thought the first game was fail, but if this is going to improve on what sucked in the first one, I MIGHT rent it, or pick up a used copy or so.

I still have yet to finish the first Endless Frontier game, or even get far in it. I dunno, it was fun but I just couldn't get into it. At least it looks like the sequel will be keeping the bounciness of the first.

Neige Hausen~ She's adorably cute! 0v0 *hug*

Neige Hausen. She's named after Shine Hausen from OG. Voiced by Nana Mizuki. (Fate).

Males name is Aledi Nassh/アレディ・ナアシュ. Same last name as the Shura King. Voiced by Tomo Seki.

their units names are

-Youseiki Fae/Feicried (based on the fairlions), also tieing into her last name.
-Rasetsuki Archon

Ironi2000
Aledi Naash
Protagonist, currently 17.
A young warrior from a race known as "Shura", have been thrown into a fighting life since 12 years old in the war ridden country called "Hakoku"[波国].
Has the nickname "Gouren no Aledi"[Aledi the hard trained?] and is a master of melee combat, wields the techniques of the "Haouken" and "Kishinken".
Has a very serious character, [can't read a kanji, kind of get the meaning that he trains often].

Neige Hausen
Princess of the honorable Hausen family from the country of elves "Elfetale", now 117 years old.
Got caught up in a dimension shift in the previous war [first game?] and was transported to Hakoku.
There she live with the Shura till she finally had the chance to return to Endless Frontier[?].
Strong-willed but wilful, [something about her habit in speech].
Fights with a big spear, "Feyslayer".
- no army stuff, was a wrong reading of a blurry kanji on the previous pic

Rasatsuki Arkon
A Rasetsuki of legend that rests in the "Tower of [can't read kanji]" in Hakoku.
Rasetsuki are robots that move on the strong desires [? 覇気], it runs on the battlefield together with its controller during battles.
However before Arkon can have a befitting controller, Hakoku fused with Endless Frontier and it disappeared[?].
Aledi sets off on a journey to chase after the Rasetsuki.

Youseiki Feicried
A Youseiki that is passed down in the Hausen family.
Youseiki are mechanical armors that move on magic[魔力? or demonic power?].
Before the elves are transported to Endless Frontier there was a great war, at that time the Youseiki went missing.
Before the Youseiki return, Feicried once again appears.....[? really rough trans here]

Seeing it in motion, the visuals are defiantly a step up from the first game.

Gameplay is looking like it's going to remain the same. Hopefully they'll fix the finicky part of the battle system that stops your attack if the enemy lands on the ground for a second even though they fell earlier on the same attack phase.

Never really happens if your doing it right

Other parts from the famitsu page.

>Neige's skirt is short, (something I don't understand)
Since's Kaguya's image in the first game had such an impact, it would be troublesome if said impact is power-downed, even the body has 'exceeded' biggrin.gif.
The heroine's hairstyle also 'exceeded' from ponytail to twintails.
To succeed that, Aledi's hairstyle became ponytail!

>Female cutins really leaves an image compared to male cutins.
Of course, we put effort into male cutins, but female cutins seem to leave much more of an impact.
There were more female characters in the last game, this time there will be an increase in male characters, so look forward to the males' performance.

>Let's hear about the robots.
Last time it was Alt and Weiss, so this time we changed out preferences.
Rasetsuki Archon is a design combination between Ialdaboth and the Shura's last boss Extim. The body is of Ialdaboth, but the limbs look more like Extim's.

>Faircried looks like it has blades all over its body.
It has blades at back of her head and on her skirt. The whole thing is made of blades.

>Neige uses quite a big spear. It also looks like it has a revolver attached to it, what is it?
Magic bullets. By using cartridges that have bullets infused with magic powers (or mana, whichever you prefer), the energy is released through the blade. Also, the handle has a jet booster to enable thrusting attacks.

While the first game has each character using 5 skills, the number will be raised. Overdrives can also level up, making the effects look even better.
You can set up to 3 sets of skill combinations.

The game's size is around twice as big as the first game.

>Is the stage set in newborn EF?
There will be plot relations between EF and another world. Look forward to it.

>How would Aledi be introduced in the game?
He's completely different from Haken. In OG Gaiden, the Shura can fight robots (the 20 meter tall ones, not EF's 2-3 meter ones) with their bare hands. That characteristic is bought forward into EF. Because Aledi inherits the traits of Folka from the good guys, his name inherits Naash from the bad guys. Play the game to know what they have to do with OG.

>In the first game, the guest characters Reiji and Xiaomu had Xiaomu being the older one. (Fattest guy among the four from Bamco)-san likes older women huh?
Lol no. In the first game, the setting was an older male and a younger female (Haken 23, Kaguya 18), ans since the first game had a mature male and a tomboyish heroine, this time it becomes the heroine who is older than the male.

>About Neige, of course her first impression is huge tits. Whose preference is this?
Actually the original design wasn't up to this level, but when (the artist)Kawano Sachiko-san drew her, it suddenly became big. About Neige, the keyword is 'horizontal'. Heightened horizontal booty is the biggest point of her design.

>Will the characters from the first game participate?
Since its the same world, of course they're there somewhere.

>Does Aledi fight bare-handed?
Shura is strong at bare-handed combat. In OG, the pilot's prowess is directly transferred to the robot they ride, but in EF, you can taste the essence of the Shura's raw prowess (without relying on robots).
Shura skills have the kind that shoots Haki, so its not only pure bare-hand combat.

>Will there be more spirit commands?
For things like combo support and frontier gauge increase, there are new spirit commands added.

>During battle, will the dialogues spoken in battle system carry over to this game?
In the first game, we had experienced seiyuu doing the voice acting, so it clearly brought out the character's personality. Therefore, we put extra consideration in casting, and had Tomokazu Seki-san (Domon, Sousuke, Yzak) and Mizuki Nana-san (Fate T. Harlowne) do the two mains, and the result was satisfying.
Since we have a silent male this time, it was hard thinking up his lines.
This time there will also be times where characters speak on the field (last time there were none), so look forward to it. Like last time, we want to show the characters' personalities clearly.

>Will there be an increase in cutins?
Quite a lot actually. Smoothly animated cutins from the first game received good feedback, but in the end it was only billowing hair, changing expressions, and slightly moving when coming out. This time the cutins are all presented in fully animated form, making the character move even more smoothly, as well as increasing appeal.
When the character moves, their boobs also bounce!
Not only a normal bounce, it was made with thought of presenting it in a way that was never seen before.
Of course, not only boobs, cutins from the waist, thighs and ass are also included, so be sure not to miss them
The cutin presentations' animation is totally different from the first game.
So its about ass now huh? EVEN THE ASS HAS 'EXCEEDED'!

Good to see improvement over gameplay. Although, the character tidbits made me laugh inside.

The only characters that showed up were Namco characters, and that was just KOS-MOS and Tel-os. The expys of the main characters of a different SRW game already belonged to the people who made Endless Frontier.
Title: Re: SRW Endless Frontier EXCEED
Post by: Setsuna F. Seiei on November 09, 2009, 06:32:17 AM
It's T-elos.

and for the most part it still technically is OG since all the characters are owned by Bamco, and Banpresto to begin with is owned by Bamco.

But aside from KOS-MOS, T-elos, Reiji, Xiamou and their related series characters, all other characters were original creations. None have ever appeared in any previous SRW title.

Honestly...no.

[spoiler=reveals the plot behind the game]As you play, you'll notice a particular kind of enemy appearing called Einst which are incredibly tough for the dungeon you'll be in at the time. Apparently THEY'RE the entire reason why the world's are so [tornado fang]'d up and all this is mentioned literally right before the final dungeon, which effectively is nothing more than a 3-4 boss Rush Mode of particular bosses, and when you beat the game, you find out that all the worlds used to be one until someone went and [tornado fang]'d it all up (I don't know who since the only Einst you actually meet says he wanted to fix things, albeit in monotone zombie speak, but apparently the crystals that are associated with them are also making a giant mess). Haken also apparently is some kind of prototype and the Black Phantom is his Personal Trooper who somehow manages to get the other two PT's to join the party (the third one just explodes), but overall they impact the story of the game with minimal effect.[/spoiler]

The combat also gets old since you stop getting new combat skills shortly after level 20 or 30, and as for a New Game+, all you get to do is keep items that aren't important. Your levels, skills, and stats disappear back to the original values. You don't unlock any new side quests or missions, and as far as hidden things go, it seem as if only the hidden boss fight (which is actually a joke depending on your levels and items; if you can beat the final boss, you can beat the hidden boss and vice versa, there's almost no difference stat wise) is the only thing there. Once you beat the game, there's almost no reason to go back in playing it unless you just want to wail on the enemies with the weapons and armor you had beforehand, and I'm not sure if you can stock up on the weapon the hidden boss gives you.

Your impression be on the mark. You get to the destination, you're greeted with a Boss Battle and a sex joke, and MAYBE a sliver of development if you're lucky.

I hope they got rid of forced evasion. That's the biggest crock of [parasitic bomb] I have ever seen in a videogame.

Forced Evasion. Worst. System. EVER. Who the hell thought it would be a good idea? I pray to god they remove it from the sequel, that may actually get my attention to Asseed.

Though, they'd have to add more characters and robots and an actual story this time for me to really care.

Horrible pun aside, I'd rather think that you may be right on the money there. I'd like to see a plot from Cybuster, if not, as well as a few additional cameo-bots from OG 1+2 aside from the primary cast from Altisen (the robot itself)'s viewpoint, and the Einsts.. and.. additional cameos from Xenosaga if they are still having Xenosaga cameos. *cough*

The scans say players get forced evasion now as well. Apparently at the cost of the gauge.

Terada said a while ago that they have no real interest in the Cybuster story. It has nothing to do with Winkysoft or rights, they just don't care. And also that OG characters won't appear in this series.

And Nacht was based on the Gepenst-MKIII from the SM world that belonged to BeoWulf/Einst Kyosuke, not the normal Kyosuke Nanbu.

Most likely Axel will regain his memories. He was pretty much the #2 guy within the SM's, and would know anything and everything about the outside aspects of EF. Like the numbers, crashed ships, his possible Illegitimate son Harken, etc.

Storywise, you don't really need to know a whole lot.  I went into the first Endless Frontier blind.  They specified just enough in the story for the cameo characters to make sense within the context of the game.

You just wouldn't be able to point at every single cameo and snicker gleefully.

Oh well, I asked for more characters and plot, and if that's how they're going to do so then I really can't complain since I'm getting exactly what I asked for :\

I'd like for a more open world map this time. The first game's world map was much to linear and there was next to no exploration involved. I'd also like some tougher, but shorter boss battles. I like a long boss fight, but 35-50 minutes was just too much for your average boss.

I really should pick it back up tonight and finish it. I've had it since May and I'm maybe 3/4 of the way through it, but it just kinda faded away, even though I was enjoying it. I blame Rune Factory: Frontier.

One more thing,

If M.O.M.O's gonna show up, expect Shion to follow soon. This is a nice entry from the Xenosaga half. And look who it is, it's that robot dude from the platformer adventures. :P

Not really. KOS-MOS, MOMO, and T-elos were always the 3 most popular characters. Shion on the other hand was never popular at all.

If they add any others from XS it will most likely be either Jin or Albedo since they were the top 2 males. (rubedo in 3rd)

Also [tornado fang] yeah at Kamen Rider RickTheGreat.

I can't tell since I don't read moonspeak, but the four characters next to MOMO and whoever are in a black box graphic, but the pictures seem to have them facing right...so are they enemies coming back, assist characters, or what?

They're only there as assist characters.

Presumably, MOMO and Roa are assists as well.

-Best part of all of this...KOS-MOS gets a new theme!

-F SCYTHE, YES!

-momo got a remix of KOS-MOS' old theme for her BGM, It's Kouta Roa, not original, and also gets a remix of his OGG theme.

-Also Mahou shoujo Lyrical MOMO

-And FFFFFFF at that Axel, KOS-MOS, Alfimi triple attack.

-Also the OP from Nana Mizuki. The animation over all was pretty good.

I really like that Limited Edition, though. Hopefully Atlas brings that over as well.

And there goes my interest on the Limited Edition.

I at least want the soundtrack/art book. I'm sure Atlus would include those as a preorder bonus or something.

Depends on how Atlus of America handles it. If they just stick the CD in the case like last time, then they'll remove some tracks. If they go for the full-blown set, then they'll probably keep everything together or else they'd [acid burst] off the customers who spent more then they should have for reduced content.

The special attacks look pretty bitchin', but my enthusiasm for this game is still low.

And the music will kick as much ass as the previous one did. So I might have to wait again for the CD to get ripped.. oh well. This game I will still wind up buying anyway.

Atlus will NOT go for a full package, especially since the full package in Japan alone retails at $100+. Plus not to mention their games don't sell that well to begin with in the US, and aren't mass produced in large numbers.

And the music will kick as much ass as the previous one did. So I might have to wait again for the CD to get ripped.. oh well. This game I will still wind up buying anyway.

roughly 80% of the music was just slightly altered BGMs from Original Generations. Most of the new EXEED ones are from Original Generations Gaiden.

-Kyon, Eizel, Henne, and the fruity cat thing have been added to the Assist section.

-Kaldia And the new characters

Pete Pain aka W03, with Code- PTP
Hild Bran
Cleo Gretel

were added to the enemies section.

Pete is pretty much peter pan based. One of his moves is even called Lost Boys.

Not really. they're presumably only temp assists for certain events. MOMO and Roa are the only presumed permanent members that aren't main combatants.

LOL it looks like Koma has learned a thing or two from Miles "Tails" Prower. 8D I'm guessing certain support characters can only be used by certain characters in the team.

More than likely, but that really helps to make the game better in combat as well as potentially making member choices more difficult to help balance things out.

KOSy's always had a large rack. It's just that they're more detailed and bouncyer in exceed.

Over all, the bonuses for the LE weren't all that worth it.

Disk 1 was just the OST to the 1st game. Disk 2 though was the OST to Exceed. All the old characters got theme updates, but they're really just either sped up a bit (Dark Knight ver.EF), or slightly remixed. KOS-MOS's new theme is the only one that's really new.

ETERNAL RECURRENCE > Every other theme.

Wait... did you understand me correctly?
I meant, that I cannot figure out how to convert them to a proper usable format. I even put them in a [tornado fang]ing tile editor and I got [parasitic bomb] nothing.
So they are either, I dunno, compressed or I don't know.
