I'm still here, sort of.
Short version: "Beyond the Black Horizon" is an in-progress alternate-universe fic of Sonic Boom Rise of Lyric that I planned out and began work on before the game's release. As a direct consequence, there's virtually no overlap between the two.
All links are to my tumblr, currently the only place where it's hosted; this is to prevent breaking the character limit on posts as the chapters are somewhat long. This post will be updated as chapters are completed.
I'd like to ask that no one make any smartassed comments about RoL here, directly or no. My patience stretches only so far.

Eheh. XD; Personally, I'm reserving full judgement of RoL until I have a system to play my copy on (I've played Shattered Crystal and enjoyed it).

.....My god anti-social Sonic is adorable. I think the last time I wanted to hug a Sonic so much was Classic Sonic in Sonic Generations due to how adorable he is and Sonic in Sonic Lost World when the [parasitic bomb] going down reached the tipping point.

Wow....Burroughs is a real jack ass, and I've seen lots of stuff in Roleplaying that really crossed the Moral Event Horizon but that was pretty insane on it's own. At least Amy and the others are so persistent understanding and supportive to Sonic and his 'anxiety' issues.
And also poor Amy getting that scared when she talked to Cliff, I was really not expecting that exact reaction even with how serious the matter was.

Well, in sorta-fairness to Burroughs, Amy DID lie to him...but he also said outright that they'd all be executed, so I guess it cancels out.

In the meantime, since it'll be a bit before the next chapter's done: anyone got any theories/speculation on events thus far, out of curiosity?

Gotcha.
[spoiler]Because if there wasn't I was thinking Sonic was part of a mostly extinct race of Hedgehogs and one of his ancestors was the one who sealed Lyric.
But now I'm wondering if Sonic is actually from the Past but lost his memories due to some accidental Time Traveling Shenanigans.....[/spoiler]
