Title: The Megaguy series borrows heavily from Gundam.
Post by: Nekomata on January 01, 2010, 10:27:48 PM
Protoguy is the Gundam the the sniper joes GM
BreakGuy is a char custom Joeshutup, i know he's protoguy with a stupider hat
Darkguy 1 is a guntank
Zero's Triple Rod is the RX78-2s Beam Sabre in beam javelin configuration
X series Zeros has RX78's Backpack
X's various armors borrow designs from the various gundams.
Rush Jet acts the same as those sub flight systems used in almost every gundam series since Zeta.
Forte's the Nu Gundam to Rock's Sazabi Nu gundam is essentially a copy of the Sazabi. also, Gospel Boosts wings look like Hi-Nu's Funnel Rack, where as the Rush Adapter looks like Sazabi's
Galaxyman is based on Dragonar Unit 3, and the EWAC Zaku
Omega Zero is the Wing Zero to Rockguy Zeros Epyon
Dr Vile goes all Devil Gundam by the end.
Fafner is Heavyarms, Harpuia is Wing, Levi is Shen Long, and Phantom is Deathscythe while Copy X is pretty much the Tallgeese.
Model X is the Strike Gundam, FX/PX take the place of the launcher pack, HX/LX for Sword, and ZX for Aile, Omega is the IWSP pack.
the Shining laser is more or less the Wing's Buster Rifle
Beat is a Bit/Funnel
X uses Shining Finger.
There's like, three colony drops.

whoo, the japanese and there love of pop culture refences >.>

When I open a new topic I try either to delight, help or to inform people, but this thread is just inopportune in its timing, sorry pal.
The shark has already jumped over mine thread about the ZX and NGE comparison, so yours won´t be save from it.

I really miss when Bandai made the Rockman & Rockman X model kits.  Those are so much better than any other Rockman toys, and are essentially smaller Gundam Models!

Whoa, I came in here all ready to agree with a derp, then I saw this:

Fafner is Heavyarms, Harpuia is Wing, Levi is Shen Long, and Phantom is Deathscythe while Copy X is pretty much the Tallgeese.

I thought about it then I realized that this is a frigging nice catch. XD

The Tallgeese is really fun to use in Gundam Vs. Gundam Next Plus!

Anyone who has played a ZX game and NOT noticed Gundam references obviously has not heard of Gundam.

Omega Zero is the Wing Zero to Rockguy Zeros Epyon
Shouldn't it be the other way around, Wing Zero being the longer lived good guy?  Or are you referring to the fact that Omega has more varied weaponry?

Speaking of which, X5's Genmurei charge-up is so totally the Epyon-about-to-destroy-Barge pose.

So does that mean Asura Bazura is Sandrock?

You know, it might be fun to go the other way around and see if Gundam knocked off anything from the Blue Bomber.  I mean, what's Heavyarms's best attack after it runs out of ammo?  Top Spin.

Zero is the sealed away original, Epyon is the copy.

Serpent's Final Form - Devil Gundam
Does that make Vent's final move in the manga the huge Shining Finger attack at the end of the anime?

Huh, interesting, always thought it was the other way around...

Probably the most blatant, and obvious reference to gundam that not even Inafune can deny is X's Shining Finger.  8D

In ZXA they reveal Prometheus and Pandora to require rest in special capsules to moderate their life functions or they'll die, just like the Artificial Newtype expies from SEED.
