I read somewhere that X Collection was originally supposed to have a host of extras instead of the basic collection that we were given. Does anyone know what they were?
-
Mostly artwork and maybe a sound test or two, like how MMAC was. :\
-
Voice acting for all games, remixed music for X1-3, I'm sure there were other [parasitic bomb]...
This is all I can remember off the top of my head.
-
Instead, all we got was some artwork, tips on getting the Street Fighter moves and Gold Chip, a couple remixes, fading music, DO YOU LOAD? messages, and X saying DAMN in X1. And Battle & Chase.
-
...and X saying DAMN in X1.
What? Really? Where was this?
-
Opening stage. When talking to Zero, he says, "Damn! I'm still not strong enough..." or something like that. In the original X1, he said the same thing, just without "Damn!"
-
The rumors of extra content in XC is really unconfirmed. Although the "Damn" IS there. Just play X1 in XC. And supposedly, it comes from an older version of X1.

I was wondering why I couldn't remember that from my childhood...
-
Woah, in my snes game he says "Damn", does that mean i have an older version?
-
Hmmm.... I'm not entirely sure. I know the US version doesn't have it.
-
Actually, I think I was mistaken... It was X4 playing as Zero in the opening stage where I remember a, damn.
So X said that too in the first game?

Here's a video I did of the opening stage, US version. (Skip to 5:15 if you want to see that scene)

And here's the scene from the European version...
I see no Damn! in either.

Is that from X Collection, Vixy?
-
idk, i remember my actual megaman x snes game cartidge saying that :\
-
Mine never said that. This is a mystery indeed...

somebody call the mysterygang and their dog 8D
-
The damn was added in for XColl. It's like they started to fix the dialogue up, and then forgot after that line.
The damns in X4, though, were always there.
-
As I thought. Mystery solved.

Mega Man X was my first Mega Man game. When my mother first bought the game for me, I said, "what the hell is this [parasitic bomb], it looks so stupid", when I looked at the boxart. >0<
-
I love that boxart! did any of you notice how read X's face is on it though? óVó
-
I had such a terrible eye for detail back then, which I can only blame on NES MegaMan box art looking absolutely nothing like him (Captain N didn't help any either). I used to think the X1 box image was some artist screwing with the concept of the Shotgun Ice colors. Then when *I* found the body upgrade (my older brother insisted there was nothing up there; shows what he knows), it finally clicked.
