in effect. Your "overwhelmingly large" number of people is just a very vocal minority. When it came to the Legends series, Capcom did listen to the fans. And the fans didn't buy the games. I don't think the PSP rereleases did so hot either. Cult status or not, the fact is all three Legends games put Capcom in the red which is why it we didn't get a Legends 3 ten years ago.

And it's not just Capcom that's gone awry. Inafune's later Capcom years weren't so hot either. He spent alot of time trying to recreate the magic that was Mega Man 2 and failed (though he lucked out with Dead Rising becoming the hit it was). He's one of the people who pushed for Devil May Cry to become what it is under Ninja Theory, so he could get that so beloved "Western Touch" ( http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/112/1129209p1.html ). His vanity projects, Maverick Hunter X and Mega Man Powered Up, tanked hard -- Just like all three Legends titles. And if ZXA couldn't get a sequel when outsold both MHX and MMPU world wide, there's no way that a series that put Capcom in the red was going to get a solid sequel after a decade. Capcom may be going to crap, but Inafune wasn't helping his own case.

Just beat Sonic & Knuckles on my Genesis to celebrate my birthday. I got it 15 years ago on my 8th birthday when my family was stuck in a shelter and we were tight on cash. My mom gave me a memorable gift and I've never forgotten it!

2/3rds of Sonic CD didn't even need to be designed to begin with. The time travel is completely useless if you're good at the Special Stages.

It's just a placeholder for the armor. We have armor designs, but they will not be revealed until the game is out.
Yeah, I figured it'd be something like that :P Still, the little bit I've seen looks interesting, but that first video with the square enemy by the door? Total X6 level design, man.

All depends on the strength/quantity of the fire and ice involved, I'd say.

Everyone has to be weak to something, whether expected or not, and that certainly didn't start with 7.  What advantage does a top have over a ninja, again?
Mother [tornado fang]er, have you seen the damage Battle Tops can cause?!

I keep hearing 10 is better than 9. That gives me a little hope in deciding to try it out. I'm hesitant on downloadable titles due to the fact that if you're unsatisfied, you're out of money. You can't return, you can't trade.

Okay, so. I recently got an RCA to 3.5 Stereo cord that I'm using to get sound from my consoles onto my PC. Works fine. Except I can't find where to control the volume of this damn thing.

Well, that's a lie. I have to go into my Realtek Audio Manager in order to get Line In to respond to anything, as it is pretty loud at times. I'm trying to get it to show up on my volume mixer.  I've been searching google and while there are solutions, none of them seem to work. I'm not sure if it's stereo mix I need to get onto the mixer or what, but it makes it a real pain during streaming when you have to open three or four windows to adjust volume for audio and mic.

What I have at the moment is a program called Power Mixer. It does exactly what I need (letting me control all volume levels), but it's a trial version. I'm hoping that if, for whatever reason, I can't get this to show up on my Windows 7 mixer that someone else knows of another program that can do what I'm needing.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
